Yes you need to submit statement of purpose (if you have a supervisor, this will likely not affect your admission) 2.Yes you need references.Typically , you will provide their email addresses and the school ( the one you’re applying to) will contact them. So all you need to do is to inform the lecturers that you are using as references 3. If you have teaching assistantship and other funds, you just need to prove to immigration that you can afford your flight and cost of living. Usually around 10,000 per year. I hope this helps. 😊

Covered flights from home all the way to graduation return flight (if you want to go back home). It was just by Grace of God. All I had to do is get my passport and hop onto the plane...lol

Hi It all depends on how you want to apply for your visa. There are two ways you could apply: online or paper. If you go for the online route, all your documents have to be scanned and submitted through the portal provided online. I don’t have much knowledge on GIC but when i do, I’ll definitely update you. I had published my undergrad thesis but I doubt that had a bearing on my admission prospects, since applicants weren’t required to have done that before applying. The selection criteria are/were pretty simple but I think a stronger GPA makes it rather easy to get.
You’ll basically let him or her know that you are interested in their research and try to convince them why you are a great fit. Also attach your cv, transcript or any necessary document to the email.

I don't think that is what it means. I know people who got into a thesis program in Canada without prior research experience. If possible, I'd advise you to get a mini article you can present as a writing sample. This will show that you have some experience and can undertake research study. Best of luck!

It depends on the school. Some schools will ask during the application, if you need teaching assistantship. Others will require you to have a separate application. To confirm, you can email the graduate administrator ( you can get their email address on the school’s website) about how you can apply. I hope this answers your question.
