- A 360° video (though not literally :P) in the inside of the WDP4D diesel engine we see most of the times AT NIGHT. I chose night time as it will be unique and people are interested to know how stuff inside locomotive work during night. I hope you enjoy my efforts :D

The features in the engine are all average, nothing much special about them. You can see the huge powerful headlights of train. To all those who had always dreamed to visit the engine from inside, this video is especially for them. I have tried my best to present the whole engine view.

रात को इतनी लाइटों के बीच अपने सिग्नल के अनुसार ट्रेन चलाना बहुत ही होशियारी का काम है। लोको पायलट रियल जांबाज है देश के सैनिकों की तरह जो रेल यात्रियों को सुरक्षित अपने गंतव्य तक पहुंचाते है। सैनिक तो युद्ध के समय लड़ता है पर लोको पायलट रोज ही ऐसी स्थितियों से सामना करते हैं। नमन।

If I can't see anything, then I consider the track is clear to proceed. Clarity is always an issue during rain after nightfall as the track doesn't reflect as much light back.

Not good just manageable....
@@amitsingh-zl7dw I'm a Locopilot for WDG locomotive. Not manageable they are good enough, headlights seem to be pretty dim in the video because of the poor camera quality. Locomotive headlights are powerful enough to focus 500m away.

Lights are needed at the railway tracks, which will switch on when the train is about to arrive, and switch off when the train leaves any spot.

My dad is a railway officer n he boards in locomotive too for inspection n i am jealous of him coz i am not allowed. As a diehard railfan i really cry to get a loco ride for once. But nevertheless i respect the rules.

Didn't see anything at night. No visibility at all. How they drive train at night. Really like the wdp4d loco wat a turbo sound. Didn't sound like regular alcos. This sound is different. Really hatsoff to the IR staffs .

The headlight is not off, the camera used was from a cheap phone, thats why it's looking like that.

Since it was dark, the cabin was looking modern..all the rectangles made of tin and thousands of screws were not seen.
I think it's better to Keep taking only night videos of Indian train till they modernise and start looking pleasant.

Why train lights is off
Is there a cockpit voice recorder that keeps an audio tape of the pilots.. you can hear then reading every sign on the track, including the stain master pass lights... How do they keep their throats in good shape doing this job..
No, there is no cockpit voice recorder. They read the signs because otherwise they won't be able to know about upcoming stations, or happenings or conditions. They speak a bit loud because the noise inside the locomotive is really too much.

@@NoBakwas why dont IR introduce air conditioning to the loco cabins? Any specific reason? Or simply cost cutting?
@@aurodeepdasgupta7297 The main reason is the fact that the locomotives being used are old, so by default there is no air conditioning in it. Another reason considered, is not to make the locopilot too comfy in the cabin, as it would reduce attentiveness. Cost cutting isn't a factor, as it would be negligible to just a cool a chamber. However, in the next generation locomotives, it is indeed planned to introduce Air-conditioning.

Everything like shoot,editing details of loco,camera,mobile etc.are nice. What's your position, may I know sir,as Lps greet you. If you like say otherwise ok. But train guards or SMs green light when passing couldn't be seen. How that's happen. Anyhow very good one,except for ur name.
Can't really tell you my name, apologies for that. What I can surely tell is that I am an IRTS officer. As for the green lights, they are very clearly visible, and it appears only in the video that green lights have been missed, but in reality, they are well-seen.
