- A 360° video (though not literally :P) in the inside of the WDP4D diesel engine we see most of the times AT NIGHT. I chose night time as it will be unique and people are interested to know how stuff inside locomotive work during night. I hope you enjoy my efforts :D

The features in the engine are all average, nothing much special about them. You can see the huge powerful headlights of train. To all those who had always dreamed to visit the engine from inside, this video is especially for them. I have tried my best to present the whole engine view.
So be sure to WATCH TILL END to never miss a detail :)

रात को इतनी लाइटों के बीच अपने सिग्नल के अनुसार ट्रेन चलाना बहुत ही होशियारी का काम है। लोको पायलट रियल जांबाज है देश के सैनिकों की तरह जो रेल यात्रियों को सुरक्षित अपने गंतव्य तक पहुंचाते है। सैनिक तो युद्ध के समय लड़ता है पर लोको पायलट रोज ही ऐसी स्थितियों से सामना करते हैं। नमन।

If I can't see anything, then I consider the track is clear to proceed. Clarity is always an issue during rain after nightfall as the track doesn't reflect as much light back.

@@amitsingh-zl7dw I'm a Locopilot for WDG locomotive. Not manageable they are good enough, headlights seem to be pretty dim in the video because of the poor camera quality. Locomotive headlights are powerful enough to focus 500m away.
WDP 4 is a legendary beast. No aeroplane generate the sound 🔊 which it generates. I love it 😍😍

Lights are needed at the railway tracks, which will switch on when the train is about to arrive, and switch off when the train leaves any spot.
My dad is a railway officer n he boards in locomotive too for inspection n i am jealous of him coz i am not allowed. As a diehard railfan i really cry to get a loco ride for once. But nevertheless i respect the rules.

Didn't see anything at night. No visibility at all. How they drive train at night. Really like the wdp4d loco wat a turbo sound. Didn't sound like regular alcos. This sound is different. Really hatsoff to the IR staffs .
Oye yaro bullet bike di LED headlight fit karo engine par. jabardast Ujala padega. Locopilot ki samasya ka hal niklega. I like jett engine sound. air pressure horn sound. Ek bar fitt karke dekho.

Since it was dark, the cabin was looking modern..all the rectangles made of tin and thousands of screws were not seen.
I think it's better to Keep taking only night videos of Indian train till they modernise and start looking pleasant.

Is there a cockpit voice recorder that keeps an audio tape of the pilots.. you can hear then reading every sign on the track, including the stain master pass lights... How do they keep their throats in good shape doing this job..
No, there is no cockpit voice recorder. They read the signs because otherwise they won't be able to know about upcoming stations, or happenings or conditions. They speak a bit loud because the noise inside the locomotive is really too much.

Why is it that in India there is 94% of the network electrified and there are still apparently modern diesel locomotives? In Italy we have many diesel lines but our locomotives are those from the 60s and 70s, they are demolishing them and they are no longer investing in diesel locomotives because the railway company wants to electrify the entire national network, but it will take several years just to get there at 80%, temporarily we still have diesel trains but there are fewer and fewer and they are almost all DMUs, recently we have dual mode trains, i.e. with pantograph and generator set but there is no longer investment in diesel locomotives. I don't understand why there are diesel trains under electric wire in India, they look like modern diesels. In Italy, many years ago, at least 20 years ago there were express trains with diesel locomotives under the electric wire because they ran along sections of the non-electrified network but today those sections are very short and have been replaced with dual mode trains. I believe that diesel trains can still be useful, because in my opinion it makes no sense to electrify low-traffic lines, because electrification is expensive to install and expensive to maintain, this locomotive seems like a nice machine to me!

Ali Mulla there r toilets now in Indian locomotives...though some but it is present..
