The problem with drum and bugle Corps, today is that they've all been DCI, a my opinion DCI is the reason we no longer have real drum and bugle Corps. They never encourage kids to go onto a senior Corps. When they would interview people at the DCI finals every year, members of all cores with boo hoo and cry I could no longer March in this activity. Old school Drum Corps, kids couldn't wait until I turn 21 to join a senior Drum Corps, including myself when I turn 21 I joined the Long Island sunrises. Encouraging kids to go to senior Corps, perpetuates the entire activity. Is absolutely no need to tour the way DCI demands. Pricing themselves out of business. Plus it one time we had approximately 7,000 drum and bugle Corp between United States and Canada, today I bet there are less than 25 total. Just look at the DCI finals, approximately twenty to twenty-four thousand people in the audience. Years ago we would get that at most local and Regional competitions. They destroyed what was once a great youth activity, giving kids a chance to belong to something learn about music, discipline, and working with others as a team. Today's activity is a marching band competition oh, and it's nothing wrong with marching bands but it is definitely not a real drum and bugle Corp. Today is February 8th 2022. @@stephaniepowell8629 thanks for replying, Im not trolling or hating, have you listened to Mag 7 versions from 2018 back to the 1960s and compared them? One of the best moment of finals used to be the Hurcs post final concert rocking Mag7 in the lot, it just doesn't inspire any longer, something is lost
VaughnDJs I see and I haven’t compared the two no, but I do understand that we use Mag 7 as a post show/rehearsal tradition though we adjust the music now and then.
