In the post-DS novel "Angelique's Descent" by Lara Parker, Barnabas had an affair with Angelique either before or after meeting Josette on the island of Martinique. That is why she had such a major crush on him when the Dupres arrived in Collinsport. They had already known each other intimately.
These two were quite the love birds. It was an ingenious love triangle woven thru the changing story lines & characters. He captures her heart, then leaves. She bumps into him down the road & puts a spell on him to keep him on a short leash. He claims to be want to be free of the leash, but not really. He wounds & he kills that which he loves. The ultimate sexual act.
I absolutely love this!!
I watched DS all summer and the ending was so emotional. Love Barnabas/Bramwell. Especially Bramwell was so handsome. Watching many episodes again.

I think there should be a romantic movie about them and not call it Dark Shadows. Even maybe a hint of Josette towards the end.

Now, this is a relationship. They put Ross and Rachel to shame.
Is it wrong that I loved that you used the bats from the end of “Love at First Bite”?
