81-84 Toyota Pickup/4runner Front Solid Axle Brake Upgrade

The 81-84 factory front solid axle braking system was inferior and usless when large tires and heavy weight are added. The Dual Brake Booster , IFS calipers, and 1" Bore Master Cylinder solves that problem. IFS Calipers allow for larger rotor such as a slotted FJ80 rotor but are essentially identical to the old calipers.

So guys . I have a 85 4runner, adding 31's and a lift, and re doing everything under the frame, braking etc.. What exactly is needed to upgrade front and rear ? like to go from drum to disc in the rear also ? suggestions etc anything change since this video was made ?

Hey I've heard these boosters contact the steering linkage on the 84-85 trucks. Did you have that issue?

You said it was from an 86 with a V6? Are all those parts off a land cruiser or 4Runner? Thank you

I though it needed fj40/60 rotors

This upgrade had everything but the fj rotors. At the time i was on a budget and couldnt afford the expensive slotted rotors. They complete the upgrade but this was a major improvement.
