Yeah, I actually had to do this job again as animals again chewed this hose and I picked up some fuel line pliers that made disconnecting those lines a lot easier. I wrapped the hose in aluminum tape and rubbed old grease all over it to discourage animals from chewing it again
You did it the proper way, but wow, that was a lot of work. I bet that pre formed Mopar hose wasn't cheap. I will cut out the bad section of tube and take a length of larger hose sized to fit over the remaining tube, silicone it up and add a bit of duct tape and we will be good to go.
I feel like some snap ring pliers would have made this job a lot easier. Am I wrong for thinking this? I just ordered the same hose for mine because I have same issue. Some rodent ate my hose up!
@@Overdose140 yes, the next time I did this job (they chewed this new hose too!) I got some better pliers. I also wrapped all the evap lines in aluminum tape and smeared them with grease. Haven’t had a chewing issue since.
I will have to check the hoses. I replaced the gas cap and evap system integrity monitor and still getting the gas cap and check engine light. Start small and work from there. Truck is always outside and we have mice outside. I sure hope it's a hose lol
Just a reference there are attachments for fuel pressure line you slide on the other end and pull them back to push out those lock mechanisms. Sorry I just came across this video but maybe it can help others in the future.
@@DVeck89 You would think someone would make a coating to those hoses that would leave a bad taste in the animals mouth to prevent that. They have such a coating on Nintendo switch game cartridges.
I had that issue. There is a vent filter beside the filler neck. To access it you need to take out the plastic wheel well. The filter is encased in plastic that easily comes off. It is a pleated filter. Just give it a good tap or brush it vacuum it out whatever it takes to get the dust out. You'll be able to fill your tank like normal again.
It's a pain just to replace the ESIM switch since you have to push in on the locking tab on the switch and at same time turn the switch and that heat shield is right in the way.
You might have to drop the fuel tank to do that. In my experience it's rare that the canister actually goes bad though unless the tank has been overfilled a lot; continuing to pump gas after the pump stops etc.
@@elraiderjefe7773 I don’t think this specific model is available anymore but any cheap code reader that looks like it should do the same thing. Think I got it like 15 years ago.
I've had a check engine light on my 2017 for quite some time, spark plug....then this code...it was the module and that light is gone...spark plugs are my next issue...those V6 plugs and coils are ridiculous procedure to change out what should take 15 minutes in the older vehicles...not anymore...they want you to go to their dealerships for $$$$ repairs
Can someone plug in a reader and tell me what the gas vapor pressure in the tank should read. Mine reads 146pa. I think if fixed my eBay issue but need to keep driving to clear the codes. Can’t find what it’s meant to be anywhere so if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you brother I was having the same problem this video really helped out
me too, looks like a squirrel chewed up my hose, weird
Great video. I replaced mine today. The hardest part was disconnecting the hose. Other than that it would have been a half hour job.

How do you remove the charcoal canister? I can’t get mine off the top of the tank. The old one doesn’t show any bolts or anything. Please help.

I was going to suggest the very same thing. Nonetheless, good job.

Yep, EVAP issues can be a pain to trace. In one vehicle I had it ended up being a corroded connector that goes to the purge or vent valve.
Did you ever fix it? Been battling mine for months.
Your video has given me some food for thought. I'm going to crawl my ass under this truck and check those lines. Thanks in advance 😊
That looked like pure hell to replace that line. Why didn't you try wrapping the line with some butyl tape?

True, I actually had to do this job again thanks to squirrels chewing this line AGAIN and that time I found the right tool for these lines

My truck has all these codes. But also it would take fuel at fuel stations takes 45 mins to fill up the tank. Would this be related to

that hose with the hole is a fume hose return yes ?
Yeah it carried gasoline vapor from the gas tank to the charcoal canister
So it could take a few days or so for it to all come together?
It could take a few days for the codes to totally clear, yes.
What the link to the code reader?

Name of hose and size please
Part number for the hose is in the video description.

You still have that fz6?
No I sold it years ago
Tsii.
I’m cheap, I would have just spliced at the hole and been done with it….lol
Where did you get the code reader?
I think I got it at autozone years ago
Harmful to the atmosphere? Lol, c’mon man
