Long match and world championship is not a tournament. You will meet the same person further many times, and there is no point to reveal your thoughts about game in detail.

Mandarin/English translators are not rare at all, there are probably several of them in Kazakhstan and a ton of them worldwide 3. All of this is just besides the point since the translator doesn't need to be from Kazakhstan. The English/Russian translators aren't as far as I know (one had a very thick British accent so maybe he wasn't Kazakh), FIDE just buys their services which is normal. 4. This has absolutely nothing to do with tourism. Tourism has a negligeable impact on linguistic composition in most places. Migrations, politics, history and other factors are way more significant. Ian couldn't decide to play on and Ding didn't want to and made the draw(best move !!). THey could have played on, but the outcome would always be a draw. Do they want them to spit out their preparation and stategies? d4 instead of e4 surprising? Call me, when they play to win.
Instead of getting Ding a proper translator, they replaced the Russian translator to one that mistranslates things. I guess it balances things out a bit
