Just wanted to add, when tapping the way Hypno mentioned, as someone who has played piano for 15+ years, to avoid fingerlocking/galloping you should try to maintain your fingers as erect as possible while still keeping it relaxed, this is actually the technique pianists use for trillos , basically when you spam two notes on a piano (well kind of)
Tbh saying somebodys an offline player and discarding their oppinion like that is just really dumb. It's not like u just gain more skill from playing offline than online
this method is actually really helpful.. i gave it some thought and put it to practice right away and noticed i could focus more on reading and aim since i wasn't so fixated on tapping. this just feels so natural to play like this now lol
I could not stream more than 20 seconds before watching this video. Now I can stream for minutes. This video, as simple as it may seem, really, really helped me improve. Thank you so much!
Personally, it quite hard to aim streams while doing this. It feels like I have less control. However, I feel like I just need to practice more with this tapping style to get used to aiming streams with it.
this ties back to the idea of stream alting vs tap-stream alting. but ofc, practice practice and you'll be able to aim streams comfortably with a tapping style like this too
this applies a lot when playing mania, being very relaxed while also putting in energy into the fingers can lead to a big stamina boost and even obtain somewhat of a speed boost
I have a somehow advantage when ot comes to streaming. I am a death metal drummer so i already trained my finger stamina and tapping accuracy for quite some time xD
@@lukewoolner im using fremch grip with the mower techniue (or however it is spelled) it is like 40% finger movement 30% wrist and 30% movement with the lower arm over the ellbow (look it up if you dont know it it makes more sense when you see it) for the blast beats and for everything else i use the american grip. Sometimes even gravity blast but that is no finger technique at all. You tend to use more and more fingers, wrist and less rebound the faster it gets cause rebound only works precisely up to a certain speed then it gets sloppy
After watching this I had to open the game and try this method, and I actually improved holy shit? It helps you save energy and not tire easily It's the same strategy in DDR or PIU, but ur stepping arrows. The point is controlling ur energy, so you still have sum stamina left until the end of the song. Great advice

'angle of attack' is what i think about for tapping styles if your fingertips feel like they're hitting flat onto your keycaps, that'll be more deliberate than if it were a rough 45-50° angle
Best tip soo far from an osu player. All of them just say practice like wtf thanks for the help i actually improved on some section the stream and my stamina is much better now thanks alot
I actually do this to save my stamina on longer streams i start of streaming normally with lifting my fingers but once i start feeling my stamina drain i dont lift my fingers up from the key at all and just do this in a cycle.
I have always struggled to use this method without dropping an input because I didn’t go up all the way, especially on aim intensive streams. That is probably why I struggle to hold stamina above 200bpm. I guess wooting has solved this issue nowadays but I don’t play enough to replace my keyboard/keypad for it
Can you talk about aricin's technique on storms of ages and mrrek's technique on the sun, the moon, the stars. Looks like they are not using their fingers to stream, is like they are shaking their hands and using that to tap the keys. Wouldn't that be like 100% better? I mean, they are not overloading their tendons, in fact, they are using a bigger muscle, or at least another muscle, to do that movement. Plus, that looks so much more consistent
i personally keep my fingers out straight and kinda move my wrist and my fingers at the same time back and forth and can get 99+ acc on a 1.5k deathstream 190 bpm
I think Ed has mentioned about this tho He say when he stream, his finger never actually leave the keypads You can watch that on Taeha video "i hung out with some of the top osu! players " Habib, Ed, Boxbox, Vaxei and fancy lad was there
our primate hands were designed for grasping. return to monke🐵 (also I've been doing this for years but probably due to playing a stringed instrument more than anything)
I can't say for everyone, but for me I find this tapping style more achievable when you position your thumb below your hand instead of like outside of the hand I do this time to time but it kinda costs my aim but that's probably hand control issue and my problem
The thing is that I use a membrane keyboard so doing this requires me to use more energy so I just better of use the default method that I picked up until I get a mechanical switch
Another tip with that trick is to have a mechanical keyboard lolz. It wont work well with a rubber dome and thats what made me to buy one. Its not only for drip, also for energy efficiency
I do stream alt with this exact like “hand placement” on the keyboard but since I’m still practicing streams, my stamina is brokey. When I do this “C” sort of hand placement, I tend to tap faster than I should be on some stream maps. It’s still something I’m working on but it’s not my main focus since I don’t want my other map skills to cease existing
This might depend on the person? But idk from my experience I usually do it on lower BPMs but it hella burns the wrist but Im probably just using the technique incorrectiy
@@mrfishyboi1470 yea i agree. I've met an array of different people where wrist turning may only help them on lower bpms or may only help them on higher bpms. For me, it only helps me on higher bpms.

The heavier the key switch you use, the faster your fingers reset when you release, aka Black switchs for speed >:)
