I remember I noticed a strange detail with this neighbourhood. It was when a lot of younger npc were sent to college, others either became playable or were turned into vampires. The Sims started generating new npc and they all were teenage boys who looked almost like Tybalt Capp from Veronaville with the exception of their clothes and their hair colour. By the way, there is a teenage npc girl in the neighbourhood from the start, who looks slightly similar to Juliet Capp (Willow Kody or something like this). Probably, the developers just used their old Veronaville files for creating npc in this new neighbourhood. As for the neighbourhood, I made it interesting with pre-made University students and with their kids :)
Actually it makes me so happy to hear! It's different things that catch our attention and liking - for example I also never really played in Veronaville either. So it's great, that Desiderata Valley is for you 😊 😊
I agree, it's a boring neighbourhood! And such ugly architecture!! I do think the sims have some of the more unique faces though, especially compared to the basegame hoods which mostly just use default templates. I also think it can be a fun neighbourhood to get more creative or experimental with - since it has less of a canon "story" you can get a bit wild with it and start your own drama! :D Or I guess for players that don't want lots of drama and want more of a cozy slice-of-life gameplay, it could be nice. In my own game I overhauled it to make more use of the beach area & made it into a tropical world :D it looks beautiful now but still is not one of my favorites to play with because I just don't care for the families, haha
I love the idea of making it an entirely new place with new architecture and canon! I usually don't have the patience or 'endurance' to commit to an idea that extents to the entire the neighborhood - but sometimes I try anyway 😊 Thank you so much for commenting!
Youre right that its the least interesting of all the neighborhoods. Mainly because unlike the other neighborhoods, all the story in this hood is about hobbies and freetime lol But you know, sims 2 is so crazy especially with all the expansions i guess theres nothing wrong with a neighborhood being "normal" 😊
That's true! 😊 And I really appreciate the hobbies that came with Freetime. I especially love it in combination with Open for Business, and I keep having games where my simmers live off their creative hobbies. Such fun! Thank you for commenting 😊

The mansion past the railway did not come with the neighborhood. It's from the lot bin with mansion and garden stuff.
But I didn't put it there myself and forget about it, right? 😂
