    Hi. I tested this incubator out for a company that reached out to me. My hatch was pretty good for a first time use. I got 11/16 or 69% hatch rate. We did a dry hatch on this one, as we do with all of our other incubators. We dry hatch, so no added humidity the first 18 days, then from day 18-21 keep it at 60-80% humidity. You want a constant temperature of 38.1 Celsius or 100.5 Fahrenheit. I'll be testing this out a few more time to get an average and I'll update it here. I never had a temperature drop the whole 21 days. I only had to add water twice during lockdown. I used the bottle it came with and used roughly 1 and a half bottles total.
    Pros:
    It's small so it's efficient.
    Easy to use and set up.
    Comes with a DC jumper cable for a battery.
    Adjustable turners (good for different sized eggs).
    Has a temperature alarm.
    You can calibrate the temperature and add an offset if needed.
    Cost, it's priced very low for an automatic incubator.
    Cons:
    The power cord that comes with it isn't long enough for a floor outlet, best to use with extension cord or a counter outlet.
    Need to use the Styrofoam, so it's hard to see a hydrometer to monitor the humidity. I had to use a hydrometer with sensor on it.
    Only comes in Celsius.
    I like to dig into things and know how things work. I looked into the power consumption on this and it uses a max of 30 watts and hour. At 30 watts an hour that 720 watts a day or 15,120 watts in the 21 days need to incubate. That's 15 kWh. At $0.12 a kWh that's $1.80 to run this incubator for the full 21 days. So this is definitely a good choice if you're incubating 16 eggs or less. Comparatively my GQF cabinet incubator cost $19.65 to run for 21 days.

    hi ive got the same incubator as my first incubator ive had a few good hatches with it (duck & chickens) you can remove the styrofoam by lifting it as high as it can go then pull the left side up the rest of the way so it sits at an angle but i wouldnt advise it as it gives extra heating its an ok incubator as a first but i will always advise one with a humidity thermometer i have about 7 incubators now and counting and i will always recommend it as a starter incubator very good for the price

    Hi, good day! I have the same model of incubator as you have in the video, however, the hygrometer I am ordering online haven't arrived yet, thus I cannot monitor the humidity of the incubator. I am currently on the day 1 of my incubation. And so I have a question that I hope you could help me figuring out.
    For the humidity, do you add water on the very start of the incubation on any of the reservoir under, or just on the 18th day? If you do add water on the very first day, how much do you pour and how often do you replenish? I would be very grateful for your answer!😊🙏

    • @NicholsCounty
      @NicholsCounty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi. We do try hatches. So we only at water from day 18-21. We keep it at 70%-80%. We find dry hatches to be easier and produce better results. If you were to do a regular hatch you would add water on day 1 and then monitor that humidity to be around 50% from day 1-18, then 65% day 18-21.
