  • Grip Puppies amzn.to/3OKyogr are covers that slip over your existing motorcycle grips. They give you more padded comfort and an easier grip on your motorcycle handlebars. Because the grip need to fit nice and snug they can be difficult to install. In this video I show you a simple method I used to quickly slip the grips onto my bike.

    I had put one grip on already and it was a massive effort and then I stumbled upon this video. It was relatively much quicker and easier.

    Worked brilliantly - although I did use a bit of soapy water as well. The plastic bag made it very easy! Thanks!

    Several methods suggested here on TH-cam, I tried this one and it was easy peasy, at least as easy as shown here if not even quicker.
    Thanks!

      A lot of people have also mentioned that a tiny bit of soap and water they slip on nice and easy - may want to give that a try also.

    Worked for me but the bag tore a little bit puling it out. Was able to just roll the grip puppy and retrieve the extra plastic. Thanks for the tip!

    I’ve installed at least 10 pair of these successfully - with soapy water. I might try this next , thanks 👍🏼

    Thank you, this helped a lot. I has to roll the grips up to get the plastic out on the second grip but that wasn’t too bad

    Sir, you are a grip and life savior. '' Grip savior '', because till i saw the video, i destroyed 4-5 pairs of them, using various methods, that believe me, you don' t want to know, because you will laugh, even when you sleep. And '' life savior '' because I CAN SLEEP TOO, now. ps: the grips i bought AND destroyed they didn't have not even close, the price of the Puppies. Fortunately.

    Excellent technique. However I applied some soapy water to the inside of the grip puppies and some on the existing grips and did mine and it took all of about 10 or 15 minutes at the most.
    Thank you.

    I just installed the puppy grips on my FJR1300 - with soapy water. Easy, fast, no problems. I really dont understand why people are always having problems sliding these over. I put it in soap water, slid it over the handle - and used a towel to just bring it completely over the handle bar. It takes not even 20 seconds on each side

    I have a VFR1200x and fitted a pair this morning, I just squirted some Quick Dry Electrical Contact Cleaner inside the new grips and they went on with a gentle twist in seconds, literally about 10 seconds ... the contact cleaner dried about a minute later and grips are on! Standard size Puppies ... not rode it yet but install was a breeze.

    I bought Grip Puppies for my RE and found them too fat and squishy, even for my big hands. I use leather wraps from Trip Machine now. Great feel, and a cool classic look.

    • @RideWithJerry
      @RideWithJerry  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've thought about doing the leather wraps. The leather wraps do look a lot better than the Grip Puppies!

    Tried it on my gas handle. Was quite difficult.
    Soapy water in left puppy and boom. Fitted in seconds.
    Also, could not get the plastic bag out... didn't work 4 me. Good tip though 😇

      Yes, a little bit or water (or soapy water) is probably the quickest and easiest way!

  • @VaibhavBain
    @VaibhavBain 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    You can also use soap water

    • @RideWithJerry
      @RideWithJerry  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do they slide on easy? I was concerned about making the grips slippery but I guess they would dry quickly.

    • @VaibhavBain
      @VaibhavBain 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RideWithJerry yes Jerry, with this method they slide easily and if they feel slippery you can use normal water to wash off. They dry up quickly. 😊

    suggest to apply a tin coat od oil

    • @RideWithJerry
      @RideWithJerry  ปีที่แล้ว

      Does the oil dry or stay slippery? A little bit of soapy water is probably the best and easiest way to put them on (easier than the method I showed.) They slide on easily and the water dries quickly.
