    Just what I needed. Glad I found you.

      Awesome! Just remember there is no phantom power.

    How is the sound quality? Have you tried them in a live setting?

    • @HackingHollywood
      @HackingHollywood  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes and they sound fine :) The only noticeable difference is it's cleaner than longer XLR runs because of interference.

    Can this work with the x32, I don’t have a stagebox and I only need 4 Channels in and 4 channels out, can I use this as a “stagebox”

      You would need 2 of these but yes it would work. You don’t get phantom power so keep that in mind.

    Thanks for the video. Does it only do Cat 5 or does it do Cat 6 and Cat 7 too? Please advise. Thanks.

    • @HackingHollywood
      @HackingHollywood  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it should do both 6 and 7.

      @@HackingHollywood Thanks for getting back to me. Do you know of anything like this that sends video? Preferably via HDMI? I have an 8 channel switcher and would love a way to wrangle all of the video cables for it in this way.

    Cool tool. Be even cooler if they had a parallel thru

      You could *potentially* do this with an RJ45 splitter. They won't work properly for general network purposes, but given how this just used the 4 twisted pairs of a CAT cable it should work fine in theory.

    Does it need to be connected directly to one another or can you use the network? Could I probably use it as an expander?

    • @HackingHollywood

      Unfortunately I believe it has to be connected to one another. They are dummy boxes and don’t get assigned IP’s.

    Could I use this to add extra xlr inputs to my Rodecaster

    • @HackingHollywood
      @HackingHollywood  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it’s a 1 to 1 connection, meaning it just extends each channel. You’d have the same number of inputs.

    Can they pass phantom from a mixer? Do I need a specific cable to do so?

    • @HackingHollywood
      @HackingHollywood  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a great question. I haven’t tried that yet. I’ll let you know if I find out!

      @@HackingHollywood I tested this out. The black cable that was recommended by Amazon isn’t shielded. So therefor won’t pass phantom power. The blue cable by lyxpro is shielded. That one will pass phantom power.

    Nice video...I am considering these for a recording studio setup..My digital mixer however does support AVB and has an Ethercom connector on the back of the mixer, so I am curious if this could be plugged in directly. Would you know if they make these with more channels per breakout box? Thanks

      I haven’t seen ether on or more ports but that would be awesome!

    Work For in ear ?

    • @HackingHollywood
      @HackingHollywood  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it will pass on signal for monitoring. It’s just that all 4 ports will be either male or female on each end (unless you redo one on your own).

      No phantom unfortunately.

      @@HackingHollywood If using Shielded TP ethernet cable, Phantom is usually supported.
