    Been using this little baby for about 6 years?... It developed a hum that caused me to set it aside. I got brave and opened it up and found a wire pinched and now it works great!

    I bought mine back in 2008. I can do everything on it. The BOSS BR-800 seemed better because it was able to hook up to a DAW. You can do something similar with the 600.
    Too bad its discontinued. I wish it had a bigger memory card. That was always the issue lol.

      Amen. Purchased this back in the day and hardly used it, still in mint condition. keep thinking about dusting it off and trying to learn it, but then I remember I have iOS devices...

    Nice review sir. I love this little unit. I bring it on the road with me and I am on the road a lot... It took a little while to get the hang of moving through the menus, but with a little practice it became much easier. A home I use a Yamaha MD8, because I like twisting the knobs, but I have to admit the little BR600 has so much more capability. I am thinking of buying second one for the day when this one dies... ( I also have a Roland 88ex, which hardly gets used because of the menu operation. It is easier to use the BR600, although there is some similarity which makes it easier to now use the Roland 880 ex, which does not have the drums built in like the BR600.

    Nice presentation i bought one of these machines a while back think it was one of the first machines produced now has unrecognised memory card error message which requires down from Boss sight load to replace existing software only problem is to use down load requires working memory card facility any suggestion would be appreciated from Boss sight

    How do I hook up my amp to the boss unit? It has a dual outlet on the back of the unit but my amp has only one inlet. Is there a cable that has the red and white pins on one end and the single jack for my amp?

    • @michaelclark9082
      @michaelclark9082 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I'm using a cable that has 3 (red, white, yellow) phono plugs originally used for video copying. Plug both red and white plugs in.

    Is there a method to add reverb for mic tracks?

    • @daviator4720
      @daviator4720 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Down load the pdf manual for free from Roland/Boss and it will tell you how to add reverb to pre or post recording. Works well, and you can select different reverb models like Hall or Big Room etc.

    I really wish I had a chaperone with these hardware tools. This stuff seems to complicated and the owner's manual is literally a book. Anyone know of tutorials on this thing?

    Don't be fooled by the apparent ease of use of this equipment as explained in this tutorial. The handbook is a veritable nightmare to try and fully understand. I'll admit I am somewhat technophobic with this type of thing and if you are too, best to avoid it. Frustration abounds when trying to learn how it all comes together. It appears to be and probably is a terrific piece of kit (you'll have to buy an outdated compact flash memory card if you acquire one of these) but I have barely used mine because of its complexity. If you're only going to use it occasionally be prepared to relearn it all each time..and oh yes, did I mention the handbook arrrghh!!

    • @TheBriggs13
      @TheBriggs13 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hand book is simple and every one thinks im eliterate I was up in running first day even has pictures of every step it is a big book a lot to read but if you take it step by step to what you want to do now then next and skip too that its simple im glad people find it hard tho maby why I got mine for 20£

      Thats typical of japaneese ingeneers...they want to be thorough and complete with their designs. All available technical specifications and features they want to put in their designs. Which is a good thing for the end user/ customer. The downside is being able to use and understand the machine will take a serious study and a manual book size for refference..
