Because he has not done the antagonistic training. so all the effort is in one direction for his muscles. this over long time produces the bend. I am 100% sure he knows this. But given he is a professional arm wrestlers he must have been willing to make the tradeoff.

I have been in strength and combat sports my whole life but never even watched arm wrestling. Devon is such a great competitor and ambassador for his sport now I have been literally watching for hours. Amazing truly amazing! By the way I am 56yrs old how did I miss this?
@@raizen4271 Actually I saw some place he was in the military for a while. If that's correct I am thinking he can probably handle himself pretty well in a fight. I competed at a pretty high level in striking and grappling, I spared with a bunch of military guys and they were no joke, military training isn't pretty but it is effective.

Just when I got hooked on arm-wrestling and started training , I got carpal tunnel on my right hand, I recovered after two months and started working out again, yesterday a fire almost started at my house and after a fight, I manged to stop it, my hand is now full of blisters haha, but guess what, I'M NOT GIVING UP!

What an an absolute BEAST!! I’m a huge supporter of Devon Larratt \m/ I was born in March of 1977 so we’re around the same age. I was born in St.Marys,Ontario which is in between London & Stratford,Ontario,Canada. Anyways I’m not one to post my personal stuff on here but I was hit by a VIA Rail Train just outside of Stratford,Ontario in 2005 in my 1992 Chevy 4-door cavalier so I’m clearly lucky to be alive first & foremost & I’ve had 3 major left shoulder surgeries & my last being a partial shoulder replacement & my left wrist surgery removing the “Ulnar Styloid Bone” & a left ankle surgery & “PTSD” has taken it's toll on me the most & I just discovered this sport, well I knew it was a sport obviously but not on this scale & I took a big liking to Devon Larratt & his attitude & training & how he goes about everything & then finding out he’s also Canadian to boot was icing on the cake plus he served our great country of Canada!!! :-) So with struggling with Depression,Anxiety & Stress big time my daily struggle has become greater & greater the older I get with my head taking a good wack from the Train Engine. But your video’s have given me this new found strength to not give up dammit even when your literally down & out & your just about to drown.... NOT DEVON LARRATT! “Over The Top” hat on backwards, & turn on that “DLDP” - DEVON LARRATT DIESEL POWER! The last match was a bit of a joke, the guy was smiling, obviously he knew it wouldn't matter much if he won it.. Still I'd say he was Devon's toughest opponent there, of course in their first battle (8:30). But you have to include the fatigue too, hard to evaluate all of them, that tall young guy was very strong too but Devon was surely more fresh at that point.

Devon does not pin them down immediately. Here is why:
1. Their arms could break
2. Devon needs warmup and endurance training
He knows they'll pin a lot easier when they're tired, too. Good combination with getting exercise in holding.
3. He wants them to get work in too for their benefit as well

I have been in strength and combat sports my whole life but never even watched arm wrestling. Devon is such a great competitor and ambassador for his sport now I have been literally watching for hours. Amazing truly amazing! By the way I am 56yrs old how did I miss this?

@@raizen4271 Actually I saw some place he was in the military for a while. If that's correct I am thinking he can probably handle himself pretty well in a fight. I competed at a pretty high level in striking and grappling, I spared with a bunch of military guys and they were no joke, military training isn't pretty but it is effective.
Sweet stuff the young buff dude was trying everything he could to catch Devon in a weak position but little did he know that is exactly what Devon wants because it gives him the opportunity to get stronger by knowing his weakness. Very nice teachings...

There is really no true GOAT of arm wrestling the best have all beat each other in one tournament or another. So in my opinion there isn't one true GOAT with that being said John would be the closest to it if there was one.

Just when I got hooked on arm-wrestling and started training , I got carpal tunnel on my right hand, I recovered after two months and started working out again, yesterday a fire almost started at my house and after a fight, I manged to stop it, my hand is now full of blisters haha, but guess what, I'M NOT GIVING UP!

@@Noxxiie Honestly I can't pinpoint the real reason, doctor said that I put pressure on my wrist while keyboard tapping for long periods , I also do quiet a bit of manual work, it's my fault for not being careful :)

I’ve been on a week long tear
Devon you inspired me to love arm wrestling 2 years ago and I became stronger and more experienced and I love to arm wrestle all my friends and it took me 2 years to finally beat all of them but I did it! I don’t know when or how but I’ll eventually enter my first tournament at some point.

What an an absolute BEAST!! I’m a huge supporter of Devon Larratt \m/ I was born in March of 1977 so we’re around the same age. I was born in St.Marys,Ontario which is in between London & Stratford,Ontario,Canada. Anyways I’m not one to post my personal stuff on here but I was hit by a VIA Rail Train just outside of Stratford,Ontario in 2005 in my 1992 Chevy 4-door cavalier so I’m clearly lucky to be alive first & foremost & I’ve had 3 major left shoulder surgeries & my last being a partial shoulder replacement & my left wrist surgery removing the “Ulnar Styloid Bone” & a left ankle surgery & “PTSD” has taken it's toll on me the most & I just discovered this sport, well I knew it was a sport obviously but not on this scale & I took a big liking to Devon Larratt & his attitude & training & how he goes about everything & then finding out he’s also Canadian to boot was icing on the cake plus he served our great country of Canada!!! :-) So with struggling with Depression,Anxiety & Stress big time my daily struggle has become greater & greater the older I get with my head taking a good wack from the Train Engine. But your video’s have given me this new found strength to not give up dammit even when your literally down & out & your just about to drown.... NOT DEVON LARRATT! “Over The Top” hat on backwards, & turn on that “DLDP” - DEVON LARRATT DIESEL POWER! @@vikramdas2961 didn't mean to call you little man 😂 forgot to put the "," before "man". 😀 I'd still say it was more his father (in the goggles and baniyans) who tried to wait until Devon got tired after the match with his son and exploit Devon's fatigue.. The last match was a bit of a joke, the guy was smiling, obviously he knew it wouldn't matter much if he won it..
Still I'd say he was Devon's toughest opponent there, of course in their first battle (8:30). But you have to include the fatigue too, hard to evaluate all of them, that tall young guy was very strong too but Devon was surely more fresh at that point.
