  • My friend Scott invited me to join him and a couple of other guys for a weekend trip to Kentucky's Red River Gorge. This is more-or-less what happened.
We started out at Sky Bridge Station, where we had some lunch before driving the short distance to the gate at Rock Bridge Road. It was a nice and easy trip with good company. Enjoy!
Check out our website for a map of the exact location of where we hiked.
    Recorded January 25 & 26, 2020.

Looks like you may have been on the old Turtle Back Arch trail? Did you pass a large bent tree before heading down into the valley?

I'm not sure. I didn't plan the trip, and was too occupied with talking, shooting and looking at All Trails to notice. I've got a screenshot of the map from All Trails...

@@slucherville1537 The reason I asked, that tree is an old Indian trail marker tree from the late 1700s. The way they are altered is specific to the tribe that made it. Shawnee and Cherokee made them differently ...they are the last remaining signs of those cultures. The tree would have been about 20ft from the modern trail and roughly 1/4 mile from the gravel road (rock bridge Rd). Trailhead is a largish parking area in the bend of the road.

@@slucherville1537 look up Indian trail trees online, their shape is quite interesting. The nose formed is the key that it wasn't formed naturally. You may see them and think you have seen them before...

@@reaganl.5113 I did, and this is a cool discovery! Thanks for the tip. My productivity for this afternoon is going to be very low. ;)
