"You need to treat a Bethesda game like a child with special needs!" -Most accurate words ever!
"My boy Toddy can't poop by himself, we as a family have to help him do it every time."
Then that means you would have to care and no one does.
I'm just sick of Bethesda's lack of quality control, people accept this mediocre quality and chalk it up to "It's a Bethesda game". Granted most people with that attitude towards Bethesda probably by the new IPhone every year so they can't be saved.
Played, refunded, went back to Baldur's Gate 3 where I can do whatever the ef I want... and have an incredible good written game.
Except walk around freely. Lol
I was almost going to save the druids and teethlings, but decided to go with Minthara last minute. What a great decision. She's a real fun character from a roleplaying standpoint. The only one to truly understand the Urge.
One of the dumbest design decisions amongst the others is that you can't craft ammo in the game.
After being able to break down guns and craft ammo on the fly in cyberpunk 2077, this is such a mind fuck.
I enjoy the starship combat in the game, but traveling using the menu screens sucks. You get to a solar system, can see the planets, yet you still have to open the menu again to land anywhere. It feels like work.
I agree with you....but one thing in Cp2077 still has me annoyed is that ......."What? They dont have a flashlight or cybernetic eyes that illuminate dark areas?"
Despite all the patches they STILL do not have a flashlight in CP2077!😂🤣
@@mephistoxarses8585 wait... now that you mention it, we don't have flashlight in cp2077 , I just realize that 🤣🤣
Ammo was never a problem for me in any previous Bethesda titles but Starfield is so stingy with ammo I tried keeping one weapon of each ammo type on my ship but everything is so incredibly cumbersome I just can't, its so frustrating because everything seems like it's designed just to lengthen game runtime and nothing about any of the quest I've come across are even mildly interesting, I have tried to enjoy it but there is no enjoyment I could find.
@@Thanatos3_4 I got tired of running out of ammo and having to use the shitty guns the enemies have. I remember you could craft and convert ammo in fallout new Vegas. Not sure why Bethesda didn’t give us the option to breakdown unneeded guns and ammo for what we actually need. It’s a futuristic game for goodness sakes. I hit the shops and buy all the ammunition for the 3 guns that I like only to burn through that supply in a mission or two.
@@mephistoxarses8585 You know what? That's so downright obvious that I only realized that just now. 😂
Skyrim was full of useless junk too. Remember wooden cups, plates, spoons, cloth, pails, parchment . . . . ? All useless junk that served no purpose but for set decoration.
The one thing Bethesda does better than anyone else is they provide a sandlot for modders. That's it. That's what every Bethesda game is. A sandlot. All Todd does is provide an environment for the sandlot; space, retro future, or medieval past, take your pick.
not all true there is a lot in the games but the modding capability is something that's actually really good as tod said he wants the game to last 10 years and if creation engine 2 is well better than 1 i can see that happening. take skyrim for example which stays around the top 50 moist current players despite being 12yo, a single player game and not heavily updated like the rest which shows that mods keep this game up there.
After experiencing this game... I'm honestly not to excited for ES6 anymore at the moment.
the funniest part of all of this is the Xbots still trying to claim that PS5 has 'no games', that anyone hating on Starfield are ponies or part of some.... grand conspiracy designed to make Xbox fail... that we PS players are apparently salty at not getting Starfield. No, we're getting Stellar Blade, new Horizon games, Spider-Man 2... we also share the BG3 awesomeness. So delusional Xbots and fanboys like OhNoItsAlex are living in their own universe as I'm not hearing true PS players crying or lamenting over being spared the failure that Starfield is turning out to be
"Starfield is a great game that's missing the fundamentals of gameplay"
???
We're reaching transcendent levels of copium that shouldn't be physically possible.
There are people who think in this way. For example, this mindset is mandatory if you are an active Twitter user.
“16 TIMES THE ITEMS!!”
Mass Effect did it better. End of story.
Man the Swedish chef is pissed
"Starfield is massive" Massive in area, but mostly empty.
A Bethesda game, a Bethesda game. What I've seen from this "game" that is from a company that has access to a Kzillion dollars, access to the finest technology(??????), access to the finest talent in the industry annnndddd had SEVEN YEARS? Annndddd all the time they've been around, it seems, not ONE lesson learned orrr at least applied. They couldn't even put an FOV slider in the game. They got crap for it in 76, people were getting sick, they HAD TO put in THAT one. Yeeaarrss later? "Ohhh oppps did we forget that? Oh, the modders, the modders". Melee, what I've seen? yeah did the SAME thing in...Oblivion. SOME is good and SOME is bad. Does that cut it? yes, yes the poor, poor KZILLION dollar entity.
mans out here complaining about them not learning One LeSsOn but only states fov one of the smaller easier things there is
@@JohnDoe-ou7mqthe fov slider is just an example of a larger issue. Also the fact that melee is still a mess was mentioned.
Realistically, it's feasible that within a year we could see the entirety of Skyrim modded onto a planet somewhere. I say this only because Bethesda will not move on from the antiquated creation engine that has been both a crutch and a hindrance to their growth.
@@Wearywastrel and what move to unreal 5? so then we can get even buggier games?
@@JohnDoe-ou7mq you really don't have any faith in Bethesda to use modern tools and make a good game?
@@Wearywastrel sqaure enix did the same thing with Kingdom hearts 3 the luminous studio engine and while yes they did swap for a good reason it push the games date way back because they had to learn how to use a new engine.
It's not as easy as swapping a pair of shoes when you change game engines.
So why would you make all of your employees that have grown used to using the same engine suddenly changed because people say hey your engine sucks instead of updating it and fixing it what you can do.
'A child with special needs' 😂😂😂
I haven't played Baldur's Gate since Tales of the Sword Coast. All I remember is " The eyes Buu. Go for the eyes".
It's fun he brings up the dispute over the planet as that mission killed the game for me. It's fun to shoot stuff and steal everything, but the game it's self is unfinished.
you are over encumbered 99.9% of the time you are playing this game, there is no picking up junk or anything really coz you pick up 2 guns you are are already overweight.
There is absolutely ZERO Bladerunner influence in the aesthetic of this game.
I swear.
These people speak as if they have some intelligence and then five seconds later they are talking straight nonsense.
I would also say a lot of their marketing spun this to be a simulator of sorts. Someone asked Todd if 1000s of dead empty planets would be boring and Todd replied "Astronauts walking on the moon don't get bored." and went on to assure folks that exploring planets would be exciting like that. It would have to simulate the moon grain for grain of walking on a barren rock were to be interesting
If that's the case then it should be a lot more difficult to reach different planets to make the travel itself rewarding and the gameplay should revolve around that. The planets themselves would serve primarily to fuel, repair and upgrade your ship. Then it'd be more like a puzzle game with the goal being exploring as far as possible. Which could be really fun honestly.
But Starfield is not that, Todd's comment is like how Fallout 76 originally had no npcs because it was about "making your own fun" and is kinda insulting to anyone who works in space exploration. It's an excuse, nothing more, and a poor one at that.
These fanboys actually think this is GOTY material. 😂😂😂
If there is no bacteria in space or on a planet abandoned for a hundred years, would food even go bad?
Yes. water, energy and oxygen will also break down food. As far as space don't forget a star is a nuclear reactor so organic materials would last no time.
Possibly not, there was a time period on Earth where trees didn't decompose because no organism had evolved to eat them yet.
@@beeeazy9818 Food is not alive. Your cells in your body has to repair itself every day. Your body doesn't start to decay when you die. It's decaying all the time. The machinery in your cells keeps your cell together. Water itself will break down your cells. This is the benefit of a freeze dryer and dehydrator removing water from food.
@@smidlee7747 Well that depends on what exact food you're referring to but if it was alive it would'nt live long in space anyway...and water doesn't exist in liquid form in deep space. Being too close to a star wouldn't make the food "go bad" per se, it would most likely just vaporize it.
@@smidlee7747 Trees didn't decompose during that time period because the micro organism that broke down wood didn't exist yet and in deep space none of those microbes exist to break down anything
theres content...Just not engaging content...boring fetch quests...the random encounters you get in space..i think their only like 3. or 4. their are only a few bounties that are just repeatable. their are so many copy pasta bases on planets it gets boring so fast. The story is meh. the dialog is cheesy af. I know I shouldnt compare the 2, but after playing bg3 the dialog from starfield felt so bland. i'm 99% on my first playthrough, I have one more activity before hitting ng+. the loading screens, the menu gating is all to keep you in the game longer, another reason why it was free on day one on gamepass. and why leveling is so slow. they want you playing the game as long as possible. more artificial b.s atleast theirs no micro transactions right?! I'm not saying the game is terrible. 5/10. But if it wasn't for the moddiing community the bethesda depends on so badly i'd bet 70% of the PC community wouldnt be playing this game. once the shills are done shilling, all in all its a pretty boring game.
In No Man's Sky, theres caves bigger than some of the maps in Starfield, and i mean LITERALLY, last night i spent almost 2 hours trying to get out from a cave (without using the mining tool), by just explore the cave system, when i finally found out a way out, it was a massive wall to climb, my reward was that once i got out from the cave i realize that i was climbing a massive mountain and reach the top become a priority, once i finally made to the top of the mountain, there was a space jaguar trying to turn me into his meal (and i mean it, it was really a space jaguar with feline traits and all).
And today i saw a vid of guy that the first thing he says is that the most compared game with Starfield is NMS, but spent half and hour comparing every other game in existence with Starfield (and even claminng that Starfield and Baldur's Gate 3 are alike lol), but avoiding comparing NMS with Starfield like the devil avoids the cross.
@@efxnews4776 the first part sonuds really boring but to each their own, but the second part you can't compare Starfeild to NMS that much because they're 2 different types of games, and if you really try to compare starfield to BG3 your a feckin idjit.
Starfeild to no mans sky only thing you can really compare is the space aspects and what you were talking about and with BG3 it's mostly the adventure aspect of the game.
I tried to be a pirate but the second I left the planet after stealing and killing somebody I had a bunch of level 30 ships trying to take me down meanwhile I was only level four
Bad boy
Isn't that how thief in real life. Sometime you got arrest by lieutenant bad day for you.
@gunsk853 the problem is its almost forcing you to be nice
@@Whelp140Whelp guess u gotta git gud
But apparently "you can be anything you want" in this game. Next time, try and role play an accountant, hairdresser or chef perhaps? We've all seen it stated as objective fact "you can be anything". Or perhaps that is just not quite true? That you really can be one of only 2 things? A baddy (pirate) or a goody (not pirate).
I don't understand the arguments that the game is a deep RPG.
There are a lot of "skills", I guess. But you develop them one at a time, with the vast majority of them being literally just incremental increases to that one thing. There are zero base attributes or secondary or tertiary attributes. There don't seem to be any differential categories of armor that you can specialize in, just always choose the one with the best numbers. The number of interchangeable options for a full kit of gear seems to be pretty small (helmet, suit, backpack, clothes). Fallout 4 had the layered armor system, and skyrim at least had a couple rings and an amulet you could also equip.
This poor fanboi is coping so hard! 🤣
After 7 years of development, Bugthesda somehow succeeded to barely make Fallout 4 in space, but somehow even WORSE!
It's even got many of the same bugs from Fallout 4, so their talk about "Creation Engine 2" is a lie, this is the same old Creation Engine with the same old bugs since Morrowind!
They couldn't be bothered to even fix the well-known bugs that community devs have to re-fix with every game release. The modders can fix those bugs, but the devs with access to the entire source code somehow cannot. What a joke!
What’s so massive about it?
I hear that a lot.
It’s massively empty.
And full of pointless missions that have zero impact.
what do you think?
I think development was going stale, so they just kicked it out the door. People were probably quitting or retiring, and you can't just expect new people to pick up an old product and finish it well.
Bethesda peaked with Skyrim (arguably). Some say Oblivion. Either way it's been downhill for Bethesda for years now.
The whole reason they continually use the creation engine is because they need the modders to fix their lazy work and to extend the life of the game. Without mods, Bethesda games would be a one and done game for pretty much everyone and there wouldn't be nearly as many sales.
Starfield is a 3/10 game.
Most of the quests have 2+ ways to finish them... side with the pirates or go with the army ... that's it, nothing in between. But doesn't matter what you choose, the only impact that you will ever see is that if you side with the pirates, they won't attach you anywhere... the annoying part of that is that everyone is giving you greave "how con you do that... people will get attached" bla bla bla ... I haven't seen any quests following that decision that would influence what the NPCs keep telling me... like literally only +++ come out of that because you get 250k, you can do your missions without even having to fight and I think I found 1 quest on one planet and some dudes where about to get attacked (this was before I finished the quest line but I was already on it so I was a pirate) and you can talk to the pirates that where about to attack and perused them not to... again this is not because I finished that quest line this quest would have been there anyway. So even "major" decision that even the ball will remind you of, have no repercussion on the actual world. Compare that with BG3 if you side with the gremlins and what are the implications coming out of that... yea yea ... this game feel like has text RP and even that is not convincing because nothing really changes in the world
Please stop bullcrapping out of your mouth and don't even dare try to bring bg3 trash into this
Dude Baldur Gate 3 is on a whole other level from any game, even New Vegas in ways to finish. I mean there's a dozen plus variations on EVERY mission. Things change drastically based on your class, race, if you killed someone close to quest giver or etc. etc. etc. So many variables.
@@jonny-b4954 buldurs gate 3 is a porno and haram as it uses games of chance (roll of dice) as a skill mechanic. It's a game aimed at one thing, rape enablement.
@@jonny-b4954 and the only difference between the companies (besides Bethesda being rated at 7.5 billions $) is the fact that Larion put passion and created an RP game, because they wanted to create a game; on the other side, Bethesda hires 70+ contractors from allover the world, to do all the underpaid work and then puts together a mess of a game (but in order to do that, everything has to be already dead inside and seat on an assembly line)... no wonder is feels like a dead rat that is missing the organs when we tried to play it. The annoying part is that I paid the same amount for both... that should not happen, we should be entitled to at least a bugless game if we pay for one, even if it sucks.
Seems to me they basically ripped off Stat Citizen in a way I just wish it was STAR Citizen that was out for console
I really like that it begun with "The game of the generation" to a "Besthesda game" 1 day after the release. LOL. Trash.
It will be hard for anyone to top no man's sky at this point. I have no hope for ES6 until it's announced that they abandoned the creation engine entirely for its development. I think Microsoft will make the right call but......
Even this guys voice is of corporate shill.Only people he is fooling is casual normies.
The guns in this game reminds me of the senseless detail bloat you get in AI art 🤮
Not necessarily a contradiction: e.g. there are RPGs that are full of well-done content, but don't allow for fast resting or fast saving.

its a fun game, alreayd many hours in it and i like it, its bethesda, you dont like bethesda, keep walking.
I *do* like Bethesda. But they’ve refused to evolve. What was new & exciting 12 years ago is now dull and dated. They’re not keeping pace with developments in the industry. It’s the same with any creative activity: if a band releases album after album of predictable, unadventurous, samey music, people will get tired of that band, regardless of how fresh and exciting they once were. I don’t get why Bethesda should be treated any differently.
