I threw a challenge to the Thar diesel automatic if it could break the 20 kmpl barrier or not on a 170+ km highway drive. See the end result for yourself...

Practically saying, if you dive at 100 you'll reach destination ~10 min early compared to a person driving at 80-85kmph. But this increases your maintenance and fuel prices a lot. From my experience, driving under 90 reduced braking and gear changes a lot. So i am saving my transmission life, my brake pads, a calm drive and also saving money on fuel.

Meri Thar manual ( diesel ) ne highway pe 14 ki mileage di hai and city mein 11-12 ki. Abhi 4000 ke aas paas chali hai.

Sir i still value your opinion a lot.. I am planning on a car with good ground clearance and comfortable long highway ride since several of us have back pain issues at home... Between the Innova Thar and Harrier overall which will be the best bet considering long term service also?

Between Harrier and Innova, though I love the Harrier, the Innova might be better keeping comfort and long ownership experience

I test drove one and once the foot is off the accelerator in the sixth gear the speed drops till 45 kmph so by those means it will do more than 20kmpl in city runs driving with a light foot

I heard that there is an issue with fuel sender unit that’s not showing proper fuel gauge reading...
If it’s 19 kmpl is great 👍🏻 with a 2200 cc aprox engine 2.2 Ltrs engine

Thanks for the informative video, Bunny. I have one observation and one question. Observation: What is the squeaking noise at about 07:25 min to 07:29 min in the video ? Is it cabin rattle or something else ? Question: When we stop at the auto cutoff, I feel the amount of fuel it fills depends on the amount available in the tank. Being diesel, it is a viscous fluid (than petrol) and has a tendency to froth. This limits the amount taken in prior to auto cut. Also, the speed of filling (Notch setting 1/2/3) fuel also has an effect on the frothing , and, subsequently on the time of auto cut. Therefore, can we rely on auto cut for an accurate reading ?
The same mileage test can you try to in XUV 300 PETROL ... Also this particular model is in good sales which most of them are dilemma to choose XUV 300 PETROL

Too good mileage, your reviews are straight forward, point to and genuine. You've Done a mileage review of Ford aspire diesel which is correct in real life. I own a Ford freestyle diesel which gives me 24 kmpl on average on highway which I done a trip of 2200 km.

It will improove only in highway runs. In city rides u can expecg within 12 to 14 only

40 psi is too high for polo.i would recommend a maximum of 37 psi with nitrogen air and linear accleration.

Bad fuel efficiency for a small 2ltr diesel engine with barely 130hp.
Audi's 3ltr v6 diesel does 25kmpl at way higher speeds with 260hp and 650nm

that's city mileage for diesel variant, highway mileage is way better for the diesel variant.
