So you’re pretty much in the same situation I was in. It took a couple hours but wasn’t overly difficult. Basically just used a small cutoff wheel to cut off the extra material and match the contour of the ram bed. The ram bed is surprisingly a lot narrower that the Chevy/gmc. Had to take multiple inches off each side. Much better than spending another $1500 though…
Have you ever measured the distance from the surface of the decked system in the bed and the space up the tonneau cover? Trying to figure out if a folded up baby stroller will fit on top of it with the tonneau cover rolled down. I want to get one for my truck but my wife will be pissed if the stroller won’t fit back there with it and the tonneau cover rolled down 😂
I can’t attest to that because mine doesn’t have the external switch. There is some space to put your hand through the side though where you might have enough space to get to where the switch would be.

I have a 2020 GM 1500 long box with decked and getting a 2500 ram. How hard was it to get the decked to fit in the 2500?

On my 23 Silverado there is approximately 10 inches from the top of the decked box to the top of my bed rail.
Did you ever get the measurements on the ram? Is it 10” like the Silverado
Has no one thought about using shallow unistrut instead of the rack they sell?
Who added the additional tie down cleats?
Does it interfere with the switch to turn on the bed lights?
