When it was revealed Ronin was Michelangelo, not Raph, I was totally hooked. I really enjoyed it. It was a TNMT for all of us that were fans as kids in the late 80’s, early 90’s, grown up
Mikey's end was definitely beautiful, he faced his demons & survivor's guilt with love, glad April was written in to remind him of the family that he still has, the art is super amazing and it makes me believe that the TMNT Fast Foward tv series was a alt happily even after timeline
This has to be one of the best, most dynamic storylines written about characters I grew up watching and loving. TMNT has always had a place in my heart and was sad to see that Mikey had died but alas all good things must come to an end and a glorious end it was!!

These were all very tough to read. I've loved the Turtles ever since I was a kid, too. Getting to be a part of a new TMNT series, written by Kevin Eastman & Peter Laird was something I never thought I'd get to be a part of! I've loved these guys, it was like seeing old friends again, but then- It was a tough read. I never ever wanted to see the end like that. I was teary-eyed after every issue. I'm glad there was a break so long between issues. Emotionally processing and recovering from seeing your best childhood friends be- it needed time. Are those 4 new turtles all boys? I wonder will their names will be. Not to undercut anything this series did, but as a thought experiment, I would love to see a few more re-tellings of this. Like a D&D module, with a different party, how would this all have played out if The Last Ronin were Donatello, Raphael, or Leonardo? Right before Mikey told them all to go away, we saw how they all had different thoughts on how to proceed. How would each Turtle have mourned? If TMNT started out as a parody, well, time to create The Last Ronin multi-verse! They've done it before, more than once! What does Last Ronin Leo look like? Last Ronin Don? What if it was Casey that survived? How would that mutagen have affected him? Would he have remained in the city for 10-16 years?
i love the OG 4 turtles don’t get me wrong but a possible new quartet sounds extremely enticing. Hopefully they release a mini series or something around those 4 cuz i would definitely pick that up

Really like the ending, it was bittersweet. Like the notion that with an end comes a new beginning. Michelangelo finally knows peace with his family in the afterlife and there is new hope in the new turtles and Casey =)
The Last Ronin was filled wit tear jerkers for me. They were my heroes before the DC and Marvel universe heroes. Glad to know Chris Evans Captain America loved them too. This was a honorable end for their stories if it solidifies as one.
Yo this entire series has been nothing but sadness…but Now I’m seriously crying. Seeing Mikey change from the lovable funny guy to this John Wick-ish version was just so heartbreaking. They did him so dirty having him die like that. At least he’s finally happy again…

I honestly don't know how U can hate this series ... considering: 1- It pays homage to all the turtles without betraying legacy 2- it is the vision of the creators 3- Great art/panels with a satisfying conclusion... Even if U wanted a happy ending for our turtles, nobody can say the story isn't good on its own, and that it wasn't the next best thing for Our Heroes and way better in comparisson to works for other characters in media... I liked it,but I would've liked it more if Mikey did like a ghost talk just to show he wasn't completely gone. Not sure I how I feel about new turtles, maybe a variety of reptiles or amphibians or rats. Just so the new generation has their own teenage mutant ninja something
Naw for real…this is the LOGAN for TMNT, the mature conclusion of a beloved franchise and character, I know tmnt is still going but if they did end the franchise on this note it’d be the perfect ending to these characters. Especially having Mikey be the main character for this mini series

I love it this was a dark story in witch i was hooked since issue 1, and yes i would love 2 see it moving on with this new turtles i would love 2 see that story

I grew up with the ninja turtles, first as the cartoon then backtracking and reading the comics. I always identified with Mikey, the clown, the most. I never thought to follow any tmnt comic series after the originals, especially since I'd already moved from superhero comics to graphic novels and ultimately to novels. Then as a grown man, I caught wind of the Last Ronin just as I started graduate school. I was studying something entirely different than my bachelors in an attempt to turn somethings around. Older than most of my fellow classmates by at least 15 years and having to balance multiple other responsibilities, I did not feel confident that I could finish it. When I picked up the Last Ronin and read that only one of the brothers was alive and on this do-or-die mission for vengeance, I was excited. When I learned that it was Michelangelo, I identified with him as I always have. Mission accomplished, Mikey.
I'm 13, last time I watch tmnt was in the 2nd or 3rd grade probably if not 4th. And it's sad how much I've missed,to only find out a year later that these guys died...makes me wish I could've watched it more😖😔

Yet He Along with his Turtle Bros, Human Brother Casey Jones & their Father Splinter have all found their Peace in the Afterlife. This was a Flat out Spectacular TMNT Story that Belongs in the Same Classic Comic Book Story Category as Say.... ''The Dark Knight Returns''!!!
I've never cared about a character more. I grew up with Mikey and his brothers, and it is so sad to see him go. I get to now rest at night knowing that he is at peace with himself and with his bros. From someone who's been a TMNT fan since i was 6yrs old, about 32 or 33 years, i thought it was a GREAT ending. I didn't know about the delays but assumed when i didn't see anything about the last issue for what felt like forever lol.

I always thought Leonardo was the best turtle because he was the leader - now after 27-years I see I was wrong. It was all Michelangelo from the very beginning. Spending an eternity with your brothers and father in heaven is the greatest reward for a true hero who performed his duty.

I wish the original creators had drawn the series. Their art still had a sweet spot for me. My favorite issues are still issue 10 & 11 for the original run. Issue 11 is one of my all time favorite issue of any comics.

As an old man that's been a fan since the franchise started in 84, this feels like the definitive end to me. Considering some of the weird and crappy stuff the franchise has seen over the years (mostly the Nick era junk), I personally enjoy this much more. Modern fans may not like the gritty, more violent tone, but thats how the series started and was meant to be.

Thank you.(: As a kid, I remember watching the animated series on tv, and all of the live action movies, and playing the video games. Even tho I was low key hoping Michael Angelo would survive & teach the next generation of turtles, It’s fitting that he joins his family in thi after life happily reunited in thi end. I’m intrigued to know the personalities the next generation of turtles will have and what weapons they will use. Just for fun, i can imagine turtle 1 having multiple personalities who uses two double edged swords with each personality using it in a different style. He ends up becoming the main villain after killing Casey later on for not treating him, like how she did thi others. Turtle 2 will be all about that zen life and doesn’t like violence, but is really skilled in all ranged combat. Turtle 1 cut her legs off during the timeframe of his betrayal. Now she rockin enhanced prosthetic legs that make her hella fast and she can leap high and far distances. Turtle 3 will be the raging brute that lost his arms due to a fight with turtle 1. Now he has two high tech arms made of the hardest metal in that universe that give him ofc massive strength. He refuses to use any weapon but his arms. As a bi sexual ninja turtle, He was in love with one of the personalities of turtle 1 but uh… not anymore. And lastly, turtle 4 is the leader who is now blind due to a fight with turtle 1. He uses a 3 section staff. All his senses are massively enhanced and he’s psychic to a degree. His bae is turtle 2. All 4 turtles are not related and all of them have names of famous warriors. If they do follow up with the next generation of ninja turtles, I hope it’s better than what I just made up. ^__^

I liked this series I'm still not sure if Michelangelo could be considered a Ronin because I'm not sure if a Ninja could become a Ronin but that's just a small nit pick that isn't enough to ruin the story for me besides I believe there was Ninja Clan that was lead by a Samurai so maybe a Ninja becoming a Ronin could happen
From someone who's been a TMNT fan since i was 6yrs old, about 32 or 33 years, i thought it was a GREAT ending. I didn't know about the delays but assumed when i didn't see anything about the last issue for what felt like forever lol.

I always thought Leonardo was the best turtle because he was the leader - now after 27-years I see I was wrong. It was all Michelangelo from the very beginning. Spending an eternity with your brothers and father in heaven is the greatest reward for a true hero who performed his duty.

I wish the original creators had drawn the series. Their art still had a sweet spot for me. My favorite issues are still issue 10 & 11 for the original run. Issue 11 is one of my all time favorite issue of any comics.

As an old man that's been a fan since the franchise started in 84, this feels like the definitive end to me. Considering some of the weird and crappy stuff the franchise has seen over the years (mostly the Nick era junk), I personally enjoy this much more. Modern fans may not like the gritty, more violent tone, but thats how the series started and was meant to be.

As a kid, I remember watching the animated series on tv, and all of the live action movies, and playing the video games.
Even tho I was low key hoping Michael Angelo would survive & teach the next generation of turtles, It’s fitting that he joins his family in thi after life happily reunited in thi end.
I’m intrigued to know the personalities the next generation of turtles will have and what weapons they will use.
Just for fun, i can imagine turtle 1 having multiple personalities who uses two double edged swords with each personality using it in a different style. He ends up becoming the main villain after killing Casey later on for not treating him, like how she did thi others.
Turtle 2 will be all about that zen life and doesn’t like violence, but is really skilled in all ranged combat. Turtle 1 cut her legs off during the timeframe of his betrayal. Now she rockin enhanced prosthetic legs that make her hella fast and she can leap high and far distances.
Turtle 3 will be the raging brute that lost his arms due to a fight with turtle 1. Now he has two high tech arms made of the hardest metal in that universe that give him ofc massive strength. He refuses to use any weapon but his arms. As a bi sexual ninja turtle, He was in love with one of the personalities of turtle 1 but uh… not anymore.
And lastly, turtle 4 is the leader who is now blind due to a fight with turtle 1.
He uses a 3 section staff. All his senses are massively enhanced and he’s psychic to a degree. His bae is turtle 2. All 4 turtles are not related and all of them have names of famous warriors.
If they do follow up with the next generation of ninja turtles, I hope it’s better than what I just made up. ^__^
