Here's a quick review of the properties of the three main categories of shielded twisted pair cable to help you make an informed decision. Personally, I would avoid un-shielded cable of any category, regardless of whether I was using phantom power or not. Unshielded twisted pair cables do not offer much resistance to radio frequency or electromagnetic interference. These descriptions are as intended by the IEEE, and what quality cable manufacturers will deliver. Low cost manufacturers from a certain part of the world can and will cheat on the specs and designs, which means you might not be getting what you thought or wanted.
CAT 5e STP - 4 pairs of twisted wires inside a metalized plastic wrapper (similar to the wrapper on many hard candies, but with a metal film) with a bare drain wire, some thin non-conductive nylon strands (like a tiny, non-braided nylon rope) as a strengthener / anti stretch mechanism all sealed inside a PVC jacket. Technically intended for 100mbps Ethernet data up to 100 meters of run length (but can and usually will do better).
CAT 6 STP - basically, the same as above in design, except we now substitute the nylon "rope" for a plastic "conductor separator". The conductor separator has a cross section of a + (a cross of equal proportions), and one pair of wires runs in each of the 4 corners of the + when viewed in cross section. This tends to make CAT6 STP quite unwieldy, as the conductor separator is a solid plastic, and is not particularly flexible. Because of this, CAT6 is very allergic to sharp bends & kinks, you will ruin it quickly if you don't treat it right. It works best in permanent installations. Technically intended for up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet up to 100 meters of run length. Each wire is thicker than CAT5e, and each pair has more twists per meter, making it more resistant to interference and crosstalk.
CAT 7 STP - This is a completely different animal. Each twisted pair of wires is individually shielded in metalized plastic, and all four shielded pairs have an overall braided shield under the outer PVC jacket. These is also a bare drain wire inside the braided shield, and a nylon anti stretch thread. CAT7 is NOT an IEEE standard, so it can be fabricated as a manufacturer sees fit, and does not have specific transmission speed standards it must meet, although it's generally accepted that 10 Gigabit Ethernet to 100 meters is required minimum spec.
CAT 8 STP - this is the actual IEE standard version of CAT 7, and should be constructed as described above in CAT 7. Technically intended for up to 40 Gigabit Ethernet up to 30 meters, or greater distances at lower speeds.
CAT 7 and CAT 8 are great for audio, since the signal is being handled more or less like there are 4 tiny XLR cables inside a single jacket, but with even better shielding.

There are a handy item and great for low channel count, point to point drops.
As for the "suggestion" to use shielded cable, if you want to use phantom powered mics you "must" use shielded (STP) cable. The shield also gives the cable a bit more mechanical protection.
I do not use these with just the RJ45 connectors but always use Ethercon connectors. A little more $$ but well worth it!

I only had them for a couple days but after opening them up and inspecting them. I’ll say they are OK quality.
don’t step on them and you’ll be fine.
XLR’s are no names but seems also seems durable enough.
They worth there price.
If you want more durability, there’s other options out there with all Neutrik connectors but they run more then double the price par box.

I would'nt use this for mic level signals, becouse you cuold get cross leaks betwine channales. espacelly if you use mic pre amps in and line level out on the same cat6 cable. if you would use it for line level only (in's and out's) no problam.
Not true - it works great on mic level signals. I have used Ethernet cable for permanent snakes for almost 20 years in places like inner city churches where their budget is non existent.
I just finish a event where I run around 150ft in wall for 2 podium mics, with 48V more then fine.
There is no shielding until what CAT 7?
I have shielded Cat5, its was available but not standard before.
I am from Europe and desperately want one of those XLR to RJ45 Boxes to build my own sub snake but it seems like as soon as I switch my location in temu to somewhere in europe they are not available and don't even show up in the search results :/ thanks temu! :/
