I’ve been watching your videos for three years and when my special edition gold PS4 stopped working, your disassembly video made me confident I could repair it. Now it works better than it has in a long time! Thanks TronicsFix!
Great tutorial. Easy with the right equipment which most people dont have. You take a lot of pride in your work that HDMI port will last the life of the console now especially if you used 60/40.
Damn, I personally own 3 PS4s, and literally all of my gaming buddies have PS4s since around launch and we've unplugged our systems multiple times. Ours has never broken. Must be a you problem guys.
All it takes is one knock and it's toast. So it could last the life of the unit, or one week. Bad design; the port should have been a separate module, connected to the motherboard by a ribbon cable. Sony saved a dime and this is the sad result.

Hey Steve my names Mike just had a question I got a ps4 that was smashed I put new case fan and battery it boots to wlod so took apart I'm grounded all over the place, got any suggestions on what would cause multiple grounds and boots to white light
Hi Mike! So it boots to the solid white light? It's always hard to know with drops or "smashes"! If it's truly and HDMI issue I'd be checking the filters and the ic chip. If you're trying to find the short then try removing the chip and see if the shorts go away. If they don't try removing other stuff until the short goes away. Keep me updated.
So it does boot to white light the filters are okay, I remove ic chip I still got the grounds but it's not the only thing that's grounded it seems like most of the resistors are reading to ground
Super helpful information here. I've been wanting to get into console repair. A friend of mine was going to junk his ps4 and the issue seemed to be the HDMI port so with this video I should be able to see if that's what's wrong. If not, he was going to junk the system anyways 🐥
I need mine fixed , I was looking into getting it fixed with you guys but how does this exactly work ? I ship to you guys? You guys fix ? How long will it take ?
Yes, you would ship it to us, we would fix it then send it back. The turnaround time just depends on how quickly you would like it back. We offer 1 business day, 3 business day and 5 business day service (not including shipping times). You can ship it to us yourself or you can purchase one of our game console shipping kits. Here is a link to our repair page with prices and repair times: tronicsfix.com/collections/playstation-4/products/ps4-hdmi-port-repair And here is a link to our shipping kit: tronicsfix.com/collections/playstation-4/products/game-console-shipping-kit Let me know if you have any other questions.
Really good video right up until you connected the new port from underneath site unseen! Youve done this kind of work so often you make it look easy. But us greenhorns have no idea how you did that. Please show us how it would connect as you are placing the port on the pins under the microscope. Otherwise awesome video.
GOONY it’s really not. Probably 25$ for the part and the rest is labor. I charge about 345$ for an inspection of a money unit. And 80$ for a unit of comparable worth to a PS4.
Actually, compared to most repair shops it's a great deal. Many of them charge $150 and some of those have very little experience. We price it at $90 because that's what we need to charge in order to stay in business. If we could price it lower we'd love to do that but at this point that's the lowest we can go for it. If you're looking for a cheap repair you can always find an Ebay repairman.
Ok you can buy $1200 hot air station and $600 soldering station and rent an shop for about $3500 and take the risk to open ps4 cost about $400 if accidently something happen and then talk why it's expensive and also learn how to soldering
Please help me! My brand new PS4 game got stuck in the console, I can't find the screw and my hard drive setup looks different. My model is the CUH-1115A and I really want to eject the disc. THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCED
I have a question. First off, great video. I did the repair, but it didn't work. Opened it back up and found a bridge between the pins I hadnt seen. Do you guys think that could short and destroy the HDMI chip? or that redoing the HDMI port without any errors should work fine?
I just ruined my friends PS4. I heated up the HDMI port and wiggled it free, but a few of the little pins were still stuck enough to pull the pad away from the motherboard. The tiny wires are still attached to the mobo, but pulled off the PCB a little. I don't even think a pro could lay those wires back down and have then function properly. If you are going to attempt this, make sure that ALL 19 of the small pins are completely melted before you try to remove the HDMI port. I only have myself to blame, but I think video tutorials should emphasize how important it is to make sure that the solder is melted on all 19 pins before removing the HDMI from the board.
That just depends on how quickly you need it fixed. We offer 1 business day, 3 business day and 5 business day services (not including shipping times) so you can choose whichever you'd like. You can see the options and prices here: tronicsfix.com/collections/playstation-4/products/ps4-hdmi-port-repair

What is a good temperature to keep your solder gun at when working on something like this?
Around 480C

So pro Steve, as always. Great video.
Went over the board I didn't see any cracks any suggestions that would ground so much stuff at once
Super helpful information here. I've been wanting to get into console repair. A friend of mine was going to junk his ps4 and the issue seemed to be the HDMI port so with this video I should be able to see if that's what's wrong. If not, he was going to junk the system anyways 🐥
Just send it in to one of those ebay repair places , look for one with good feedback.
I need mine fixed , I was looking into getting it fixed with you guys but how does this exactly work ? I ship to you guys? You guys fix ? How long will it take ?
Yes, you would ship it to us, we would fix it then send it back.

Thanks for posting this, it worked perfectly.
Nice video
Thanks!
Really good video right up until you connected the new port from underneath site unseen! Youve done this kind of work so often you make it look easy. But us greenhorns have no idea how you did that. Please show us how it would connect as you are placing the port on the pins under the microscope. Otherwise awesome video.
what thickness thermal pads do you recommend for replacing original ones ?
Exactly the same...1mm
Thanks.
Very cool and useful video thank you
Is the HDMI Port in all devices Tvs Dvr .. all the same??
You look like a slightly older, non muscular Dwayne Johnson...
Ha, ha...well that's something!
CrazyLilGamer - ZombieKilla I wanted to fight this but if he did put on some muscles he would like the white version of the rock 😂
TronicsFix My ps4 turns on and stays on until i plug in my hdmi cable, at which point the system shuts down. Will replacing the hdmi port fix this?
He looks nothing like The Rock lol
Good video and good t-shirt too ( I'm here because you broke something)👌👍
Thanks!
Man why is it so expensive? $90 for a ps4 hdmi repair is a ton
GOONY it’s really not. Probably 25$ for the part and the rest is labor. I charge about 345$ for an inspection of a money unit. And 80$ for a unit of comparable worth to a PS4.
GOONY bro i would pay for that but where i live they dont repair ps4
Love your repair tutorials, would like to see one about solder mount repair. Top 5 mother board repairs .. something like that.
I cant do this where should i go or who should i give it to???
please help !!
i live in the uk.
Search for Andrew Paul on TH-cam. He's in the UK and should be able to help you.
thx
Omzzy Tube Gaming I'm in the US where can I go to get this fixed ?
You can send it to us...you can make the order right here: tronicsfix.com/collections/get-started
Omzzy Tube Gaming hi
Clear video.. clear audio... smooth.. how i like it. .:,D
Why is it 90$ for repair don't you think that a little too much
Actually, compared to most repair shops it's a great deal.
It's a 10$ job .. But he had to buy all of his tools. He has to pay rent , food etc . Plus his knowledge and SKILLS are scarce !
TronicsFix I live in Yuma AZ and how can I get my PS4 fixed it's the hdmi port can u get in touch with me
its a ten dollar job I bought one online for 5 dollars with a dollar scredriver
Ok you can buy $1200 hot air station and $600 soldering station and rent an shop for about $3500 and take the risk to open ps4 cost about $400 if accidently something happen and then talk why it's expensive and also learn how to soldering
This video is gold.
I am planning buy new game console
which is best PS4 PRO OR XBOX ONE S?
Depends on what you are looking for. They are both good for different reasons.
Can you tell me the different reasons of both console please?
IJAZ AHMED ps4
IJAZ AHMED Xbox one because you don't have to replace the HDMI port
Ps4 my ps4 hdmi port broke so I went back to Xbox, regretted it so much
Love your Hako setup!!!
Please help me! My brand new PS4 game got stuck in the console, I can't find the screw and my hard drive setup looks different. My model is the CUH-1115A and I really want to eject the disc. THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCED
NVM it was just dusty sorry
It's common for the rollers to get really dirty. A good cleaning usually get's them working good again.
That’s called a nicely done repair.
Hey thanks!
100$ to repair this is a rip off.
That's how businesses work, lets face it, the part itself is like $1.80 and probably cheaper in bulk, but they need some profit to sustain.
hoosama Senladeen Already did it and now it works perfectly fine.
hoosama Senladeen I mean yes but it’s such an easy fix that almost anyone can learn to do it
As i tell customers. Buy the tools and do it yourself!
And that's why you don't own your own business.
I will think of sending u my ps4 hopefuly ur still doing this seems like a great deal
We fix tons of these: tronicsfix.com/collections/get-started

Nice work Man. Very professional 👍
