🌸🥷🏼Trish San 🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️😍❤️💐hey there Freundin!! Ich danke dir für deinen Kommentar! Und, dass du dir die Zeit genommen hast diese Video anzuschauen. Ein trockenes Thema, aber interessant auch wenn nicht viel zu sehen war 😬I hope you are having a great day 🌸🥷🏼❤️
FFF 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️🥰💐guten Abend, meine liebe Freundin! I tell you!! When I started with the measuring the EC in my water, I was going my microSiemens, because, it is 'more accurate'. Then, I got so messed up with people referring to ppm, and my conversion scale had to keep changing depending on who was saying their numbers (Rick L) I switched to ppm, and I am glad that I did. While I was growing for myself, trying to get the ropes etc, it would not have mattered how I was reading my water, but now... goodness me, thinking that I would be saying everything in microSiemens, and getting questions about how much ppm that would be ... well, I am glad to have switched. Besides, as a German microSiemens... its all in the name you know 😂😂 thank you so much for sitting through this video, I really appreciate your time, amiga!! I shall finish my housekeeping here and then 🛌🥱I think I have one more 'sunny' day tomorrow, and then its going to get really disgusting outside 💆🏼♀️it was so 'sunny' today that my summer bloomers had sun on their leaves without any damage... at least, I hope I got the calculation right? 😬 hope your day was lovely, amiga! Much love to you ❤️🌸🐈❤️
Hi Stephen 🥰💐 thank you!! A lot of theory 😅 but... in a nutshell, this is it! Thank you so much for sitting through a video that is not exactly action packed 😘hope your day is going great, Stephen 🌸
HI Valarie 🥰💐 the variables can make for an interesting discussion! I wish it wasn't such a polarizing subject because we could all learn so much from each other, who does what and why they choose to do it that way etc. But yeah... I am grateful for your feedback, Valarie! Thank you so much for watching and being so encouraging 🙌🏼❤️🌸
Life would be so much easier if people could just agree on something. And I'm talking mostly about Americans, who don't want to follow the standard that the rest of the world uses for measuring. Now how's this for interesting, the US conversion from EC to PPM should be 0.5. Well, I have two TDS pens from two different manufacturers (in case one breaks down, I have a backup). I just went and tested them and the PPM reads the same on both but the EC reads different. Exact same tub of water with feed at 325 PPM at 74.5 F. If I switch to EC, one reads 693 (conversion of .469) and the other 667 (conversion of .487), so neither is 0.5. Having a second tub of water set to a different TDS (115), one EC reads 245, the other 236. So the EC conversion is consistent between both from one solution to another, but not to the standard. So do you trust the PPM or the EC? It is more baffling to me that the PPM is the same on both but the EC is not, if anything it should be the other way around. I just ordered a brand new one because now I am insanely curious to see how it reads.
Don Miguel 🥰💐 hola jefe! ok.... when I started growing orchids and started measuring my fertilizer water from the sprinkle unit to actual concentration using an EC measuring device 😅, I started with everything in microSiemens. Seeing as it is the more accurate of the 2 readings, I thought this was the best way to go about it... besides, Siemens, German... no brainer 😂😂 This was me fiddling around with something I had no clue about, but... started to try to get an understanding of while dyslexia told me that it was way over my head! I stuck with the microSiemens and then I started watching youtube videos and everyone was in ppm ... then Rick L was on about ppm as well, and all the while I am converting, using 0.5 or 0.7 to get a better reference of what quantities everyone was talking about. My logic was...if I thought a ppm mentioned, was too low, I would switch the conversion rate to 0.5 to get a ppm that sounded more sensible 😂😂 it was a mess... just as well I switched to ppm, because doing videos now, I can only imagine the questions if I kept referring to microSiemens 😬 certainly made my life easier in the end! If I was a crop hydroponic grower, where the numbers really needed to be dialled in to pinpoint accuracy for maximum yield, then the EC meter would also be of a higher quality. I don't know what brand / price range your pens are, but... I have 3 and all will read different in ppm. Across the board, low price point, medium and high... I am in the range of 20 - 30 ppm off. So, I don't frustrate myself with that, because that was diving me nuts back in 2019 😂 I would trust the EC. The reason I have 3? Because it drove me nuts as well... now, I use the same one, calibrate it and am done with what I see, based on how much I am adding to water, referring back to the sprinkle measure 😂 thank you for going to the trouble to measure and commenting with your findings! That was neat 👍🏼👍🏼and thank you for watching! Hope your forecast is totally wrong and things are warmer and toastier 😍❤️🌸

Hi Andrea 🥰💐 rainwater is the best! I remember in Kenya, the torrential rains that would just drench my orchids in the trees, and then the sun would come out, humidity at 80%+ and it was heaven! Nothing better than rain water 👍🏼👍🏼 thank you so much for watching, Andrea! I really appreciate seeing you when I post a video 😘have a beautiful day, lovely lady 🌸

Hi Robert 🤗💐 I had the same when I looked into this and wanted to do right by my orchids, get the best readings etc. It took me quite some time to just settle for the ppm option and recognize that I am not a commercial hydroponics grower. EC was 🌪in my brain... 😅 but, it was nice to get that jumble out of my head and put it to rest, settle for ppm and worry about temperatures, which are the biggest threat 😬 hope your day is going fabulously! Thank you so much for watching, Robert 🥰🌸
This was one of the best vids I’ve seen explaining all the basics of EC vs ppm vs water temp vs the 500 vs 700 scale for ppm. My question is if given a temp of 70* Fahrenheit what ppm scale would be better used given that the water base is 0 ppm to start and if using EC measurement which would represent a more accurate ppm score as the content of the solution will be only nutrient dependent? Will ppm in this case still be a better scale to use? Great video, thanks
HI 😍💐 welcome!! I have not seen you here before, so a warm warm welcome and a massive thank you for being here, for watching and for your positive feedback, I truly appreciate it! To answer your question, when it comes to orchids, the accuracy of EC vs PPM is almost irrelevant. Orchids need so little fertilizer that EC accuracy won't make a difference. We are not talking anything above 1000ppm (some growers go that high, and higher depending on what orchid they are growing but it is a very RARE value used in orchid collections that are more common) but, the quantities we apply to our orchids... I would always go with whatever is more comfortable. I started with EC, because I was growing houseplants in SH in Germany back in the 80s. But, when it came to orchids, I found that working with EC was unnecessary. When I started posting videos, I figured that it was time to switch to talking and measuring in ppm because it is the more commonly used measurement. Not sure if I am answering your question properly, but in a nutshell, our orchids need so little, ppm is supposedly easier and the margin of accuracy when going with EC will be totally lost. Let me know if that makes sense or if I have prompted more questions 👍🏼 thank you so much for watching and once again, welcome! ❤️🌸
HI! 😍💐 welcome! I have not seen you here before, so first of all, a warm warm welcome and secondly, thank you so much for being here! I appreciate your time watching the video and the support it provides to the channel 🫶🏼 cropsalt.com/blogs/cropsalt-cultivation-information/conductivity-ec-and-ppm-conversion here is a link to a general conversion chart. If you look at the second line on the left, you will see that 100ppm equates to 0.2 EC. I hope that this helps out and answers your question, as well as, give you other staggered levels when you hear people refer to ppm and not EC. I hope your day is going beautifully for you and once again, welcome 🫶🏼❤️🌸

🫶🏼🙏🏼 have a fabYOUlous day 🌸🥷🏼 Bruce San! If golf is on the schedule, may the birdie streak be on your side! 😃 I played golf since I was 12 years old and loved the game. There isn't a single PGA tournament that I do not follow every weekend .... we can talk fairways and swings 😉🥳
I have played golf for 50 years! But since retirement, I play, at least, 2X a week in a regular foursome. I really don’t care how I shoot, but I walk the course and I don’t consider it a fulfilling round unless I’ve walked 10k steps. I carry a 15 handicap at this point, but scores are totally secondary to me. I’ve played in Asia and Europe, but my highlight was my trip to St. Andrews. I’ll be playing on Sunday, Fathers Day, with my son which is 4 hours of laughs and bonding. I’ve had 3 aces in my life and my next goal is shooting my age. 77! You? As always, as they say in Scotland, kip ur heed dune, Lassie.
Once upon a time, I was a single handicapper (9). I stopped playing tournaments here in Spain because the handicap system wasn't as strict as that in Germany and many golfers on vacation would join tournaments with high handicaps and come in with ridiculous high stableford scores that belied the truth of their playing capabilities, so, I stopped playing tournaments unless they were medal 😅 eventually I became a good weather golfer but could not get passed my need for 'perfection' and ended up more on the practice facility than on the golf course. It turned out that I had some much fun practicing, plotting my way around golf courses in my mind with shots that I wanted to hit, that going on the golf course wasn't as fun anymore. Weird huh? Also, I could hang out by myself, do my thing, and did not have to wait for people ahead to get their act together, wondering if they would let us play through. I loved walking and carrying my bag, turns out most of the golf courses here started to insist that we use buggies. Which did not speed the game up at all. Having a flight of players on vacay ahead, that did not have the etiquette etc, used to drive me nuts. So, bit by bit, I stayed off the course and stuck to the practice facility. I can't play anymore because of my back, hip and shoulder... even thinking about the swing makes me wince. I still have not gotten rid of my clubs though! For you, its St. Andrews, for me it is TPC Sawgrass. I love that course, loved that the caddies implemented stipulations as to pace of play. No nonsense there and people I played with there were all of the same mind set. An honor to play 'here', respectful of the game, the facilities etc. Where I live is also called 'Costa del Golf' because there is a golf course around every corner. However, everyone is vying for the greenfee of the vacationers, so standards are dropping even for the courses that call themselves 5star. I think it is fantastic that you are playing Father's Day with your son!! What a treat and I don't even have to wish you a wonderful time, I know its going to be great! 🫶🏼 I have never had an ace... I hit the rim of the cup once and broke it, but the ball ricochet out and ended up with a bogey 😅 been close but the privilege has eluded me, so, well done on your aces 🙌🏼🥳👍🏼
I don’t know, you lost me at the first 5 minutes about EC 🙃😂. I will rewatch this video at a later time because I am really interested in the matter. It has only to do with me Nina😆. I need a good night rest first 😴😄
