Thought I'd give some advice here so I spoke to my friend who is a UK actor who has done it for 19 years, he is really quite successful and who I have worked with as a production assistant several times. Here are his 3 tips.... 1) Get some professional training. Even if your the best natural actor in the world this shows your dedicated and will hone those skills. It will also teach you certain phrases you will hear on set and then you won't have to ask what they mean. 2) DO NOT under any circumstances mention social media in an audition. Casting directors hate it. They don't care how many followers you have and if you share everything on social media they may not want to let you see the script or be around any big names. 3) Be realistic and manage your expectations. Your never guaranteed your next acting role. 97% of actors either work or have worked regular jobs. Even some bigger names go back to regular jobs, you just don't hear about it much. Their not all as rich as you might think. Sometimes a big film might not pay much but it could lead to a commercial that pays more than you can imagine. You may be surprised what roles earn you bigger money....In this industry you've 'made it' if your getting a paycheck.

I'm trying to be an actor since 14 can you give some advice please?
Yes! The first step is to learn how to act. Take classes whenever you can and read books about acting(the craft and also the business side of things). I personally really love Uta Hagen's "A Challenge For The Actor." It was the first acting book I ever read. Also read Anthony Abeson's book, and Jen Fischer's book. TH-cam is also a good source for voice/speech exercises, learning dialects, scene study, etc. Learn monologues and record them. Watch them and critique yourself and keep practicing!!!
Nice! Is there any movies that you are in and if so I’ll have to watch it anyways keep up the good work!
You are an actor…I see not struggles…I see a lot of success
Thank you for the encouragement!
You’re awesome
Curious, how much do you make as a receptionist at the investment banking firm?
I feel ya
May I ask how you make time for auditions and may acting training while working full time at the investment firm?
Well I work a more part time job now as a waiter, but honestly it's still hard. The auditions come sporadically and it somehow always lines up where I get a very last minute audition due as I'm heading into work. I have no strategy, just doing my best lol
@@KyonneSmith hmm wishing us good luck
How much of your day do you dedicate to acting? Are you able to read lines on the train or at work, or do film/tv study during and after your meal? Thanks for sharing
You are doing well. Keep it up
Me 2(day job). I c u as a cool villain like.
The camera ontop of the books is so relatable ! 🤣
Lmaooo because i def don't have a tripod for that. I use my cell phone for all self tapes now
Ok I want to be part of this journey cause I wanna learn more since it's be my passion too
as a teen actor I really truly love my job yeah it can be a hard and stressful job but it is really amazing rn my hours are from 4:30 am to 2:00 am but I got home early today
They're breaking child employment laws by making you work those hours.
What jobs do yall recomend having while starting acting carrer
😍😍
Nice look😮
Wow yes what a struggle... Got everything you needed and wanted and had no struggles what so ever...
She has a day job to avoid said struggles. Shes smart.
I don't know man but something about watching other actors makes me feel like doing something similar, a work of art that will make someone feel something watching it something that will last. i don't care for money or fame i care about being in a community of other like minded people , and I don't feel like pursuing any career that doesn't involve creativity I iust feel stuck pursuing something I don't like. anyways if somebody reads this thanks
hi, the auditions are usually held during working hours? plz can anyone tell me how they manage auditioning and working. thanks
