10 fascinating facts about the Bantu.
One of the most successful groups of African tribes is the Bantu, a group of related black people who speak a number of related languages. Nearly all Bantu languages employ the word "Bantu" in a variety of ways, which loosely translates to "people."
The following are 10 incredible facts about the Bantu people.
    1. Curvy ladies
Bantu women's extremely endowed, curvaceous bodies are one of their most defining characteristics. Bantu women are renowned for their sculpted bodies, exquisite curves, and stunning facial structure. Natural selection, according to scientists, is responsible for this evolutionary trait.
    2. Uniquely linked languages
There are about 3000 Bantu languages, the bulk of which are mutually intelligible to varied degrees. The majority are agglutinative, meaning they blend number, tense, case, gender, and aspect into single words. Bantu languages are likewise very melodic and simple to comprehend. Here is a sample of a few bantu languages.
    3. Expansionists.
Today, the Bantu people inhabit the majority of central, western, eastern, and southern Africa. Yet, only a few hundred years ago, they were a small community of Cameroonian bush dwellers. How did they nearly conquer all of Africa? Simple. They created superior iron weaponry, flourished as farmers, and were always on the road, assimilating any populations they came across. The Bantu also, had the benefit the force of mobility that pushed indigenous people from their territory or incorporated them into Bantu culture.
    4. Diverse People.
Due to their expansionist propensity, the Bantu absorbed and assimilated the many proto-populations they encountered. Many Bantu tribes in east Africa assimilated various hunter-gatherer and Cushitic groups, which explains why Bantu from nearly the entirety of Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and parts of Tanzania appear dissimilar from other Bantu. The Tutsi and Kikuyu, for instance, are believed to have substantial Nilotic and Cushitic admixture. The Xhosa, a Bantu people of southern Africa, have a substantial Khoisan genetic component. This means that the Bantu have a broad variety of phenotypes, including varied complexions, height, facial features, and other traits. The Swahili people from Kenyan coast are another mixed Bantu population comprised of various Bantu and middle eastern peoples admixture.
    5. The largest black population.
The Bantus are the largest ethnic group in Africa. They were estimated to number around 350 million by the midpoint of the 2010s, constituting roughly 30% of Africa's overall.
    6. Disseminated ironworking technology.
The Bantu expansion spread ironworking technology to eastern and southern Africa from around 500 BCE to 400 CE, as evidenced by the Lake Victoria region's Urewe culture. They were renowned for their blacksmithing skills, which contributed to their quick expansion.
    7. Strong empires.
The Bantu are responsible for one of the greatest empires in the world. The Great Zimbabwe, an astonishing array of stacked boulders, stone towers, and granite-block defensive walls, is one of the most spectacular structures in Sub-Saharan Africa.
    8. A substantial diaspora population.
Brazil has the world's second-largest black population. It is second only to Nigeria. There are approximately 100 million of them. The majority of these Afro-Brazilians are descended from Angola, a Bantu nation.
    9. The founders of the Swahili language.
Swahili is the most commonly spoken language in Africa. It's a Bantu tongue. It is estimated that there are between 100 and 150 million speakers. It originated around 500 years ago on the Kenyan coast as a result of interactions between various Bantu tribes and Arab traders.
    10. Occupiers of the best arable land in Africa.
Last but not least, the Bantu have distinguished themselves as great in agriculture, owing to their location in high altitude areas of Africa with excellent climates. Their lands are fertile and well-watered. They inhabit the slopes of Africa's tallest mountains, including Kilimanjaro, Mount Kenya, and Mount Meru.

Iam a diasporan decended of bantu hebrew people who were taken out of angola in the days of Enzenga who fought the Portuguese for many years during the inquisition/slavery period. They indoctrinated the many klans with catholicism Christianity as a means to control their destiny and ecconomic growth. They destroyed most of the historical facts documents about the original bantus hebrews who are decended from Sephardic Hebrews from Mediterranean Iberian Portugal, and Hispania back to the 1492 to 16th and 17th century. They spoke both Portuguese and Hebrew lingua. The Portuguese is a bantu Mediterranean lingua created by the moors and Hebrew klans. the Hebrews were there first from 2nd century. Then 7th century the moors and Hebrew took control and brought development to Iberia, until the fall of morrish/ Hebrew power due to the growth of Christian catholicism from the Vatican Roman system. In iberia they murdered thousands of Hebrews and defeated the moors who ruled along side their cousins, the hebrew shemites.Angola is full of a false religion today. I was in afrika but I need to go to my Great, great grand father's home. I have historical information to give to the youth and older classes. Mr name is Verne E. dos Lobitos. Shalom

@@vernevanterpool2921 great to hear you from you my angolan bantu brother in the Americas. Some of what you said is correct but most of it is not correct. The only false religion that we have is Christianity and Catholic, our spiritual traditions are ancient. Most of what you see in the bible came directly from us it's just plagiarised and corrupted. we are not Hebrews we never referred to ourself as Hebrews. Many spiritual leaders have kept text and we still have our ancient writing system. The government however don't want to use it cause of foreign powers. The god of angola, zambia, congo. Gabon is( N)zambi there is where zambia came from. and the supreme force is Ntu and We are the physical manifestation of the supreme Force Ntu which makes us Ba-Ntu.(Bantu) We do not speak Hebrew languages. Yes we did occupy the mediterian all the way to irak, Israel, Lebanon etc. if you studyy Ancient Egypt, society, judgement laws, after life and symbolism, spiritual system all came from bantu it has been corrupted by the Romans and European now. The 22 nobles who went to Portugal to teach about the most high. About customes. Laws, rythm, mathematic, physics, and spirituality, astrology where the nobles of King Nkuvu Mbande Nzinga. Grand father of Queen Nzinga. But that was around the late 1300. I don't know much about moors other then that they where a mix of Arabs, fulani and hausa which are a totally different group from bantus and they don't like bantus and used to capture alot of and sell us to Arabs. So if you are saying Hebrews are like moors then we know that Hebrews are not Bantus, moors tried to fight us with Arabs and the never succeeded. They did captures 1000s of us to be enslaved in India. There bantus in India till today. Conclusion: we predate Abraham, Abraham is not our father. We don't deal with ham/shem thats how they got us into slavery we all know that. Remember when shan ham and japhet where alive bantus where already here. We predate them. My bantu brother. You are talking like Bantus are just one group of people. There are many tribes that are part of the Bantu family. And each of them has a different characteristic from the other. Example the kikuyu and the kamba are not the same. The luhya and the meru are not the same. There are Bantu tribes in Congo that practice cannibalism. Even in Uganda. People need to act like they are all the same. They are not. And that's what makes Africa beautiful. Diversity.

Not every Bantu tribe is the same. There are some very vicious Bantu tribes who don't like visitors. Get this.. A majority of African countries have a population that is predominantly Bantu. And their governments are controlled by leaders who are Bantu. Yet these countries are always at war. Bantu tribes fighting each other. Why? Because being a Bantu doesn't change your character. Doesn't make all of us the same. We might be Bantu but we are still different.

"Tiga korera" funny enough the words have the exact same meaning in both languages. "stop crying"/"dont cry" thats when i realised how we bantus are closely related. sometimes i hear words from south Africans sounding like kikuyu. funny enough if i follow up, i realise that the meaning is exact.

Khwe and Mbo have intermixed for thousands of years, all the way from the great lakes, across to Angola and Namibia, and to the south of South Africa. In South Africa, we are said to be Nguni people, but really Mnguni was himself of Khwe and Mbo origin.

These ships stopped in Cape Town and then sailed to st Dominique. From there those people were brought to the low country directly or via other Carribean islands or to Louisiana and the gulf states. In Zulu Umuntu means a melaninated person and Abantu means melaninated people and if Ntu means God then Abantu simply means Melaninated people are God or an aspect of God having a human experience. Abantu and the so called Khoi and the San people are the first people to exist on planet earth and all the other races come from them. In fact, in my view the Khoi and the San are one of the Bantu tribes.
We called ourselves Abantu before the existence of white people on earth, so we can’t even make reference to Apartheid because the Architects of Apartheid were not even in existence when we called ourselves Abantu.

I loved this video with great narration. I live on the Southeastern coast of the United States. Based on multiple DNA results and looking at some of the facial features of some of the people in this video, I truly believe I am part of the BANTU nation. It would've helped if this video mentioned the haplogroup of the various tribes. I look more Swahili while my paternal grandfather looked more Zulu. I hope there's a follow-up video coming. Great job!

It’s actually Kongo that’s the birth place of all Bantu people since the entire southern part of Cameroon was once known as the Kongo basin according to ancient map of Africa. When speaking about it now, people tend to say Cameroon but they should know Cameroon didn’t exist back there but Kongo did and it was called Kongo basin. People should be precise to say Bantu birth place was in ancient Kongo basin which has become present day Cameroon.

    Great video.
DR Congo by itself is composed of more than 250 Bantu kingdoms, some of which were huge such us the Kongo Empire(which was in Angola, Congo Brazaville, and DR Congo), the Luba empire in the west and south est of DR Congo, the Shi kingdom that rules on land huge than Rwanda and Burundi compined twice, and it had many similarities with those kingdoms.
I think it's also important to precise that many of these Bantu Kingdoms were in contact with other continents like east Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and Eastern Congo(Luba, Shi, Lega) were in contact and have trade with many Arabian Kingdoms in the Maghreb some people such us TipoTip were even know in most of those countries, Kongo empire was one of the most developed kingdoms in pre-colonial Africa with many aspects that we have today in modern histories such as rule of law, senate, and separation of state and church.
Many people actually misunderstand how much Africa was developed before the colonial period, fortunately, some books tell us the truth about our continent (books such as Born in blackness, why nations fail, etc.)
