He probably just went with it when he witnessed its effect. Dude's pretty good at improvising, at least when it comes to killing.
Liquid Nitrogen isn't a new invention. How wouldn't he know about it.

@@DavidKen878 I was trying to be funny by recounting Jason's life in which he was clearly busy doing other things than learning chemistry. I mean, my whole original comment and response is just a joke based on that premise. I'm not interested in arguing about whether he legitimately might have learned about liquid nitrogen for the sake of a stupid joke.

I know the whole idea of Jason in space is supposed to be pretty silly. But overall it all makes the final product look like a parody of a more serious horror movie 😂

1. The creators behind this movie knew damn well it was gonna fail and still had fun with it.
2. I'm fairly certain this movies whole existence is because it was taking too damn long to make Freddy vs Jason.
I love it in horror movies when a person is killed and then there is a pun. Imagine seeing your friend get slaughtered brutally, and you just crack a joke. The balls that person must have is too many to count.

Jason x is a prime example of some of best horror movies to watch with friends in college campy,dumb,and entertaining
The neck break kill was Hodder's idea. The script called for Jason to quickly snap Sven's neck, but Hodder said he's done neck snaps with Jason before and was kinda bored of the idea, so he proposed to try something a little different and "slowly" break the guy's neck just to show Jason being extra assholish to this guy.
After the performance, everyone agreed it was a better alternative, especially with the drawn out "pop pop pop crunch" sound, as opposed to a traditionally quick "crack". Dull machete could be given to a number of kills that happen off screen.
Also fun fact, in the Jason X novels, Uber Jason regenerates his whole body from his mask and continues to do what he does best.

Jason X: The Experiment, a military research facility on Earth 2 captures Jason after the events of the movie and tries to make super soldiers using his regenerative DNA.
Jason X: Planet of the Beast, another space ship finds Jason's body after the events of The Experiment, and a mad doctor tries to clone Jason.
Jason X: Death Moon, Jason crashes on the Moon where there's a finishing school of rich girls after the events of PotB.
Jason X: To The Third Power, I'm assuming after the events of DM, the finishing school is torn down and rebuilt into a super max prison to house Jason in the basement.
Had to summarize the last two as I've only read up to Planet of the Beast. And these events are separate from the Jason X comics where Uber Jason fought Jason.

The trend of studios bringing their horror icons into Space will always be hilarious to me .
Ironically, Freddy is still immune to it, despite him sometimes being the campiest of all of them. Although he is also the best of them, so maybe that's why they weren't willing to mess him up with the space treatment.

idea for a horror movie: jason-like killer, stuck on space ship, but every time someone is killed, they just pop them into a healing machine. an autodoc, or the nanomachine thing here. the killer has to get more and more violent, going from just stabbing to shooting to full on explosions and woodchippering.

My friends and I were watching this movie on theater, and the part when he killed the hikers was the funniest part of all, we thought he was gonna get stoned with them.
It sucks the lawsuit happened and we missed out on getting Uber Jason in the game, especially considering we saw him at the end of the virtual cabin
screw the game its suck we haven't got a new friday the 13th movie and even though the lawsuit has been settled we probably still won't ever get a new one

I love that Dead Space got a little inspiration from this film, with the head Squeek of Dallas's head sliding down the wall - that being the Headbutting dude AND that Peter Mensah's character in this film was exactly the same as he played in Dead Space as Hammond

I like Uber Jason, he actually kinda creeps me out with his red eyes and the fact that you can see both through the mask makes it even more menacing
