Yes I would hate to be entry right now, there’s absolutely no jobs for entry level people in cyber right now. It’s become too saturated, everything is senior level or more. 8+ years experience no problem, but entry there’s nothing. I’ve had to stop telling people to come into industry because they got degree and certs and still can’t land job since 2020. My heart goes out to anyone trying to enter the industry right now. They lied and said there’s hundreds of thousands of jobs, and their is just not for entry it’s all senior level. Good luck out there people
they are ghost jobs even at that level. i wish i woould have know this information about 2 years ago when i started to go to school i would have pick something else thats for sure. only IT jobs out there are help desk or best buy.
@@OneManCanStopTheMotorOfWorld man don't say this, I've just started my degree and God damn I'll graduate by 2028 how tf am i gonna find jobs by then if people are struggling just now
I think the best way into cyber right now isn't to jump right into a security role. Join a company in their IT department and show you want to work in the security side. That's what I did. IT for a year then my job became IT/Security doing both jobs. In the next few months they are moving me to Security Engineer.
Mr hacker This was a great video on the currently available in-demand roles. But I fear that by the time I study, certify and gain experience in one of these, they will not be in demand anymore due to the fast pace of the industry. What roles will maintain their demand as the field develops its automation and what new roles do you think may replace the current roles we have right now?
I feel bad for anyone whose entry right now, nobody is hiring for entry level it’s all senior. I know hundreds of people that had to go back to regular job. Sad times for entry level
@@OneManCanStopTheMotorOfWorld I have one application out of 1000 I've sent out over the last year... I'm on my third round interview... Hope I get it it would be a huge job 💪🏼🙏🏼
Is it worth it to take the CCSP exam if you don't have the 5yr experience pre-requisite? Also the CompTIA Casp+ will be rebranded as CompTia SecurityX soon.
Hey mate,I've been looking into IT work for awhile and goin todo a tafe course "networking basics for cyber" and compTIA a+ as a start,im in aus too, what would you do in my situation of you don't mind me asking...i want a job/ career really in IT or cyber security is my main choice but as im starting from scratch what should I do, any advice I'd love to hear mate id be really appreciated
what do you suggest for someone who is intermediate in SOC analyst and want to go up to Senior SOC analyst, i have net+ sec+, i have couple EDR certificates such as for MDE and Sentinel, SentinelOne as well, API penetration testing, Fortinet NSE3 i was thinking CYSA+/ OSCP/ Scrum Master for management/ Blue Team Level 2 what do you suggest? i have 4 years of experience in SOC team, 8 months DAta analyst and i did and internships as AI developer intern
If this was a real industry with real soul and a passion for cultivating things in any other guy that comes in, they would accept deposits in order to start training you as an intern every single time fresh out the gate, no certs, no college, they will BE your replacement for college, and CERT you in THEIR system. "If you can pay for college? if you can pay for certs? okay pay us that money instead and we will train you up on shit thats more up to date and relevant to doing your day to day since we dont believe your college or certs are that cool anyway." . thats how it should be. Even if not every time at least 1% of the time But you will never hear of this occuring because it happens a perfect 0% of the time. You know who will train me? Anything the FUCK ELSE. Any other industry that pays better in both starting and senior positions. Every other industry that doesnt have you maintain a demon portal for data harvesting and adware. Fuck bro, what do you think Joe Construction makes? MAKES ENOUGH BY THE LOOKS OF IT. and that job is actually trainable, and ppl actually want to cultivate you into being better and stronger, and dont get sensitive around certain types of humor. Ask yourself, is Joe Carpenter contributing to Rokos Basilisk? or is John IT from DataCentersRUs?
Good video and overviews. Except of recommending EC-Council. Really.. Yes, unfortunately it still DOES have HR value, but that's it. Grossly overpriced, shady business, not hands-on. Zonk.
Thanks!
Mr. Loi, thank you. I'm studying for my comptia sec+ cert right meow. I appreciate the motivation.

Yes and no. You just have to be persistent and patient. Something will come available for those who keep on seeking.

It was amazing ,could you make proper roadmap for cloud security in beginner perspective.
That will be nice
Thank you for this video!
One of the easiest job in IT industry where u don’t have to do much and follow just the security compliances already put in by security companies

100% this.
dont be afraid, do what you can and do your best.dont overthink.
My advice is to have a BSc degree in any computer related field, plus a master's degree in addition to these certificates.
great info! Does a MBA help for Security architect and consultant roles ?
As a CISSP I agree with your video.
Thank you Sir 🙏
So hard for me to get a job. I have schooling certs everything, shit economy rn. Hopefully after the election it will change
probably you have it already but do you have sample projects on github or something? always good to show the boss some practical things what you did.
It won't election has little to no effect on the market
Just keep working on your skills bro, something will land for you, just be patient and trust in God’s timing bro

Can i learn any of the entry courses from zero? or Do i need some tech background?
i can't wait to finish comptia sec+ ...and then to start studying pentest+ ...thank for to share your knowlegde
I started cyber security earlier this year and I want to go into pen testing .do u think its right for me or should i start with soc first
Wish i could share my coursework with you just so you check if I am on the right track to becoming a cloud security engineer
In Australia don’t even try unless you have two degrees.
