I need to see a div 30 stream of this map. One guy finishes a crash free run and knocks out 50 players in round one
Pretty much what happend in div 24, 16 elim on 2nd round then 14 on 3rd round. Joked about it the next morning on COTM and a dude told me he was on div 50 something and they had 40 elim on second round x)
Ye, my div also only had 10 people left after the first ko round. Was like div 45 or something
I was in div 8 in the 1st rerun and in the first ko round 21 people got k.o.ed
Div 31 here, we lost 9 people first round, there after it was only the normal 4 a round out surprisingly. Loooots of resetting going on though.
Yeah I got into a div where 42 people got eliminated and 8 people were left lol

The Wilhelm scream is the most famous sound effect. Audio engineers have been making it a game the past 10-20 years to put it in as many movies and series as possible. Wirtual didn’t know what it was when someone said it in Chat after he screamed AAAA. Later on the horn of the player was the Wilhelm scream as well.
That scream has been around since 1951 and is famous for being in all the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies. Also, there's a band called A Wilhelm Scream-- I used to listen to Ruiner all the time back when it came out :)
I got div 40 with 1m50s. 12 players dropped out before the start, 17 eliminations in the first round. PB was 52s by the end and got 3rd. Map was wild
I'm really happy that Wirtual struggled as well, I gave after 5 minutes because I could not get through it. Only recently started playing again and was worried I just lost every idea of what to do.

Nah this map is hard af. I'm a somewhat newer player (started in Feb of this year) and I could barely finish. Did 2 or 3 runs and straight up quit, and I usually aim for Top 5 in my US State. I think my run was over 2 minutes.
I almost finished it, but i think i missed a checkpoint sowhere. When i eventually got to the finish after multiple respawns on multiple checkpoints, it didn't count.
Same. I used to play The OG TMs and Nations but have only just started playing again after 10 years or so and this map was easily the hardest TOTD for the past 2 months. I gave up after 10 mins.
Just finishing this map without crashing is already insanely hard.
Yea I never got a clean run. I think I left this map at like 5 minutes clear time lol
About as hard as making sure every brick of the pyramids is perfectly placed
I played COTN on this map, div 4, finished 4th just by finishing the map all the time. I was slow as hell

Okay, so full speed maps often look deceptively easy... this one did NOT look easy.
easy to finish hard to master, speedslides are so difficult to perfect :s
@@Jepf1997 speedslides but also and not losing speed in features and taking them in a way that lets you get good lines for further speed slides

Imagine if someone bought the game because of the AC COTD. Then joined the cup the following day and saw this monstrosity. W move by Nadeo, as always!
So, by my counting -- in Division 1, there were only 2 players who got knocked out without crashing. That's ... impressive. And a testament to the value of being consistent on a map like this.
Wirtual: full speed is my favorite style.

I think bobsleigh is his favorite surface regardless of map style. As he is fairly good at driving it.
And FS is just fun in general as a style.
This map was so hard for me, and I like fullspeed. Took me dozens of retries to get a run done and I gave up on silver lol.

pretty sure plastic FS is one of the few style+surface combinations which HEAVILY favor controller players. Constant, smooth steering gains you so much speed it's not even fair.

I’m a little confused. I’m pretty new to the game, about 50 hours in. Usually during cotd I drive around top 2k. Unfortunately I missed this one, but playing it later on in the day I loved it, and thought it was pretty easy. Usually I struggle with other maps that people find easy. Was there anyone else who felt the same?
Also this is currently the only totd that I’ve gotten author medal in before leaderboards close.
I think this style of full speed + plastic is what your particular strength is all about, because this map is definitely ultra hard.
If you got AT on this map you have a very long and bright future ahead of you in this game.

This is the map I was referring to when I said it was too hard for COTD. Beginners can't finish this map.
I play on console and played in my 1st COTD yesterday. Got Div 4... I finished 26th because I did not know how to hide the other cars until after I was out. I couldn't see shit.
Every good full speed map is too hard for beginners and Nadeo can’t just ignore the style forever
@@q12aw50 agreed but I think there is a difference between a tough full speed map and a map that people can’t finish. You can still have full speed maps where skilled players can excel without making the map so difficult that most players can’t make finish a lap. This map in particular, if you did not carry enough speed through several parts of the map, it was impossible to continue.
@@ChayseGrizzell funspeed ≠ fullspeed. Also every checkpoint is double respawnable so you can finish it if you fail
@@q12aw50 I guess I’m not familiar with double respawn. Just picked up the game when it was released on console. Is what the alternate respawn button is for?.. or whatever it’s called
I’ve been playing raving games forever so I’ve picked up on this game fairly quickly but I could barely finish that map without respawning 3 or 4 times lol.

I saw this in track of the day and watched the GPS. I thought the custom video outlining how to play the map was a nice touch and went back to grinding spring authors
So I've watched Wirtual for a while, but I don't think I've seen him explain what plastic does. I know it has the bounce mechanic, but what does it do when you're just driving on it? Is it slippery like the wood material in Turbo?

I remember playing this map when it came out and it was insanely hard. I didn’t play cotd but I played it on my own time and it took me quite a while to put together a clean run

@@perleFF I don't think so. Wirtual even calls it FS in this video. You never hit brakes or release, and are speed-sliding to go even faster. I'd say that's pretty much FS by definition.

The reason why I'm calling it rpg is that you are oversliding everything because plastic FS features are difficult to build right, and the main time reduction is from air time (rpg hunt element) reduction, not speedslides. Basically it feels more like an rpg/speedfun map to hunt because of oversliding and airtime.

Obviously the map maker is a total weeb. "Whisper of the Heart" is the English title for the 1995 Studio Ghibli movie 耳をすませば (mimi wo sumaseba) which was adapted from a late 80's manga of the same name.

unique style, cool aesthetic, fs bonus points.
only nitpick is roughly 15 seconds in it's a bit annoying that you can get airtime on the uphill which was very annoying, but the rest is feels fair, though the end is hard too. All the transitions are hard to learn but consistent and rewarding

They always have! :) Some people are doing regular speedslides and some do wiggles
i really enjoy full speed maps but this level of play is so beyond me i cant imagine playing like that.

You should try League of Legends, finish the tutorial, hit level 30 and straight queue into ranked. The community is so nice and welcoming and will help you climb fast
