Hopefully they DONT keep the transformations separate from the main/base character icons. Would rather them go back to tenkaichi 3 than xenoverse where transformations actually count as separate characters

I dont think it will work like this, especially after people (including me obviously) complain about this character selection. The characters are separate tho, just like in BT3, but the thing is how they show it in the layout, this looks terrible xd.

My guess is they’ll have 3 separate goku’s but when you hover over it’ll show the available transformations along side the techniques and their names (Mid, end of Z, Super)
That select screen needs a huge rework, but when the match starts the gameplay really shines.
It doesn't need any reformulation.

I dont know why but BT3 feels much more realistic than this, the stiff movements and long cutscene of super attacks just isnt it for me. Goku mid ssj pose looks much better in BT3 as well

Yeah I'm sure you noticed the blatant openings after combos. The lack of rushing, the continuous spamming of melee even when guarded. A pro bout will be way more intense.

I was more of a fan having Goku as one character like in Raging Blast instead of splitting it into his phases. They could gave him customizable movesets for his supers.
I love the separate eras because we get Super Saiyan with the "fluffy" hair. Though i will say it looked much better in BT3. Still cool that they did it here

In the tenkaichi series ( especially tenkaichi 2) there was a feature, where the more ki the characters had charged, the more visible their aura effect around body was.. but I dont see that here :(

Personally I think the character select screen is too basic. I like the concept where the characters fly in on a already loaded stage but make the UI a little bit flashier. Give the characters the Iconic poses and/or cool aura. Add a stage music selection too and the it'll be golden.
This is just a demo, the select screen will change when the game comes out

That is a ridiculously cluttered select screen.
They are the same characters FFS.
I still don't agree with each form taking up a character slot. There's already 11 Goku’s and 13 Vegeta’s, so almost 30 character slots are wasted on 2 characters. Not to mention there are still many more Goku’s and Vegeta’s to come, such as OG DB, DBGT, and possibly even movie versions as well.
Before anyone says "that's how BT3 did it", no it's not. In BT3 each transformation was consolidated within 1 character, and if you selected that character, additional slots would pop up displaying transformations, and people chose to count transformations separately. Sparking! Zero is cheating us.
When you really think about it, we're getting less characters than BT3, because over the last 2 decades goku and vegeta have doubled the amount of transtormations they've unlocked, so you're automatically counting multiple "NEW" versions of the same character, leaving less room for ACTUAL unique characters.
If you look at Frieza’s character slots, you can see just how ridiculous giving transformations their own slots are. He chose final form Frieza, but the game automatically blacked out both final form and golden Frieza, so when it’s all said and done, on the character select screen it appears as if he chose 4 characters, even though he chose 3 characters, so it could look confusing to players.
Bt 3 claimed to have 160 or 161 characters so yeah, it also counted transformations as different characters
