      OMG what a rollercoaster. Anybody has seen my heart?; I think I dropped it somewhere in the fifth set. This was not the highest-level RG final, but for sure a cardiac-arrester . If that is even a thing 🤣🤣 . Three of the four GS at 21 years and change. Amazing

    • @Roxas-ph3te
      @Roxas-ph3te 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      @z1az285 Just shows how great those 3 were. Even if Carlos or Jannik surpass their total GS in years to come, the level those 3 achieved won't be replicated in our lifetime. If just one of them don't exist e.g Djoko, Nadal and Fed would've won 30+ GS each.

    • @z1az285
      @z1az285 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@Roxas-ph3teunquestionably. three absolute titans of the sport. Pne could say carlos learned and adapted their best traits plus added his own signature shots, so he a special player that way but unfortunately we suffer from recency bias. i say this as a carlos fan, but the big 3 were absolute titans of the sport

    • @Roxas-ph3te
      @Roxas-ph3te 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @z1az285 Potentially, Carlos could surpass them (as crazy as that sounds), but he needs to take his game to new heights to do that. Jannik will be so key, one big reason the big 3 are the big 3 was because of how competitive they were. They pushed each other to new heights. Carlos will need to improve leaps and bounds as well as stay healthy

    • @z1az285
      @z1az285 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@Roxas-ph3te Correct, we all knew he had the talent after he defeated Tsitsipas in USO 2021, but winning three five setters en route to USO 2022 was surreal for a 19 year old kid. all of his slam wins involved multiple five setters or tough 4 setters, so he has the mindset apart from skills. the last piece of the puzzle is consistent spot serving and serve improv ement, plus winning free points quickly. more offense, less defense plus adapting to indoor courts slow or fast while staying injury free. he can do it with his team. it takes time though

Djokovic won his first grand slam title at 21 years of age and than he had to wait another 3 years to come 2011 and than from 2011 to now he just started to kill everybody. Alkaraz has the best start than all of the big 3. There was only one tennis player in the history who had better start than him, and it was Monica Seles. She had 8 grand slams at age of 21 and nobody is beating that. He was the biggest talent, the biggest potential and the clearly the biggest what if in tennis history. If that horrible moment didn't happen, I wouldn't be surprised if she finished his career with 30+ grand slams, she was just out of this world. @@stefaniehellwig5652 well he's defending Queen's and Wimbledon 2023 so I'm sure he'll be there.
      Something everyone forgets in 2024 is that when the Big3 were 21 yrs old players could take their time when serving and between changing ends. They would sit down after the first game and had longer breaks of sitting down at the end of each set. They had as many toilet breaks as needed; physios on court when they needed them, sometimes for 10 mins at a time. There was no hawkeye or electronic line calling so if they challenged a point they would wait for the tv assistant to deliver a verdict or they would challenge the umpire or linesmen.
      There were also less tournaments throughout the year.
      Tennis is a lot faster now. Not to forget all the flying and time zones involved; all the different surfaces; different weather conditions; different hotels; blue light from smartphones messing with their minds and their sleep.
      It's no wonder they get tired! But it's not something young tennis players are encouraged to say so they either are genuinely injured from playing so much so fast, or they miss a tournament or two to rest. They are not machines.

      @@stefaniehellwig5652 he's defending Queen's and Wimbledon this year. I'm sure he'll be there but who can predict injury? Also, tennis is throughout the year unlike other sports. In this situation players are likely to get injured or need to rest sometimes.

    I throughly enjoyed this match. It’s also good, that no one can say ,oh he only won because ? etc etc. he won because he out played his opponent and i thought this match was more impressive than the Semi Carlos had with Sinner. Who was also up 2 sets to one. On Carlos .Finally all slams are up for all. Bravo Carlos Alcaraz…
