Fun fact, Lancer as a word already existed. It first described mercenary calvary soldiers who performed the same role as knights, but didn’t get all the glory for doing the job. Which in turn, inspired its usage as the Lancer trope, referring to a character who isn’t quite the main character, but still does the job without the same recognition the main character does.

EDIT: I've now read all of the current KSBD books and need book 6 already... I only finished book 5 tonight.
There is an RPG for Kill Six Billion Demons, it's called Broken Worlds. You can pretty much get access to a PDF of it by paying a dollar on Tom Parkinson Morgan's Patreon.

The first Lancer campaign I played in was in a homebrew setting so I didn't really understand the corpros or mechs. This is actually a decent overview :D
I was searching for a way to play a knight from Warhammer 40k in DnD, seems like I have found it... ...other than Warforged + Rune Knight + Dual Wielder + Two Weapon Fighting, reflavor mace as a power claw and longsword as a chainsword to get a Knight Garrard
you even have noble families with mechs in Lancer pretty similar to the ones with imperial knights in Warhammer they're with the karrakian trade baronies if you wish to check out
It's a beautiful game, but it just doesn't make sense to me . Maybe if they make a deal with kallamity's Luka the greatest f-ing mech miniature sculpter ever. I could back it up.
Honestly, half the companies belong in a different setting to the other half; you have totally bitching, beleivable walking tanks on one hand with huge guns and all that battletech-style hotness. But on the other side, there are transhumanist weebs making zippy anime mecha and some serious Event Horizon level shit coming out of Horus. The wildly inconsistent tech base and aesthetics don't really fit together believably, but if you can handle the kitchen sink worldbuilding, the art is gorgeous, the writing is high quality and the game itself is very well made and fun to actually play. 👍
Man this shit is exactly what I was hoping to do for a mech based campaign wanted it to be MechWarrior but let my players go all build a bear with theirs as long as it fit the right era, company/brand/etc.

I like it, it's robotic enough to avoid the uncanny valley while also being smooth enough to avoid the skipping problem that many tts have.
I think it is a human. It makes flaws I/E 6 billion demonS instead of demon. Robots dont make flaws, thats a human trying to sound like a robot.

No. You do that with ips-n
should I start with licence level 1 or 0 when making a pilot?
You start at LL0 by default, so I'd stay with that if you're new to the system.
