Minor point; The WG(N)C34 Stagea isn't a Skyline wagon - it's based on the C34 Laurel. I've had an '96 RS4V since 2004 and it's a great car.
Drove a Stagea 260RS a few months ago, it's a lovely drive. Wish I had of bought it. Was DRIPPING with aftermarket parts!

The 2JZ is just far more reliable in every aspect. I used to want a skyline (R34) soo bad, but the Stagea is now in its place...R34 front end conversion = bliss. Like you say Markus its just such a nice car.

Dee T Yes they are very common around here. I think they are a big improvement for sure, but I wouldn't say they were a looker. A Mazda 6 wagon is IMO a looker - but sadly they aren't much of a drivers car, whereas the Stagea definitely is.
The third generation mazda 6 is a great car to drive (sporty) but it won't blow your socks off that's for sure but it's damn good for what it is, It a pitty the wagon version isn't sold in northamerica.
+Matthew Sharpe I'm in the US and they are not available here at all until they become over 25 years old, but I still like it. I agree though, the second generation looks a lot better.
Gotta admit - I don't really have much interest in some of these cars but the video quality, presentation, pace, music, and host really make feel like watching each and every show. Nicely done.

I had a series 2 260RS, they have a lot more power than nissan says. Every tune my dyno sheet said 340hp at the wheels, as far as I know it was stock. I found also the gearing and the high redline, well I got a speeding ticket in 2nd doing 130 kph.

When I was living in Japan I was told that Stagea GTR was faster than Skyline GTR because of the aerodynamics.

I believe it to be 0.7 bar which is 10 psi from the factory, at least that's what's going on with my r32 GTR.

Considering that these go for around $11k up here, I would love to see what you could do with a $5k Subaru GTb with $6k put into it. Would be an interesting comparrison!
You should upgrade your mic set up for the podcast, would make it a lot easier to listen to with better sound quality

Later this week I will be going to see if I can import a 2001 Stagea RSFour with the RB25det and auto transmission as my daily so I'm pretty happy about that, Id love to go manual but it's a daily and this stagea you are reviewing to me seems more like a sports car than a wagon with the RB26 and manual, the ideal daily to me is something with a fun engine and an automatic for traffic
the 25det auto Stagea is gutless. I owned one for a year.

Still patiently awaiting the e30 video's.
Both the turbo E30's we had lined up to drive had problems and are being re-built/repaired. We do however have a crazy E30 build I think you will like, and we're filming that in the next 2 weeks or so.
Marcus do the 2jz chaser. I'm not sure if you or smoking tire already did it but please do it. It's a perfect daily. A four door 2jz what could be better. Except maybe this stage with a skyline front end

Yes! haha that's completely stock. I know, first time I saw a Stagea it was the weirdest thing. I've seen multiple and they're all like that.
Nissan skyline R32, Laurel, Cefiro, maxima all have the same.
The double unicorn build is cooler imo :/
Pretty much stock car vs highly modified v8 turbo. Do that to any car and it's cooler you fucking toolbox.
+oisinmcdaid the double unicorn is not highly modified to be honest. They only did some parts modifications to make it fit and work.
It is still like here an engine swap.
***** If having a GTR front end swap, V8 + turbo swap, suspension, tires, wheels, and other misc things doesn't qualify as highly modified, you must have close to stock 2JZ Civics with quad turbos.
+oisinmcdaid I honestly do not see what me owning a civic has to do with anything even though I do not even own one...
Secondly, yes I do not see suspension and tyres and an engine swap as a heavy modification. The engine is still stock. Heavy means changing much more to me. Headers, pistons, so basically stage mods, etc...
But I guess our opinions are different, lets leave it at that.
Trust me, if you tried to swap that engine into the car, you would understand it is a very heavy modification, haha. Headers are not a heavy mod, they're usually bolt in, and way more simple than swapping an engine that was never meant to fit. Even swapping pistons would be much simpler.
