- Enjoy these highlights of the 1995 AFL Grand Final. In this Grand Final, Carlton took on Geelong in what turned out to be one of the most one-sided Grand Finals in history. Even though Carlton were looking to win a record-breaking 23rd game of the season out 25, the game was tipped to be close. Geelong were looking to avenge three previous Grand Final losses in the past 6 years.

I saw the game live from Las Vegas. Who would have thought that I took most of them back from the Shark Club to the Luxor about a week later in my taxi. The Crows were there as well but stayed at a different hotel. Great night meeting them all.

He didn’t play badly in 92, just didn’t go bezerk. 94, 95 he was ordinary and coming towards the end of his career also in any event
Pretty hard to dominate when you're the full forward in sides that got smashed by 80 and 61 points...no full forward would have much impact

The Blues were paying players outside of the salary cap for years. A lot of teams were.

@@deniscasey9502 1987 the Salary cap was introduced, though in the 90s most Clubs definitely made use of ‘under the table’ and ‘brown paper bags’. Carlton just got the most severe and infamous punishment.

Cheating the cap for years they were. If it was NRL the premiership would have been stripped from them. Even still 5 wooden spoons has been good to see, while the Cats have picked up 4 flags.
If you think that Carlton was the only club rorting the salary cap, I have a bridge for sale that you might like to buy. Carlton was just the club that got caught and made an example of.
Carlton broke the cap in 2001 and 2002 not 1995.

They can keep on feeling the effects for another 20 years as far as i'm concerned. A few more spoons would be great to see. They were happy to bleed other clubs to play at Princes Park for years. They have always had an attitude of entitlement. The AFL era has put a stop to their domination, however it has not dampened their arrogance that much. Old Fitzroy/Brisbane supporter here, so i grew up hating them. These days they are not much of a threat to the competition at all.

Brisbane are much closer to winning a flag than Carlton.
Carlton will no longer be the greatest club. That will soon belong to Collingwood.
