From my experience it doesn't make a difference. Everyone gets upset sometime that is understandable but my ex went from super nice to really cruel all the time, and I always tried to make excuses that the niceness justified staying through the bad stuff, but it wasn't worth it in the end and just made things worse. If they are just mean it's easier to leave 😅
