I found this channel through a reaction to Unleash The Archers (who I love, and was so happy when you interviewed Brittany!), and I have been *waiting* for you to cover Gloryhammer. Valhalleluja is the best Christmas song ever, but only just a taste of Angus. PLEASE do more Gloryhammer songs! I would recommend "Fires of Ancient Cosmic Destiny", but I don't think there are any live recordings, so you'd be staring at the album cover for the whole song, which I think you purposefully avoid here, so you can analyze vocal technique visually. There is another recording from this same set at Wacken of "The Hollywood Hootsman" that shows off a bit more of Thomas' upper range though, so maybe I'll recommend that. Also, I think they have several songs referencing undead unicorns shooting lasers from their eyes, which is why some in the audience brought unicorn plushies. :-) Your joy from this song really made my day!
I love the dunk on the short length for a metal song. If you're looking for something to fulfill the traditionally long length by them my go to would be Apocalypse 1992, the finale song of their second album that explains the story you read before listening to the song. It's a good, absurd time.
Turisas would be a good fit for you too. Costumes, power metal, epic lyrics. They’re great. Also: “Rise of the Chaos Wizards” is Gloryhammer’s finest work imho.
I can just imagine some super snooty snob coming up to you, just knowing you are a renowned opera performer asking what you do to relax, expecting you to answer collecting cars, spa trips, concertos, etc. Then their crestfallen expression when you tell them you play a tiefling bard, play video games and nerd out on power metal bands.
Imagine you went to Wacken, saw Gloryhammer and some days later you're going to a notary in Bern and you have their singer Thomas Winkler sitting in front of you ;-)

THUNDER STRIKING WIZARD THRASHER Hope You also watched the music video of that song - It's rad! Next Gloryhammer - Hootsforce - after Alestorm - Keelhauled!!! And May the 4th be with you!!
This reminds me of seeing Bal Sagoth maaaaaaany years ago - they stayed in character for the whole show to the extent that when they had sound issues part way through and the PA failed the lead singer went on a tirade about how the spirits were obviously conspiring to stop their show and we were encouraged to wish the evil away. It was glorious.
Blind And Frozen might be a better one to start off with because it really shows off Yannis' vocal range and is one of their "not really Berserk themed" songs. Or Cry Out for a Hero.
"Ghost In The Rain" or "Blind and Frozen" to see how long it takes Elizabeth to figure out whether it's a duet or not LOL. Or "Cry Out For A Hero" to hear his upper range...
How did I get here? :D I am literally in your video! And I can guarantee you, that the audience was great. In fact the whole Wacken festival is great. It's like one big metal family \m/ Really nice analysis of Angus McFife's vocal capabilities!
I was in that crowd 😃 this was like the second song and he just seemed to get stronger as the show went on. Wasn't happy when the weather turned to thunderstorms and cut it short for safety reasons... still got 95% of a full set 😁
Great reaction as always! I can't help but love the combo of your nerdiness with the professionalism of your reactions. On the topic of metal with a fantasy backstory, you should definitely react to Rhapsody/Rhapsody of Fire. They are a very influential band to many of todays power metal/symphonic metal bands. Their records form a saga which takes place in a fantasy world of their own making. Full of wizards, demons, elves, dragons and heroes. The music has a lot of classical influences, very complex production with loads of vocal tracks and they also use narrators to lead the story telling on. Christopher Lee was the narrator on their albums between 2004 and 2011. I would suggest Holy Thunderforce or Unholy warcry, but basically anything they did until 2011 is brilliant.
I am sooo glad that you did this video. I had so much fun watching you get so excited about watching this video. Listening to Gloryhammer really helped me keep my sanity through 2020 and honestly, I feel like not enough people give this band a chance because of how ridiculous the theme is. The singing and music for the band are amazing on every song and I've been wanting to see a vocal coach react to them forever. When I watched your Valhallelujah reaction, I just knew you were going to love Gloryhammer. I cannot wait for a marathon. XD
This was the best thing ever. Hope you'll save a couple of their other songs for reactions, but I'm sure we'll all understand completely if you get lost in the lore and just keep needing more
Actually its part of the cosmos of Christopher Bowes, lead singer of Alestorm. He is the creator of all that dorky universe as far as I have it correct in my mind. And he used to play the piano in Gloryhammer originally. Thomas Winkler wanted to become the new lead singer of the band Dragonforce, but they chose Marc Hudson when ZP Theart left the band. And as he was refused, Christopher Bowes asked him if he wants to become the leadsinger of his project Gloryhammer.
Since we're into nerdy stuff now. Any Protomen fans around? They're a rock band doing an alternate Megaman story. Two albums of the story released and at the moment I feel like they might release act 3 right after Half Life 3 comes out... I especially love the Ennio Morricone feel they have in some songs.

In The Land of Unicorns is typically how I recommend starting Gloryhammer. I thinks it's a fun song, and it gets non metal people hooked.
I hadn't been into metal and then TH-cam gave me Hootsforce and I haven't looked back.
That was my first one, now I'm a massive fan!
I was into metal already but hadn't found my favourite sub-genre yet and then TH-cam aggressively recommended me "The land of unicorns" until I listened to it. I've never looked back and been to a concert shortly before the first lockdown in Germany in February 2020. It was amazing. And I'm also fully into power metal now
This is my kind of metal! 🤘🤘🤘 Epic, sword and sorcery stuff, and clean vocals so inhumanly high they break my balls just trying to sing along. And the best part is that I didn't even know this band. Thank you for introducing them to me!
So glad you're doing these guys they're my absolute favorite sci-fi fantasy super hero power metal band out there.
After you do the live video from them you should do one of the actual music videos for some awesome ridiculousness. Rise of the Chaos Wizards (for the Iron Man version of Angus) or Hootsforce are great.
I SO agree. Great selections!
I agree with most of what you said, but it is not fiction. 1992% historically accurate .
@@jdbrisebois8732
Maybe you should try the original space metal Scanners debute album Hypertrace (1988).
I'm absolutely ecstatic to see you've decided to jump into GloryHammer. You just cannot go wrong with them!
Definetly want more Gloryhammer can't recommand a particular song the two last entire albums are gold
Your profile picture says, you're a man of culture xD (And your music taste)
honestly, all of their stuff is absolute gold.
I'm so glad there's another human on this planet that has put as much thought into Gloryhammer songs as I have.
18:12 Elizabeth going full "GLORY HAMMER!" is epic!
You have to listen to Avantasia - The Scarerow! The "duel" between Tobias Sammet and Jorn Lande is amazing, and the song itself is a work of art!
I’ve seen them twice, and he is able to sustain a full set in that tessitura. Truly incredible. Almost as good as Bruce Dickinson on stage too.
I love how the villain is also a member of the band. Like how Wonderboy and Young Nastyman teamed up to form Tenacious D.
So great to see Gloryhammer bring a smile to your face, that's what they do best, bring glory to the universe :) Extremely enjoyable band, best experienced live.
Thomas Winkler was auditioning for DragonForce in the UK where Chris Bowes saw/heard him and knew he'd be perfect for his project band, Gloryhammer 🤘 Mike Barber has taken over keys on tour since '16
Hoots!
I've been going through the comments and correcting all the Chris comments because Mike needs some love too!!
@@painey_pants Mike is a really cool guy 😎🤘
@@skullair52 I've never had the pleasure of meeting him but also have no reason to doubt you. :)
On a similar vibe, I think Elizabeth would love Manowar. The medieval/fantasy storytelling both bands do is super cool.
MANOWAR - Warriors Of The World United (Live) - OFFICIAL VIDEO would be fun
Or Lordi , that would be cool 😎
YES! I've been recomending them and Heart of Steel in particular for months...
@@sanktpaulidude4305 I would prefer something else for a vocals centered channel. Eric's range doesn't show much in that one.
@@luisnunes2010 I think Elizabeth would enjoy "Mountains". Brilliant song, amazing vocals.
Unicorns. The first album was a tale of how the evil sorcerer Zargothrax raised an army of undead unicorns to invade the Scottish region of Dundee.
Yes. do a full Gloryhammer review. Do all three albums. It is one continuous storyline. and it is so epic.
Elizabeth : ^ this ^
A full Gloryhammer review would be awesome! For those of you unfamiliar with the Gloryhammer's albums are structured like novels (disaster>questing>final battle/conclusion) in a series and each song is a chapter progressing the story along.
@@byronbroadley3000 To truely understand the sacrifice of the Hollywood Hootsman at the end of the 2nd album, you must know how he came to be. HAIL HOOTS!
I'd be totally down for a whole Gloryhammer deep dive lol! It would probably be a pretty long experience though, they have three full albums to cover! Gotta react to the Unicorn Invasion of Dundee and the Hootsforce at the very least!
"The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee" is still my favourite Gloryhammer song.
Yeah, that's the one my buddy introduced me to. No going back after that.
No chance she’s gonna react to them they’re so underrated its sad.
the amount of respect you just gain for saying hammerdin in the video is next level!!! NERD FAM!!!!!!!
Then the crestfallen snob is immediately trampled by a stampede of dudes trying to win her over.
@@oglschmittI mean honestly though
Honestly whenever someone asks me what kind of band Gloryhammer is I just show them this beauty of a title "The Epic Rage of Furious Thunder".
The tower is high and mighty, we cannot climb the walls, we must find our way through the secret tunnels of the dwarves...
Imagine you went to Wacken, saw Gloryhammer and some days later you're going to a notary in Bern and you have their singer Thomas Winkler sitting in front of you ;-)
Another professional reaction. Love love love yours reactions. Can't wait for another Blind Guardian reaction.
Saw Gloryhammer in Dallas in either 2019 or 2018. Great job live! The crowd control security guard started laughing uncontrollably when Angus broke out the hammer!
Be prepared for the unicorn invasion of Dundee!

have you done a video on When Crows Tick On Windows by Carach Angren because they do very performative music and i wonder what you would think about them
you probably dont care but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can watch all of the latest movies on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my brother recently xD
@Moises Reid Yup, been watching on instaflixxer for years myself :)
@Moises Reid Definitely, I have been watching on instaflixxer for since december myself =)
When you see inflatable swords in the crowd you know it's gonna be good.
There was some inflatable ponies to ride on in a gig in Stockholm :D
I love how much you enjoyed this. This is such a goofy fun song. And that "Yeeeeahhh!" at the end was something James Hetfield would be proud of!
yeeeeeaaaaaaAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH
You should absolutely do more Gloryhammer reactions.
And after a few, once you're invested enough in the story...
React to "The Fires of Ancient Cosmic Destiny".
It's a musical culmination of epic proportions!
I saw these guys live along Necrogoblikon and Wind Rose, all of them very nice people to talk to!
IN HOOTS WE TRUST!
I am a professional singer and have been my whole life girlfriend. And I can honestly say I love your show. Your voice is spectacular you should record an album.
I have been thinking of doing a Holiday album sometime, but for now. . . would you settle for some more music videos and released house concert footage? ;-)
@@TheCharismaticVoice I think doing a holiday album is a spectacular idea. If you need a really good baritone I'm Your Man. Absolutely yes I would love to see anything that you have done in the past or the present. That's actually a pretty cool idea Maybe we should do a duet or something. Islands in the Stream?
@@TheCharismaticVoice TH-cam has been approaching me about starting my own channel. Because of all the like that I get from people. I have plenty of things I could put on a channel. I sing and I play a mean slide guitar I write books and poetry it's just coming up with the time and the resources to do the bloody show. Any tips on how you balance your show with your life.
@@TheCharismaticVoice that would be a great move girl. Instead of breaking down other artists work I would love to see some of yours instead that would be awesome. Very helpful for the career as well.
@@TheBigGSN5 you must have never heard the Beach Boys Christmas album or the Carpenters Christmas album those are seriously great Christmas albums. Guaranteed to take away the bah humbugs.
I must brag for a teeny tiny moment here… I was front row at this concert!
When she said "I just can't get over the costumes" I was like, "I can't wait to see her react to GWAR."
this video was my first intro to Glory hammer! Soo much fun! only found this channel today and I'm loving the nerdy/metal/dnd/gaming interests too. Definitely subbed.
PS: I also play monk.
We need a full Gloryhammer album reaction. They are ridiculous and fantastic.
Gloryhammer is one of my favourite bands, and this video is what got me into your reaction and analysis videos too! I thoroughly look forward to your overall review of all of Gloryhammers current 3 stories. You are a musical treasure and you do best reaction/analysis videos out there imo, so informative and they make me want to learn more about music theory too. Thank you!
The armor from Angus and Zargothrax are standard leather armor made by the company Andracor ^^
You can buy them there ^^
D&D meets metal I'm in love with this band Thomas has another band called angus mcsix they are amazing too
Uh that is the Gloryhammer live version from the "Full Show Aborted by Zargothrax' Evil Spell " Wacken Performance! Love it! - It was actually a
threatening thunderstorm - Zargothrax trying an Emperor Palpatine Dark Sidious move.
Or the Gloryhammer just went nuts....

Hope You also watched the music video of that song - It's rad!
Laser powered VOCAL SMASHER

May the fourth be with you!!!
May The 4th be with you too. Always.
Thank you, I love watching your reactions and breakdowns. You teach, I learn.
Should I start my lobbying to have Battlebeast and Beast in Black songs ? (check out Berserker from Beast in Black)
And "Raven" or "Fight kill die" by Battle Beast
Blind And Frozen might be a better one to start off with because it really shows off Yannis' vocal range and is one of their "not really Berserk themed" songs. Or Cry Out for a Hero.
"Ghost In The Rain" or "Blind and Frozen" to see how long it takes Elizabeth to figure out whether it's a duet or not LOL. Or "Cry Out For A Hero" to hear his upper range...
How did I get here? :D
I am literally in your video! And I can guarantee you, that the audience was great. In fact the whole Wacken festival is great. It's like one big metal family \m/
Really nice analysis of Angus McFife's vocal capabilities!
Holy Thunderforce is basically a hymn to all nerdom! I can't wait to see a reaction to that!
XD
The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee is definitely a must listen.
Important to note is the keyboardist is Chris Bowes, the lead vocalist of Alestorm.
To be fair, if you grew up in Dundee then becoming a Dark Emperor™ is a totally valid career choice.
raises hammer with intent.
Learning about "tessitura" is a prime example of why this channel is so.... freaking.... amazing! Plus, eyebrows rock! Keep doing what you do Liz!
Gloryhammer is like Dio and Dethklok had a kid who grew up watching He-Man and Flash Gordon and decided to make music and its freaking epic!!!
You sir, have absolutely nailed this, the offspring of Dio and deathklok indeed, fucking epic
So sad to see that this video has lower view count than the other videos, as I just found you through it.
Hopefully we still get more Gloryhammer :)
Hail to Hoots!!!!
This was the best thing ever. Hope you'll save a couple of their other songs for reactions, but I'm sure we'll all understand completely if you get lost in the lore and just keep needing more
Metal Cheese, With Nutella! Wizard-Thrashing good time! Gotta turn that hammer into a Maul-Mic
Given that on one phone my ringtone is metal Megaman x's intro and on the other it is metal Protoman theme, I literally have to check those guys out.
Please do more of their songs!!! they are sooo amazing!!!
Yes yes yeeeeeeessssssss!!!!
