  • A piece that few pianists put in their repertoire. Shio follows in the footsteps of Yuja Wang, who gave a stunning performance of it in 2008. Shio chooses a slightly slower tempo, but her playing, again, is full of grace. She is to Yuja what air is to fire.

She plays beautiful and not to be compared with Yuja or any other player. Yuja did this piece years ago fantastically plus continues to perform ia gigantic repertoire that started twenty years ago.

Thank you for your comment. I would like to point out that I created my channel in honor of Yuja Wang, of whom I am a fervent admirer, and of whom I have published, with score, a large number of videos. I do not claim that Shio Okui has a work and a career as a pianist comparable to Yuja's. But it is not forbidden to compare two interpretations of the same piece. Funny thing: when Yuja Wang was still not well known, I compared her to famous pianists and was reproached for this comparison. Now Yuja is famous, and I get the opposite criticism. But the good I think of Shio Okui does not take away from the admiration I have for Yuja Wang. With kinds regards.
