Flight sim just came out on xbox and I've always wanted to fly a 747 in a sim! I am a student pilot and am aspiring to be a 747 pilot irl. Its very cool to be able to fly this in a sim. Vid was very helpful, without you I would be clueless lmao. Great vid, earned a like a sub.
One small suggestion or request for these type of "control panel" videos: Turn on the panel lights so they aren't so dark and sillhueted against the bright windscreen. Or fly in the opposite direction of the sun.
Love this tutorial. I just got familiar with Airbus A320. After getting into the cockpit of a Boeing and fiddling around the dials, I quickly realized I'd better watch a tutorial. Your lesson is just at the right level for me. Thanks!
This is similar to the autopilot in the Beechcraft King Air 350, good lesson. I couldn't figure out why it would not seek an altitude without setting a vertical speed first.
I too noticed that the bank angle and heading adjust knobs were highly irritating-- as far as the fact that it's very easy to mouse over the wrong one.
Hey great video, I wanted to ask how could I make the aircraft follow my flight plan. I dont know if you said this in the video already so maybe I missed it.
I have problem, that when I put on altidude hold mode then it turns on speed hold too BUT I cant turn them off anymore. WHAT DO I DOOOOO PLEASE SOMEONE
Ok, just tried a flight after taking careful notes from your video. Everything was fine, until I wanted to increase air speed with my locked altitude already in place. When I raised air speed from 200 (like in your video), to 230, it ignored the altitude hold at 5,000' and started increasing altitude. How do I tell the auto pilot to increase speed without increasing altitude? It basically ignored the hold command entirely. Once I entered this problem, I began cyclical porposing of the aircraft, as I struggled with too high too low, etc. The only thing I could set and forget was the heading. That never presented any further problems. Also just noticed that I never lifted the flaps back up after takeoff. Could that also explain some problems? I was so hell bent on raising the gear and hitting the auto pilot switch, that I didn't think about the flaps.
Yes you can change alltitude by vertical speed but at the altitude you where on ( 20.000 feet) its better to just use fl ch standing for flightlevel change but overal its a good tutorial.
Once you are at a given altitude and you want to climb or decent, set the required altitude and just push FLC (flight level change) i.s.o. all the vert speed husle.
I had the F/D turned on at the same time as the auto pilot which was at the same time as the auto throttle. Was that my big mistake, and why the plane wouldn't take to my auto pilot settings at all? EDIT-- Never mind. I hadn't watched the whole thing at the time I asked that. Not only is this weird for the Airbus people, but this is different from the FS9 B737-400 as well. I was always used to the green lights meaning that the function is "ON" and can be switched by turning that knobs at that exact point. Not that it was on "HOLD" and you had to undo the "HOLD" to make changes.
i never saw a video like this i could not figure out how to keep it activated or changing it without fucking up but you so solved that problem for me thanks alot greatly appreciated and yes i did subscribe thank you buddy 👍👍✈✈
Please help. When I take off with a 747 without setting anything on the autopilot I lose all control over my thrust. The plane sets it to 80 percent and I don't know how to override it. And when I landed again after somehow forcing the plane to set the throttle to 0, it pushes the engines to max thrust so it is literally impossible to land. WHAT IS HAPPENING? PLEASE HELP I JUST WANT TO FLY
Hi Eric its kinda hard for me to tell whats wrong without seeing the take off and landing configuration of the aircraft. If you have discord you can join my server and maybe I can facilitate one of your flights when I have the time.
@@swales3511 It is the premium game but, dont worry if you get the basic game you can chose to have it upgraded in game if you decide you want to fly the 787 (what I did) for the price im not too sure I forgot how much I paid but I think it was like 100 dollars total.
It's not just a little bit different from airbus this iteration is straight up buggy. Via another video (and possibly included in this one and I've not gotten to it yet) the main thing I needed to be told was to ensure the pink marker for V/S in displayed. Requires 2 clicks many times. Now that I know this it flies more or less how I expect. =D
@@Decivye I checked it, but you just land there.... do you know what I mean with "direct"? I mean a shortcut in flight plan. I seem it is not possible on those boeing (747 and 787) but possible on the 320 neo. What do you think?
Thanks for the tutorial! Now I have a problem with air speed. When reaching about 30000ft, the plane starts losing air speed even though I set higher speed and thrust is on full power. At crusing altitude I'm stuck at about 260knots. Could you tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Glad this video helped you! To be honest I have not experienced flying at higher altitudes with the 747 yet so im gonna have to check it out for myself :)
It’s because you’re at high altitude, if you check your groundspeed it’ll be around 450 knots. Don’t know how to explain it, I’ll leave that to the pros
Has to do with how the speed is measured (basically a tube in the airstream outside the fuselage). The thinner air lets the aircraft „feel“ a speed less than its real ground speed. This is your indicated airspeed.
16:31 -- At the exact moment you said "I'm going to turn on auto pilot", I saw the 'L CMD' button light come on, but you never moused over it and clicked on it. Your mouse arrow was off toward the left of the screen. So I'm curious how you actually turned that on at that exact moment?
@@Decivye Yeah, it's really unfortunate. The Airbus is nice (especially with the NX mod) but I'd really like to do some long hauls without having to worry about the autopilot trying to kill me all the time.
The 747 is a bunch of BS! No wonder they scrapped this POS! I cannot get the AP to work no matter how many times I rewatch your video and read my notes.
