I love Listening to Billie Graham and has a great deal of respect for the Elder. I am 62 years old and can remember my father watching Billie Graham crusades on TV. I used to sit and watch. My father has been deceased for over 30 years. Listening to Billie Graham reminds of my father. Listening to Billie Graham formed my life and my ministry.

Susan Mckee, thanks for your reply. Billy Graham means a lot to me. I think, it's more so, that he preached about my God, my Jesus. He is a a messenger. And a messenger is someone who delivers his message. God bless you sister.

Like the story of the samaritan women and Jesus. He said to her ..."for you have had five husbands, and the one you have now is not your husband. What you have said is true!" When you where young a child you where drived by the five senses vision, taste, hearing, smell, touch, those where for you like husbunds to lead you. Now that you arent more a child you dont have those husbunds, now you have intellect, but so another husbund that is the; mentality of the world. But indeed this new husbund that drive your spirit isn,t the true. Becouse you dont have the word of God that is the true husbund to drive you.

The way I understand it Jesus was keeping Gods promise to Hagar to not forget her and her son Ishmael. The Samaritans were cast away as they were and bore a “Great Nation”. The reason Hagar went back to Abraham is because God showed her the future and blessings to come if she stayed. Hence why he met the woman by the well.

Stacey Biddle I think the people or great nation from Ishmael are the Arabs. The Samaritans were part Jews but were intermarried with other pagan people. They also helped the enemy against Israel when they tried to rebuild Jerusalem . I’m not sure where the connection is to this event. Jesus is showing that He is the Living Water and the Messiah that was promised to the Jews and the world

The event of the "woman at the well" is a very important prophecy. This is the confrontation between Jesus (the TORAH and Gospels of the BIBLE) and the ancient Sumerian religious system based on Sun worship, which later "married" the Roman Empire (it's sixth husband). It's first five husbands were the Egyptian Empire, the Assyrian Empire, the Babylonian Empire, the Medo-Persian Empire, and the Greek empire, all of which fell because of its influence.
There are so many clues that no minister seems to get. You have the fact that she (a church system) came from Samaria. She was dipping into the well of Jacob, yet refused to serve Jesus (she never did give him a drink). She had 5 ex-husbands (stated above), and was in bed with the sixth (Rome).
It is important to understand that this sun god religious system was based on worshiping GOD on the day of the sun (sunday), on the birthday of the human incarnation of the sun god Moloch, Nimrod (Christmas), and on the fertility festival of Mother Earth, first known as Ashtaroth, then Ashtar, then Ishtar, and finally Easter.
All of the other parts of this event will enhance the prophecy, but I will leave that to the enthusiastic BIBLE student to figure out on his own.
One last hint: Whenever the BIBLE talks about a future event involving the sun, the moon, and the stars, it is not talking about the celestial bodies in space, but the three apostate religious systems; the Sun god system, the Moon god system, and the petty systems (like Mithraism, Buddhism, and so on).
Please don't let anyone deceive you.

The woman at the well was a prophetic shadow picture. This was the only time that Jesus said he was the messiah and told it to the samaritan woman. The prophetic shadow picture was he spent 2 day with the samaritans, "the samaritans representing the gentiles". Remember a day to the lord is as of a 1000 years and 1000 years is as a day. Later on when Jesus and his disciples were going down to the feast in Jerusalem and James and John went into Samaria and Samaritans refused to sell them anything and they asked Jesus if he wanted them to rain down fire on them and Jesus rebuked them? The samaritans refused to sell them anything because Jesus refused celebrate the feast day on MT Gerizim, Remember the question the samaritan lady asked Jesus? Well the 2000 years is about up for the gentiles and the blindness of the jewish nation is fixing to be lifted because if the jews would have excepted him the first time they never would have crucified their messiah and we all would be heading for the lake of fire. People have always condemned the jews for crucifying Jesus but there could be nothing further from the truth. Everytime in the bible the word "JEWS" was used it was always refering to the scribes and pharrasees, NOT the jewish people in a whole. Jesus was a jew and all his disciples were jewish and all his followers were jewish. Jesus and his disciples gave us the new testiment.

    • @pepperspreigh8644

My commentary does not come from other sources, but from the BIBLE itself.
Rev 19:10 declares that the testimony of Jesus (what he said and what he did) was prophecy. When I began to re-read the BIBLE I just started to see the prophecies that were embedded in the gospels.
For example, the ten virgins of Matthew 25 are a prophecy foretelling the downfall of the Byzantine Empire and the rise of the Reformation.
Just remember that above all else, the BIBLE is a book. And like any other great work of writing, it has all of the elements of a properly written non-fiction book. It has poetry, simile, metaphor, foreshadowing (prophecy), and so on.
If you keep reading the Book, you will figure out more than I have.

He barely touched on the story of the woman at the well. I had hoped for more in-depth analysis of the conversation and the meaning. I get better explanations and details from the comments than from Billy Graham.

This woman isn't broken by any means. First of all, the circumstances of this pericope is an allusion to Genesis 38, when Tamar tricks Judah into keeping his obligation to provide her offspring to continue his line and to ensure her economic welfare. The fact that this occurs at Jacob's Well should be the tell-tale for the discerning pilgrim.
The woman comes to the well to get pregnant. She has had children from five men and she wants another. It is part of her social security. She is either with a man that has been unable to accomplish this task or she is content with a convenient target of opportunity. She hasn't come out to the well to avoid the slander of her neighbors: the response of the village after she returns from the well isn't one of disdain for a "fallen women" but an immediate acceptance of her proclamation as they stream out of the village to meet this prophet. She has come out to the oasis because a traveler has pulled up and she wants to get pregnant.
The dialogue between Jesus and the woman begins as a flirtation. She assumes he is making a pass at her and she teases him. If there was a sound track, it would be playing Shania Twain's "That Don't Impress Me Much" while she jousts with Jesus' claims of status. But the music changes to the hook of Ace to Base's "All She Wants Is Another Baby" at Mark 4:13, when the metaphor of "water" takes on the procreative turn she is seeking. From her perspective, "living water" is a metaphor for intercourse and the economics of her situation, that is, a woman seeking another child for her own future welfare, compels her to seek out this "living water"
But, of course, Jesus isn't talking about an erotic interlude, but is addressing the specific issue she has brought to him: her desire for a bun in the oven. "If your husband is shooting blanks, bring him to me and I'll fix him" is the subtext to the converstational theme, which, of course, she demurs "I have not husband". She is not a Jew: she is sufficient unto herself and content with that circumstance.
Which provides Jesus the opportunity to demonstrate who He is, first by a recitation of her history of polyandry, then, by a brief recitation of His theology and then, when she comments on the Samaritan's racial memory of the coming of the Jewish Messiah, Jesus explicitly reveals HImself as the fulfillment of this memory and emphasizes the point by making her pregnant in the same way the Holy Ghost made His made His Mother pregnant.
At that moment of intense intimacy, His disciples arrive and break the spell. And, again, the music changes to Natalie Merchant's theme song from the Lilith Fair, "Kind and Generous" as the woman dances away to carry this stunning revelation to her neighbors in the village, forgetting her water bottle. . She hasn't been shamed by Jesus, but validated and, if she needed it, empowered to inspire her neighbors to IMMEDIATELY drop everything to come out and meet this prophet. She's not chagrin in the least. She is giddy with the loveliness of her encounter with Jesus and the baptism of the Spirit of God which made her pregnant.
In this last task, she anticipates Mary Magdalene running from the tomb to announce His resurrection and completes the hat trick of representing an allusion to Tamar, a self-empowered woman, Mary, Mother of God, who magnifies the Glory of The Lord, and Mary Magdalene, who brought the word of the Messiah to her world. This isn't a portrait of a damaged woman seeking salvation from her shame, but a strong and self-reliant woman whose life is sanctified by salvation and glorified by this sanctification. This is not the Gospel of Shame required by TULIP, but the arrival of the Kingdom of Heaven in Sychar in the womb of this woman.
And, like Mike Pense, His disciples are horrified that He was in extremely intimate circumstance with a gentile woman. It's one thing for His disciples to misapprehend the circumstances of His ministry before the fact, but 2000 years later, the interpretation of this pericope according the Gospel of Shame is far more the gender politics that continues to pollute Christianity than the theological rigtheousness it claims to represent. It's the same theology that informed Roy Moore's supporters.
The Kingdom of Heaven is salvation as a process of sanctification. It's not what you do to JUSTIFY salvation but what you do BECAUSE of salvation.
