    Just an observation when you were looking for that package and it was right there in front of your face....well, that is a natural phenomenon because you are visualizing the package so your brain doesn't connect when it's right there in front of you staring at it because the image is already seared into your brain cells.
    The trick is to turn your head and look at the wall and turn around and look for the object again and it will appear. This is no joke, it's something that happens quite regularly to everyone.
    So when you know you just saw something and then it's gone, look away and then look for it again. It works everytime 👍
    Thanks for your videos even though I will just leave my Brompton stock 😀

      @@BromptonFamilyTime Happens to me too, and I just look away and the item is right in my face. lol It's almost like the same thing that happens when you leave a room and walk to another room and forgot what you went there for. If you go back to the first room, your brain cells will remind you😁

    How does the SMC plume wheelset hold up in a rainy environment (knowing that carbon wheelset tend to lose more braking power)? Do they perform similar or close to the stock wheelset?

    • @BromptonFamilyTime
      @BromptonFamilyTime  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Your right. Braking in the rain requires more distance if wet. You get use to it after a while, but if your riding in traffic you should dry your wheel rim by using the brakes to knock off the water. Stock is much better in terms of braking since you have more agressive brake pads with grooved metal rims.

Andozza, Joseph Kuosac make nice wheel sets too. I think they are alittle bit more money. Maybe in the future I will try them too. I have seen SMC wheels on IG and their price is reasonable. • @HoHienKe1986
    @HoHienKe1986 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This is what I would have done if I kept my T-line. However, I did get these for my 2speed CHPT3 and they are amazing due to the fact as you mention they look and sound amazing.
    Few points :
    1. Your front wheel hub is in reverse. Basically it should have the same naming decals in the same direction as the rear. Apologise if you have changed already.
    2. I would highlight recommend changing to Swissstop black prince, these have amazing breaking power compared to the third party offer.
    3. I was super happy with the ceramic bearings, but I ride mine every day and the bearing lasted about 2 months before they don’t roll as smoothly anymore. - Would recommend changing this to Steel bearing once the ceramic bearing goes. - In the long term it will be more beneficial.
    But do enjoy these wheelset as much as I have and keep up the great content.
    If you are going to upgrade anything for your wife bike, I would recommend H&H rear rack and some larger wheels to make it more like a suitable luggage to roll around than always carrying it. Don’t this with my gf bike and she loves it.

    • @BromptonFamilyTime
      @BromptonFamilyTime  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks for the information. I have heard mixed reviews on ceramic bearings. My daily commuter is my superlight so the T Line wheel set should last much longer. I will try the Swissstop Black Prince once these wear out. The ones that came with the wheelset work like the stock ones.

    • @StanStrong108
      @StanStrong108 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I always had the impression that ceramic bearings had good life, at least that is what I read about Bottom Brackets. They do roll smooth though regardless

      @HoHienKe1986 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BromptonFamilyTime yeah be sustainable too of course, plus once you do get the black prince upgrade you’ll definitely notice the better stopping power, especially in the wet.

    • @HoHienKe1986
      @HoHienKe1986 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@StanStrong108 honest ceramic bearings are only really good for pros and probably people who are into TT. Personally it’s just a big marketing scam. The gains you get vs the cost is stupid and for the general public normal steel bearing is perfectly fine.

    For the inflation busting price of the T line I would have thought these wheels should have been fitted as standard since Brompton are championing the weight of their flagship model , clearly a mistake you have now rectified .

      Maybe in the future they will. It's nice to see Brompton using Carbon and other innovations into the T-Line 🙂.

    I would give the tube some air as a first, to make sure it is unfolded, before deflating it again for the rest of the mount.

    Brake PAD, not brake shoe
    "The main difference between brake shoes and brake pads is their direction of force. Brake shoes stop the car by pushing outward, while brake pads stop it by moving closer together. Instead of sitting inside a brake drum, being forced outward onto the breaking surface, brake pads are positioned around a disc called a rotor."
    In this case, the wheel is actually the disk the pads press on. 😁 Rim brakes are, for all intents and purposes, giant disk brakes 😉

    21:43 - found money for an expensive torque wrench, but did not find 2$ for a 15 wrench ))

      That wrench is a vintage Craftsman made in the USA. It have a lifetime warranty and I have been using it for 30 years.

      @@BromptonFamilyTime this is not comfortable to work such large wrench

      The larger wrench will provide better torque and proper tension than a smaller one. It's a great tool to have.

      @@BromptonFamilyTime of course I was joking... the reason is that anyone can't buy a brompton... even less a full titanium and even less improve it... we're talking about 7,000 dollars invested in a bike... my wife would kill me... sorry for the comment.

      I'm really broke though lol. I am glad I finished building the bike to my liking. Besides maintenance parts I hope I won't need to upgrade or replace anything else for a while. I treat my bikes as cars so they are worth the price for me. I understand they are expensive and even an A line is a serious purchase.
