Yesterday I watched a movie "Hemingway and Gellhorn". Big part of it took place during Spanish Civil War. There was a phrase which I remembered, referring to the end of this civil war. "Defeat of Spain". I only laughed and asked myself: "What defeat? This was a glorious victory!"

Creo que es bastante difícil que una bandera de España represente mejor a si historia que la mía.

I compare him to the relatively more contemporary Hu Jintao who preceded the current leader of Mainland China in the 2000s. He was a dictator most certainly, but the vast majority of people in the country were not actively suffering under restrictive oppressions so desperately as similarly seen with the other totalitarian regimes of the 20th century once the civil war concluded. In the end, his rule led to a more socially conservative Spain compared to the rest of Europe, which neglected the post-war conflation of heritage and tradition with racism and evil that was seen as a result of the Axis Powers' atrocities against fellow men. If one wants to fend off the Marxists, don't look towards the bumbling fool Mussolini, or the excessive atrocities of Latin American and German totalitarianism, Franco is the model of effectively wielding authority while understanding the limits authority alone brings without also acknowledging the will and welfare of the people. Nayib Bukele is a similar figure we see today who's taking the reigns of government and crushed the cartels and curbed the street violence previous officials cowered to.
