The Eagle MK 4 will always have a special place in my heart... I remember when I was 5-6 years old, my older brother got this CD with a lot of demos from a magazine, I believe it was called metal hammer, he was playing the TDR demo and I remember loving that car, for me it was so cool looking that I used to draw it a lot, very poorly I might add but hey, at least I tried haha. Fast forward two months later, I went with mom and dad to the local office depot when I saw it, carmageddon, it was a classic big box of game, the cover was the one with the licence plate, it was bundle with a copy of Ballistics (good game btw) and I remember begging my parents to buy it, luckily for me they were in a really good mood so, they bought it, I don't remember being more happy than that day, I played this game for hours and still have the CD in it's Jewel case, such a legendary game for me, it was my first original game and my first carmageddon. Now, couple years later, me being 24 and living alone, seeing your carmageddon videos... Brings me back to the good old times... It may sound weird, but thanks for unlocking such good memories of my childhood ❤️
That is a great story, my first Carmageddon was TDR 2000 when I was about 11. If I remember correctly, I had it as a collection of game discs from Time Computers and this, along with VR sports Powerboat Racing I used for play for hours.
The Eagle R could have been called Eagle 5, Stainless didn't want to acknowledge TDR2000 but if TDR accomplished something it's making another nice version of the Eagle.
Eagle 2 and tez Eagle are the most ugliest iterations of Eagle. Sure, they look like the batmobile and look like they'll last longer, but it's not curvey like all the other eagle's we know and love in the list
Speak for yourself. Tdr2000 was underrated by many. Quality of car models as well as driving was objectively better in Tdr than in carpocalips now.... 🙄
@@Wargulpartal All the years later they still want to shit on TDR2000, sure in my opinion Carmageddon 2 is better than TDR2000 but both of them are pretty good games for sure.
@@Wargulpartal In TDR2000, occasionally when you smash an opponent between an object and your vehicle, you may unexpectedly die instantly. In Carpocalypse damage models are more polished and it overall feels better, it is also so fun to divide cars in 2. In TDR2000 it is more unpredictable and sometimes it acts janky. TDR2000's physics and destruction are poor compared to the Carpocalypse, with only head-on collisions causing significant damage to enemy cars. AI in TDR2000 teleports too much. I know there were limitations back then and it happens in other ones too but TDR 2000 takes the cake. They had to limit it a little bit. New vehicles, nosebleed pack adds cool vehicles to the game but they are available from start and not balanced. That being said most people who complain about TDR2000 complain because they have skill issue. Other than that it is a great game with some issues that had to be fixed but its been a long time now and its fun regardless. It was the first Carmageddon I ever played when I was a kid but as I finished it I started playing the other two and to be honest I really really liked Carpocalypse.
@@trueweapon2349 In departament of physics and car models, I disagree. Driving in TDR was more controllable than in carpocalipse and models propably used more poligons. I do agree destruction may be more risky in tdr and more challenging, for some it may be frustrating. Although, I don't find it AS buggy and random, as some people may find. I don't mind the change of validity of hits almost only registered on front: it's like an attempt to make it less random when played with human players. Overall, what's diffrent between 2 and third instalment is also vibe, what you kinda mentioned. I would say the carpocalypse now has a Postal vibe or parody, wheras TDR2000 is an actual postapocaliptic landscape. It's pretty much uniqe. The first Carmageddon was more industrial and cyberpunk to the mix. So, all first three instalments are original and diffrent.
