Seems very practical, you probably have some systema and kali skills too, it would be good if you have a full set of videos on youtube so people could reintroduce this martial art as it is quick to learn.

Rule #1 Dont judge until you have trained with him. I learned this concept from BJJ.
Yesterday i attended his 2 day workshop and only thing i can say is he is teaching total bullshit which he calls pure science. In 8-8 hours workshop spread in two days he was only demonstarting the same thing we see in his videos. He tells story for an hour then do the same moves again.
and that's the key right? with a knife I'm sure he can hold his own. but a lot of his open hand techniques are under the assumption that his opponent can't wrestle

would love to see him spar instead of showing up to perform a demo with one of his own students who is overly compliant. I have a feeling the second he approaches an actual fighter his technique will look suspiciously Western and it's unlikely he will win.

I find most traditional martial arts look a lot like western boxing or wrestling once put to the test.
You don’t learn technique through sparing. Sparing doesn’t look like actual fighting, you people are ridiculous. You want to test, go in person and ask

Sparring doesn't teach you technique, it's for practice of timing and distance against a moving target. People go to seminars to learn principles and technique. That is what is being demonstrated. You would learn nothing if always resisting. Real life is very different from MMA, which is martial arts stripped down to the least damaging techniques

Thats changing very fast. Hockey, badminton, tennis, chess, billiards, shooting, running, wrestling, boxing. We are improving. And as for MMA fighting, well shatra vidya is not a recognized discipline yet. And probably it never will. Its too violent for the ring. It's more of a street fighting skill like Krav maga and Yorkshire street fighting.
The people who teach Indian martial arts do not want the devastating nature our styles don't get compromised by rules and regulations.
