RE4 Remake is definitely worth playing. Back then, I thought of Ashley Graham being okay, but the Remake did her better, I got to like her so much. Also, using a knife to stealth kill and parry attacks never gets old.
@@bronzin1445 it’s a remake, they did the work, the graphics alone show that a remaster isn’t capable of making the graphics look plastic like on PS3 to photo realistic like PS5, they added all the accessibility features from 2 & completely overhauled the faulty, basically stupid AI from the PS3 version.
One remake that deserves recognition is Gears of War Ultimate Edition. The original game is still great, even if it hasn't aged well, but the remake stayed true to the original in every way, and even restored some chapters that were exclusive to the PC port of the original. Like Medievil and Shadow of the Colossus, Gears of War Ultimate Edition did everything right
I think Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia should be on this list. Its a remake of an Japanese exclusive NES(Famicom in Japan) game of Fire Emblem Gaiden.
Ya bet. Now I haven't played final fantasy 7, but I know it was the first videogame that made storytelling in videogames very popular. Then shadow of the colossus was the game that proved videogames are art. Bioshock, rdr1, gta 4... All those games that are considered masterpieces for their storytelling wouldn't exist. But the last of us came out and it was better. That was where playstation exclusives told really good stories, and uncharted 4 is an example. Still have to play the rest of the ps4 exclusives that are really good like god of war and days gone. Even bioshock and rdr1. Can't play gta 4 because of the ps4. Of course, shadow of the colossus is legendary for more things but this one is the one that sticked the most with since stories are what I care about most in videogames. Shadow of the colossus is a masterpiece. For now it has the best ending in videogames in my opinion.
Just started this video but the Resident Evil 2 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Remake are two games that are not only amazing titles on their own but single handily made me a huge fan of both franchises. Incredible amount of respect to the OGs but they just we'rent for everybody at the time. Such amazing games re-imagined and modernized in a way that should be a gold standard for remakes going forward! Such great gaming experiences.
Well I never played the original Mafia ,but playing the remastered version was pretty sweet to play .And did like playing the remastered version of Mass Effect 2 from the Legendary Edition Trilogy ,well Mass Effect 3 at the end was little better .And the sides from the DLC was pretty cool as well .Since the Mass Effect games have cool side missions in the games .
I am glad Spyro and Dead Space were on this list. Spyro was my first PS1 game and I was so glad in 2018 they remade all 3 games. Dead Space 2023 was amazing and I can't wait for Dead Space 2 remake which I hope is coming soon.
My favorite remake has to be Ys: The Oath in Felghana. Falcom took one of the black sheep of the franchise and rebuilt it into one of the greatest Action JRPGs ever made. The System Shock Remake was excellent, too, although I do still prefer the original game, overall.
i actually liked capcom's ghosts n goblins remake in the RE engine, it was still balls to the wall hard and they gave it a nice story book artstyle :) definitely underrated.......obviously re2&4, dead space and such are the cream of the crop.
wouldn't mind playing a combination of Red/Blue/Green/Firered/Leafgreen and Gold/Silver/Heartgold/Soulsilver with the graphics of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening in the switch over the games we did get (sword/shield, scarlet/violet and brilliant/shining) although only in one version i dont think two versions are needed when there wasnt much exclusivity.

Throughout my time in video gaming the Halo 2 anniversary was the first remake/remastered game I really enjoyed before Crash, Spyro and Persona 3 got their remakes of their own which of course I really much enjoyed the Persona 3 Reload game beat it twice as well
Let's not forget about Medievil. That's easily the best remake of a PS1 game to date. Despite Final Fantasy XII looking better visually, Medievil is much more faithful to its original by comparison
Dislike for not including the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl remake. It's an awesome remake and the people unnecessarily hating on it hate anime art styles and chibis.
Links awakening was great I loved it on gameboy and replaying it with those graphics and having it be damn near spot on was amazing. I 100% the hell out of that game lol got all the tunics bottles hearts etc.
Twin Snakes probably shouldn't be on this list, in fact it could be considered one of the most unnecessary remakes. Even at the time it was criticized, and got mixed reviews, and fans agree that the original was the better game. Graphically it was worse than MGS2, despite using its engine. It wasn't a bad game per se though, and I'm glad it exists. It's just some games don't need a remake or actually get worse if you do remake it, MGS1 was one of those games.
Halo The Master Chief Collection is a remaster not a remake. That beeing said MCC beeing ranked after Pokemon is a joke to me. You can switch live from the graphics of the 2 first games, to the remaster just by pressing a button (just that very feature make MCC's remaster way better than the Pokemon one). If Pokemon wanted to be as good as The MCC is, they should have make a collection with the 5 first gen games, add all the futures of the most advanced game available for all the other games, add new modes and make use of the very special feature a just spoke about earlier concerning the graphics.

MGS The Twin Snakes was nearly perfect! But they messed up with the over the top cutscenes, and the rerecording the voice lines made it lose so much charm!
Question. As someone who absolutely despised the Portable version of P3 (boring characters, lackluster gameplay mechanics, TERRIBLE dialogue and voiceacting. Tartarus theme sucks too), should I play Reload? I can’t exactly say I’m trusting the mainstream opinion since according to that the original P3 is a masterpiece too, which it really isn’t
Once again the Resident Evil 1 Remake does not get the proper attention it deserves. That remake is the definition of how you do a video game remake. All these games on the list pale in comparison.

Final Fantasy Rebirth is amazing! I'm almost 130hrs in and still can't believe it's real. As a FF fan, it completely exceeded my expectations.

The ps4 version was a remaster but the ps5 version is a remake because it was rebuilt with modern day graphics.
