The farmers almanac said early Fall. When I was a kid September would be cold but now most years it's hot

Central Ohio has been absolutely positively miserable with heat and humidity. I am so ready for cooler weather and actual winter good hard freezes substantial amounts of snow. Bring it on.

I live in Western Massachusetts the Berkshires and the leaves on Maple trees are starting to turn.
I live in the Pioneer Valley and even I’ve noticed that some of the leaves are changing color already.
Does that seem early for you guys?
Did you all have a dry summer there?
I live out west and the leaves don’t turn until its in the 40s theres often snow while the leaves are falling off the trees

Hello, FYI...Here in Maine, the acorns ( mature & immature ) are falling from both our healthy Red and White Oak trees. The driveway is getting covered quite quickly. When they drop this early it usually means that there is very cold winter weather that will appear sooner
than expected. We have three racks of maple and oak wood from the ice storm that hit southern Maine. The big tree missed hitting the garage by 1.5 feet and the other trees were snapped. We also had two 100' Pine trees taken down at the same time. That process was super

I remember hearing chain saws cutting wood in mid August for Winter while living in NH. K here
Newburyport, Massachusetts here. I remember in 2014 leaves where changing colors in August and then a slow start to winter even though it snowed 5-6 inches the day before Thanksgiving. Once January 20th hit, it was a snowpocalypse.

NW PA Leaves started turning in July. Beech trees have yellow leaves and maples starting to turn now. That's early.

People love the climate in Florida most retirees choose to retire in Florida! If you hate the weather so much there’s a thing called moving did you know that? There’s plenty of others like myself who would appreciate the year round warm climate, leave so you could leave room for people who will appreciate it!
We moved to Florida 4 1/2 years ago. We are very happy we did. The heat is something a person can get used to. I played 18 holes yesterday finishing in 92 degree heat. I know I wouldn't want to be a roofer this time of year, but for us retirees it's not bad. In the north I detested having snow in April. There were times I had to mow the yard in the snow (smowing, we called) or the grass would get too thick to mow. And, the lack of sunshine in the northeast was rather depressing.

Just watched the weather on TV in Shreveport, LA. The next ten days forecast to be 100+ each day. The last several days have all been 100+ as well. Cool weather can't get here soon enough.

The stink bugs did not hatch like they normally do this summer.
Also the next 10 days is cloudy with evening sun breaks. We should be just sunny this time of year.
I'm really hoping that the early Fall Cool weather remains and gets even cooler all the way into winter.
After 20 years of heat in the tropical humidity of 110° F & 120°F of the desert, I'll take the Fall Temps of 60s & 70s.
Ususlly, in Massachusetts, August is in the high 80's - 90's. Next week the forecast says mostly all 70's.
100f and 100% humidity here in Florida. It's like an oven. I sweat 20lbs of water per day. Any relief is welcome.
When I was a kid back in the mid to late 70s growing up and August 1 2 1/2 weeks of September we’re always cold and shitty in northeast Ohio. This is nothing new to me. Best regards.

There is potential hope for the Ernesto situation. This time of year the Gulf Stream follows the East US coast and turns eastward toward the central Atlantic around from NY state to Rhode Island. Hopefully it will follow those warm waters at the surface and turn seaward.
If you look at past years we usually get a fall like cool down about the third week of August for about a week

August are not what they used to be. I worked outside for over 20 years and we always dreaded the month of August with its high heat and humidity. Seems to me that summer starts earlier with higher temps mid June and over the last few years maybe even 5 years, Augusts have been quite a bit cooler.

I live in the Texas pan handle. We have had triple digit temperatures all month long during August. The long term forecast by the national weather service says the triple digit temperatures are going to last at least until the end of August and possibly into September. Where are you getting your information?
