These coaches love to ramp up the war rhetoric, but when the kids play it out with a harmless war-analogy gesture THEN they all clutch their pearls. Gimme a break. I can remember when the country was actually at war and Kellen Winslow Jr. caught hell for comparing football to war. Apparently that’s no longer a line we can’t cross, but flag planting is, unless no one responds, in which case, it’s a non-issue. Blaming the team that has won, when they choose to celebrate with a symbolic (yes Mark, it’s SYMBOLIC) flag planting, instead of the losing team that responds with VIOLENCE is absurd. And if they’re going to go with Meyer’s suggestion that flag planting be banned (as though its some kind of violence trigger that’s beyond anyone’s ability to control), then that better be enforced all the time, not just when the offended team gets salty about it and turns it into a melee. Texas and Oregon both planted flags at Michigan Stadium this year and no one, including Gus Johnson who called both of those games, said a word about it. Why? Because no one responded to it in a way that drew anyone’s attention. So what we’re learning here is that flag planting is only a big deal if the losing team decides to make it one… which really means that it’s not the act of “planting your flag” that’s the problem, it’s the violence that *some* teams feel justified in responding with that’s the problem. But sure, let’s just say they’re equally to blame. That’s easier and allows us to cling to this “sanctity of the game” nonsense. We invite the war imagery and rhetoric but then cry “sportsmanship!” when the conquering army pretend to “claim” their new territory… for 5 minutes… before heading to the locker room and then going home. You got 6'5 300lb men slinging each other on the ground and hitting each other and you are a 5'10 188lb guy trying to stop 25 people in a melee what are you supposed to do? Those aren't kids those are young adult men and when people was on the ground and getting stomped on is when they broke out the mace and not before if you look at the film. it worked. they all left. Job accomplished and no one got hurt. Bad take Mark, really bad take.
4:51 lmfao Michigan planted that flag and kicked them out
Urban give some advise to Ryan Day,
Any team with class is not starting a fight because a team placed thier flag on the feild, all you do is take it and use it as fuel to win the next game in their house, it is the way rivalrys have always been, and if the ncaa bans something as frivoulous as flag planting it just shows how soft, emotional and weak minded this new generation is. Stuff like flag planting is great for rivals because it brews more anomosity between the teams which is a good thing its just some team cant handle their wittle feelings being hurt and need to start a fight now instead of saving it for next time and doing the same like so many times before.
You have the best take on the flag planting situation.
19:37 ohio state and ryan day dont do well under pressure. They will fold up
Mark needs to shut up about the police and law enforcement. He don’t know jack.
Ingram actually accused the police of assault for using pepper spray... like seriously. You can't be that ignorant
4:22 they are soft they won't be ready.
This has to be painful as hell for UM = Urban Meyer 💛💙🏆💪💪💪 As for flag planting, just make it illegal. It shouldn't be such a big deal, but sore losers assure they'll make it a big deal.
If you love it come back lol
Please don’t go to Ohio State. You actually make sense
Run the leather right up the middle vs the best DT duo in the country? U deserve your L, tOSU.
As a commentator I hate Urban less. That being said Give Ryan Day a Lifetime contract
Next: suspension for harsh language after the game since that would "cause" someone to retaliate and start a fight... SMH bunch of soft people are ruining college sports
Conferences are BS, and conference championships are dumb and a waist of time!
lol ….. 〽️
Mark Ingram is prime example of an Alabama education! Ofcourse the flag doesn't plant literally dumb dumb! It's a symbolic point they are trying to make. They own that Field. I swear Ingram I promise you doesn't really understand it. He is not just trying to be funny he really thinks they just thought and wanted the flag to stay stuck upright in the turf 😂. Them dogs erf erf! This guy I swear is on nonstop goofball mode. It's cringe worthy very often I can read the other guys faces. They are embarrassed for him
Stoner is a clown. Ryan day can’t beat Michigan. Hahahahah
Laugh all of you!!!!!
