Thank you. This vedio showed the reality of bee keeping and what a newish keeper can expect to happen over winter and multifull ways to diagnose just what the problem probably is and a way to possibly correct it. This is one of the best vedios on the reality of what you can find on a spring hive inspections and corrective actions needed to be taken to try and rectify the problems found. Again great vedio

Why would bees in the lower two deeps WANT to migrate to the upper chamber with a different queen? This is in reference to putting the queen excluder and paper on two double deeps to give the queen more room to lay.

The workers go to where they are needed and are oblivious to the fact there are two queens once the paper has been chewed away.

Thank you for the great video. Are those Formic Pro treatments in between those supers or something else? If so how do you like them? I'm a first year keeper. My first hive over wintered very well.

Hi good video did you get my gift that I left u in your thanks, I have not heard from you and I am new at giving a thanks gift I need to make sure u got it. it was 50.00. and will you answer this question for me on the Demeree method. I did it to 20 of my hives I used drawn comb in all of the brood nest with queen excluder then 2 empty suppers on top they have some drawn comb and some new foundation. and then the top boxes has all the remaining brood and bees up there. and I have been going back and moving up nectar and capped brood and removing any cells that they are building in the top boxes, They are not making any cells in the bottom brood box, When I did this they did not have the swamping on there minds there was no cells in any of my hives I did this as a preventive measure. now I have found When I go back I am finding they are filling the bottom brood box with nectar I keep moving them up and putting more drawn comb in the brood area I have now ran out of drawn comb. Did this happen to u when u did it to your hives and did you do anything to help them to encourage them to stop doinng this or is it even a problem. Thanks have a blessed day

Question for you. This morning I have swarms in 2 hives that died last July. How long should I wait to check on progress?

I usually give mine some sugar water ASAP and do an inspection after 2 weeks. Gives them needed resources and time to settle in.

Once a swarm has moved into a residence it does not matter much....just depends upon what you are looking for and want to find out.

Yesterday I checked my hive and I was surprised by how many capped drone cells there were. I happened to watch your other video about drone layers yesterday as well. I didn’t know that could happen and expected the colony to supersede the queen before any problems cropped up. If I dispatch this queen will they have appropriate eggs to make a new one? I don’t have another colony to take eggs from right now. Unfortunately I crushed several swarm cells. I left one because I didn’t see a supersedure cell but I know my queen is very old. What’s your advice?

You've never had your queens sting each other through a regular excluder when you stack the colonies like that?

Can I do the Demary method on a colony that contains only 10 frames ?
I want to make good amounts of honey from it.

Does it hurt to leave the small hive? Hope that it survives? I have only 4 hives.

It would take a long time for some of the viable small hives to reach a suitable size. Equalizing hives by carefully move appropriate amounts of brood are an alternative , more labor intensive approach.
