Wasn't she trained by Straizo who is one of Tonpetty best students and later even become his succesor? Does Straizo didn't know that Hamon can be used to see fate?

Furthermore, who really did shoot Base World Johnny according to him? Valentine supposedly made all the shots from ambush till Johnny's escape. Moreover, they must also see Johnny turning into a hole and then going into the sewers, something which is not addressed in this video Also, at one point you show how Valentine sees alternate Wekapipo behind the flag and Diego on the roof during his pov You show this to suggest that he knew their position and was hence able to conduct Diego's pov This means that Diego and alternate Wekapipo are currently in root world, but the panel appears after Johnny goes into the sewers so the sewers must already be bloody with a Johnny inside it And we know that ALL 3 saw Johnny turn into a bullet hole and escape the sewers(this being a key issue) The one for Wekapipo is simple enough as per your explanation So which Johnny escaped the sewers in Diego's case? We know that the panel showing Diego and Wekapipo(shown to us AFTER Valentine shoots Johnny and sees him exit through the sewers) in those positions was at a time BEFORE Diego fought with alternate Wekapipo (as evidenced by the flag being erect in that panel) and hence BEFORE Diego shot Johnny Joestar and saw him going into the sewers So what exactly did happen in the root world according to your explanation? Did Valentine shoot Johnny from ambush till he turned into a hole? If that's the case then how can Diego's pov be replicated as per your explanation? If Diego was the one to shoot root world Johnny that was already shot and see him turn into a hole, then how can Valentine's pov work? Because remember that all 3 must see Johnny turn into a hole and leave AND Johnny must also know that all 3 somehow shot him and that Diego and Wekapipo were "made to shoot him" Your explanation doesn't address these strict discrepancies The dialogue between Wekapipo and Diego is also different between the 2 POVs Moreover, another problem with this arc (less of an Araki forgot and more of a contrivance) is that that even if Valentine were to do everything perfectly well, he doesn't have control over the actions of anyone he transfers I'm mentioning this because Valentine, Wekapipo AND Diego shoot Johnny in the exact same places and Johnny as well reacts in the exact same way(turn into a hole and escape through the sewers)
The logic of how Stands can see is confusing. In the Ebony Devil fight Polneraff was tied under the bed and needed to use the broken mirror shards for Silver Chariot to strike down Ebony Devil. Apparently, Stands cannot see on their own, without the User there to see the action. That being said, there are times in which Stands can act and fight without needing the User to specifically see the action. White Snake being able to snatch Jotaro's memory & Stand operated without Pucci being there to see the action. Koichi's plan to dial a pay phone when he was kidnapped by Yukako would require Echoes Act 1 to see the keypad. Diver Down being able to go through walls but still operate without Anasui seeing what he is taking. There's probably a lot more. It's even more confusing when some Stands, like Star Platinium, have advanced sight as shown in the older Darby gambling fight and that time Jotaro had it draw a fly in Dio's picture.
In one of the Part 7 chapters, it is said that D4C cant bring money in other worlds. However this seems to have been contradicted when Diego and Hot Pants used a plan to have 2 different bank notes from different worlds collide. Could you explain if this was a mistranslation or if not an Araki forgot

The premonition stuff came afterwards, but I do believe Araki thought giving him clairvoyance came from the fact that he knew what other people would say, because of how observant he was. The one use I can think of is a fairly niche one. If he needed to examine a really, really fast and nimble sea critter. And even then, Star Platinum's eyes are so Sharp that Stand Vision can do that easily.
To be fair, there's only so much you can do in like... 5 seconds of stopped time. I mean, I guess you could use it to catch something you drop, but, at that point, your stand already has incredible reflexes that can catch a bullet, you don't need to stop time for that. It's like driving a car to cross the street; you could, but, there's an easier way.
@@JoyKirbs yes but it's stated that the time stop ability can be expanded to more time, we don't know if there's a limit. Even 11 seconds (DIO's amount in part 3) could be useful for mundane tasks, if you can get it to minutes it's a godsend

I always see people saying that Notorious BIG in part 5 required the user to die to be active. Maybe it's anime only but when the user summons the stand it has a more humanoid appearance. On my first watch I thought the death aspect was actually unknown to the user and I like that idea
He does have a humanoid version of the stand briefly in the manga too. The power as its described by the graffiti in the plane is that the user bore a grudge against Team Bucciarati for killing him, and through the lingering hatred, BIG got more powerful. The graffiti does mention that the user wasn't aware that his stand reached its true power after being killed, so you are right about that. So since it supposedly works similarly to Ebony Devil, perhaps when he was alive, normally the humanoid version remained active even if the user is knocked out, but he was not expecting to be killed so quickly.
The way carne initiated the fight got me thinking that his plan was just “ imma rock up on these dorks while making the most pissed off face imaginable, hit them with my fight stance and open up a tall cold can of whoop ass
Notorious BIG most likely had the same ability when the user was alive, that being the ability to absorb kinetic energy. This is probably why Carne kept walking towards Miata, since he thought his ability would save him and underestimated Mista’s marksmanship. Getting killed sent Notorious BIG on a rampage, and it basically became an automatic stand like Sheer Heart attack.
i always liked a theory I read that his true ability is that once notorious big kills whoever killed him and satisfies his grudge, the stand revives him. So basically his stand would be one where, if you kill him his stand will hunt you down, and then bring him back to life

12:05 on the topic of people thinking that Johnathan was reincarnated as Star Platinum, I always liked that idea that the reason DIO was so scared in his final moments wasn't just because he was dying, but because when he saw Star Platinum, he was reminded of Johnathan. However, I must stress that this is just a headcannon of mine. It is NEVER stated in the manga at all, nor do I think that it was Araki's intention in the first place. And no, it's not in an obscure interview either. Again, it's just a personal headcannon.
Jonathan was as reasonably angry at Dio as anyone would be at a mass murdering Vampire that killed his father, but in his final moments, he still loved him as his brother. I don't like the idea that Jonathan would be so vengeful that he reincarnates as a stand just to kill Dio again.
I had this same theory in mind because the way Jotaro defeats him is a lot like how Jonathan defeated DIO in his castle, in both ocassions he says how he's inmortal and he's supposed to never die while his body burns to a crisp. Or maybe it's like a parallel between Jotaro and Jonathan, because Jonathan was pure at heart and used hamon to oppose Dio's powers, while Jotaro was pretty much like DIO in his youth, always starting shit w/ people and getting anything he wanted, they even share the same stand type to make that parallel more clear.

(Which is why fate decided to trap him in a looped death forever so that he couldn't be able to escape fate) you're missing the fact that stands have a higher and more personal purpose for all of their stand users. They represent their inner-most talents and desires. Diavolo's talent and desire isn't to see into the future jump 10 seconds ahead. His desire is to go around his fate. Keeping that in mind, the stand will have powers deliberately have abilities that would sort of reach that. Let's put it into practice: He thinks of a future where he captures Trish from bucciarati before bucciarati could react. Possibility no1: buccoarati's fate doesn't react fast enough due to lack of focus or whatever. And since time skipped, he's even more confused of what happened. So even if he had reacted, he wouldn't have the memory of reacting, so it doesn't even matter. Possibility no2: King Crimson has the ability to not be affected by fate during those 10 seconds of deletion. Bucciarati's reaction to King Crimson's is a negative fate against king Crimson. So it never occurs. Which is why the difference between time skip and time deletion is an important difference. Possibility no3: same as no2 but the reason being that since the mind is an emergence in the universe, that means that one's mind isn't a deterministic function in the universe. But fate exists to correct that. So while people might think of something and do something against fate, they will be allowed to try, but will be corrected in the future, sooner or later. Meaning that the deletion of the time, which completely deletes the mind's potential memory that still hasn't occurred, causes the mind to not think of reacting. And that isn't against fate because it will be corrected in the future. As for the scenario for Bucciarati, or the funny option of everyone see King Crimson hoped into someone after killing Narancia and then forgetting why they were looking. That really sounds good, but Epitaph will see fate making it inevitable, so it probably implies he's randomly using it with time skips. If he saw a vision of him stealing Trish, then he could've seen Bucciarati in view giving him a fixed place in fate. It honestly sounds like a good piece of character detail blindly and hasty taking chances while using a little fate to change the outcome of everything. The only question left is what about blood in the anime it looks like he's doing it in time deletion and if done outside would've gave reaction time. If he could do that then why not knives
A lot of it has to do with reading capabilities, but the themes and events of JoJo's can be quite esoteric and dense at times - inviting a lot of confusion/people not patient enough to think, sit, and read.

Regarding the “time stop puts strain on Jotaro’s heart” thing, I think it partially came from the idea that DIO can stop time much longer than Jotaro, and seems to be able to theoretically extend the ability with practice, while Jotaro’s never gone beyond 5 seconds. And people chalk this up to DIO being a vampire with an extremely durable, and regenerating body, which is why he can put more “strain” on himself. Recursively, people assume that time stop puts more strain on Jotaro which is why he can’t use it as long, and then they just assumed straining the heart made sense. Did you ever cover why Jotaro couldn’t stop time for as long during Made in Heaven? I have seen a lot of confidently wrong misinformation about that one.
Im not entirely sure but if im remembering correctly i think he said its because of puccis ability made the time pass by faster even in stop time but if im wrong someone correct me

MiH accelerates time, but time stop halts acceleration and velocity of time entirely before releasing, at which point time resumes at the same acceleration (normally zero, but during MiH it’s obviously a positive number). So if that’s the case, how can Pucci’s acceleration of time be influencing Jotaro’s length of time stop? I can buy Pucci moving his eyes in stopped time when Jotaro threw the harpoon, since Pucci had gravity and gravity and time are related, but I think the original question is a separate matter entirely.

Since MiH as a stand is accelerating the entire universe, however, that would include this greater force within it. Just... don't try and think of what force that could be, we're already way deeper than Araki ever thought we would.
I don't know if there is an official explanation, but i think it is because jotaro does not "stop time" with his power. He just accelerate itself to a point where the rest of the universe moves so slowly it looks like time stop (in phisic if you accelerate yourself to move at the speed of light, the rest of the world will appear as if time froze). So puccy accelarating time makes jotaro perceve his time stop as shorten.

Thank you so much for explaining that Time Stop has no bodily effects on the user. It's so annoying to see people arguing that DIO would have had infinite time stop at some point once he fully assimilated Jonathan's body because he was a vampire and was immortal. It's very likely Dio BELIEVES he could keep growing The World's ability forever, but there's no reason he couldn't be wrong. Time Stop seems to be tied to Stand development (seeing as Jotaro not using it diminished the time it lasts) and nothing body related.
This is also true when we consider (SPOILERS FOR PART 7) AU Diego with THE WORLD seems to be able to use a full five second time stop without any adverse health effects on display despite being fully human. Additionally, similar time-related stands like King Crimson also don't seem to have a harsh effect on the human body despite it making sense that it would take a similarly enormous amount of spiritual energy to do time shennanigans, but it does not. I think it's fairly safe to assume that time powers, unless specified, doesn't put the body through any significant appearing strain.
I always make a joke about how it looked like jotaro uses hamon in part 4 at the very end, and he took a deep breath like jonathan and joseph did, his hamon is stored in his stand.
In fairness, the kanji used for "Stand" literally uses the same characters as "Hamon" and translates to "Ghostly Ripple". The two are intrinsically linked as manifestations of life energy, just expressed in different ways.
When it comes to Esidesi copying Joseph's "Next you'll say..." you could have just said the Pillarmen have 300iq and Santana (the infant of the group) was intelligent enough to become fluent in English\Japanese\German phonetics after hearing 1 sentance, which is impossible. So of course Esidesi would know how to do it and mock Joseph.
30:10 I would like to add that Jolyne didn't give a damn if what she did was pointless or useful or the best way to handle the situation. She just thought it was the right thing to do, and as we've seen in other parts, that's what separates the good guys from the antagonists that inevitably fail.

So, i will try to explain as simply as i can: King Crimson has the ability to skip up to 10 seconds of time. EVERYTHING that is fated to happen will happen. So, Diavolo would have killed Narancia anyway, but he skipped time so that nobody would know he was there. So, in simple terms: Diavolo would have been fated to kill Narancia, but he erased the time when he (Diavolo) killed Narancia so that nobody would have seen him, letting him remain hidden so that nobody would have known where he was in that moment. If it doesn't make sense, don't worry, King Crimson is kind of difficult to understand.
@@moodyjazz69 to add to that, the moment Epitaph shows him attacking/killing Narancia and once he uses the ability, he does not need to do anything for Narancia to die, he could teleport to Japan (only hypothetical, he cannot do that lol) during the ability and Narancia would still die as he does, it does not matter, if Epitaph predicts him killing/harming somebody, they are done for (unless you have GER), since only Diavolo can erase his fate of death/injury etc...this is what makes KC + Epitaph predicting him killing somebody so scary (I mean, he cannot interact, minus the blood from his body since it is not part of himself, nor be interacted with during the ability). But since Diavolo is still slave to Fate, he cannot control what Epitaph shows him, so showing him such a massive prediction almost does not happen. It is essentially as if Narancia's own fate itself put him up there and why nobody noticed. Because effectively, Diavolo changed his fate and erased the action which was connected to them reacting to said Diavolo action and his own action that put Narancia there (furthemore Chariot Requiem greatly boosted Stand abilities, so it was possible for a Stand like King Crimson to do normally then), but when he used his ability and thus did not attack, their perception of this segment on top of that got erased, it sort of aligned with Diavolo not attacking because he instead used the ability, erasing his action that would attack and put Narancia onto the bars, and instead he did not move, changing this fate and thus their reaction to it since if Diavolo, the causer of the action does not do the action, there neither will be a reaction (why they are not suddenly in a battle stance, same as happened with Bruno, this is only if Diavolo is the causer of the action however, so it is a specific condition, not what every time happens). All except for the main target of the prediction (Narancia here), which will retain their fated result that would be made by Diavolo always, since it was directly shown in the prediction, even if Diavolo just sits there during the ability and just watches, no matter what if it is predicted, the target will end up in their fated outcome on their own(after all Diavolo cannot interact during it, all he can do is to move around, he is outside of time and fate), unless you have GER that is. Of course, we have to theorise a bit based on what we are shown and what we are not shown, since this scene is not shown from Diavolo's PoV, we must guess and use our imagination as per what King Crimson is and how it is presented, so there always will be some "plausible head-canon" since the scene is never shown.

Its not a plot hole that Joseph didn't pass down any Hamon. It's a contrivance, definitely, but it aids the story (or, rather, them having Hamon wouldn't help the story and would just overcomplicate it). People complain about contrivances, but something they need to realize is that stories need occasional contrivances ti function at all. It's not deep, it's just "it could happen, statistically, but because it makes the story more interesting to not have it happen, it didn't." It's like asking "why didn't Jotaro die in a car crash before the events of part 3?" Because he didn't. If he did, the story would be less interesting. It's the same fundamental concept, though obviously to a different degree.

Besides, Joseph may have also been helped to get hamon due to his Mother also being a Hamon user. After all, its never implied Caesar's siblings all have Hamon or anything like that so it seems to be genetic chance like most other physical traits.
I remember reading part 6 for the first time and wondering when the thing about Jotaro’s heart would come up but it never did. Then a few years later I was watching Code Geass and got up to the part with Rolo’s ability and I realized “wait is THIS where that came from?”
Jojo fans and DB fans (of which I'm a fan of both) have one thing in common I can't stand. They don't actually pay attention to the series and basically discredit great writers of great series due to their own arrogance.

Thank you for covering the time stop and Jotaro's heart thing. The first time I read it I actually hadn't gotten to Part 6 yet and when I saw the dialogue of Jotaro in Part 6 saying he couldn't just spam the time stop I recognized that's what they meant and I was like "really?" lol
He said that he only needs a brief moment before he can use Ts again. And that is beyond nerfed, disrespect and completely ruined Jotaro from p6. Jotaro and DIO from P3 are completely different. P6 is beyond bad, Araki had to ruin Jotaro so that he can end the verse. That is why Jotaro was beyond nerfed and Pucci was incarnation of plot armor.

The idea that Joseph’s line reading is an enhancement/extension of Hermit Purple (or that it’s at the very least a natural talent of Joseph’s that is bolstered greatly by HP) and the inherent clairvoyant properties of Hamon is perfectly acceptable and doesn’t outright defy anything in canon. It’s fan/head canon for absolute sure, but it’s an incredibly well-founded one with tons of evidence in support of it and very little that outright disproves it. Even if this IS the case though, it doesn’t preclude other incredibly intelligent or observant characters from being able to do a similar trick. Joseph just does it CONSTANTLY as a young man, when his Hamon is at peak strength, whereas he only does it once as an old man in Part 3 in the fight where he is MOST exercising his Hamon and HP. The fact that he almost never does it past Part 2 can easily be explained by Joseph neglecting his Hamon to the point where HP is too weak to almost ever let Joseph intuit this knowledge

You can also see how the ink drifts off of the lottery ticket and how the 木 character is much smaller than the rest of the kanji in the name
The way I always saw Jotaro and time stop was basically it's a muscle he hasn't worked out in years. Which is why when he says he hasn't used it in 10 years he can barely use it. Like a body builder who could bench a couple of hundred kg wouldn't be able to do that in 10 years if they didn't keep training and using those muscles. It's the same with Jotaro.

Dio Heaven's plan is interesting, because you have to remember Pucci DOESN'T think Dio is evil. This is important, because just because Pucci THINKS Dio wanted to do what was right, and wanted people to live with peace of mind, doesn't mean that is actually what Dio wanted. For all we know Dio's version of heaven could be completely different than Pucci's. In a way, it's somewhat sad since Pucci was probably just playing a game of telephone with himself with Dio's will. We actually have no idea what Dio wouldn't have done if he got a stand similar to made in heaven, or if that stand would've even had the same abilities as made in heaven. Hell, in Eyes of Heaven, Dio legit instantly tries to rule the world with similar power. So Pucci's and Dio's idea of heaven are probably just different. After all Peace of mind can come about in plenty of ways.

A lot of people ask why certain characters, be they villains or heroes, do things that are suboptimal that lead to their loss or total defeat. It's because they have fundamental character flaws. Why did a villain not do X, Y, and Z to ensure victory? Because the character just wouldn't do those things, which are the traits the writer is trying to highlight as bad and therefore leading to their defeat. This doesn't take a writer like Araki either, most writers implant traits they see as bad and therefore the people with those traits lose.

During the Pucci vs Jolyne fight in the swamp, after Pucci throws the disc in Anasui, he stated that discs are unbreakable. Which means that even if time accelerates, the Disc wouldn't be destroyed in the acceleration of time unlike any other non-living object.

Do I want more episodes? Yes. Does it feel like people are grasping at straws? Also yes. If not fanfiction, it also could be from early bad translations of lists of plot points of the novels, there's a bunch of hoaxes on them that persist to this day even with solid full fan-translations, mainly with Jorge Joestar, there's a bunch of things on those old lists that made the rounds that never happened when you actually read the novels. In Purple Haze Feedback, Stroheim is briefly mentioned by Vladmir Kocaqui that survived WWII, so I guess there could be where ppl picked that on, like "oh obviously this guy killed Stroheim in WWII!", logically it doesn't make sense as Kocaqui's backstory tell us that he was a teen on D-Day, obviously wasn't a stand user (at least not a conscious one) or that he encountered Stroheim personally.

Just wanted to point out about Young Joseph and Hermit Purple Statement. I think people simply read the last line and assume it is on the literal sense, while missing the point that Araki was explaining how the process of making Hermit Purple comes about. Which he both explained he wanted to give Joseph a guiding role and that he wanted to translate Hamon into Stand since they use similar concepts (Life Energy/Life Force), and then claims that if the Crusaders saw Young Joseph, they would MAYBE see something LIKE Hermit Purple around Joseph. And since most people only watch the anime, they miss the point that Araki's Hamon is drawed in such a way that it looks like vines around the user, it even has little bits that look a lot like thorns. He is not factually saying that they would see it, he is giving a example of his own process of translating Joseph's Hamon into a Stand, which also doesnt mean that every single Hamon User gets the same stand, simply that it was the process that Araki made for Joseph specifically
I think the pillar men are in the new continuity, they are the rock humans. They are a different species, but still similar to humans, who can turn to stone. They are different from the pillar men in that they dont have to fear the sun, but i view them as a further evolution of the concept behind the pillar men. Basically expanding newer ideas behind them Araki couldnt before because the initial limitations he placed on them. If Kars shows up in part 9 as a rock human leader, that will feel that will show the idea coming full circle.
Yeah, the thing is that they (Pillar Men) only really feared the sun because they used the Mask. The rest of their people were never once stated to suddenly die in sunlight, it was Kars' ambition to conquer the sun that led to him and his using the Mask and it backfiring due to its incomplete nature.
I believe Joseph predicting what someone's going to say is more that he's priming them to _want_ to say the things he's saying. By hearing what Joseph says, that line is put at the front of their minds, so, when they want to say a similar line, they say the line that Joseph "predicted". Basically, Joseph accurately figures out the kind of line someone is about to say based on context, and then he pushes them to say the exact line that Joseph says instead of whatever they were going to think to say.

He himself said that he was shot by "Wekapipo and Diego" but "it was actually Valentine" and that he said that Valentine "brought another Wekapipo and Diego back to make them shoot me"
Now if Wekapipo shot alternate Johnny then wHY would Base World Johnny know about that? Furthermore, who really did shoot Base World Johnny according to him? Valentine supposedly made all the shots from ambush till Johnny's escape.
Moreover, they must also see Johnny turning into a hole and then going into the sewers, something which is not addressed in this video
Also, at one point you show how Valentine sees alternate Wekapipo behind the flag and Diego on the roof during his pov
You show this to suggest that he knew their position and was hence able to conduct Diego's pov
This means that Diego and alternate Wekapipo are currently in root world, but the panel appears after Johnny goes into the sewers so the sewers must already be bloody with a Johnny inside it

The logic of how Stands can see is confusing. In the Ebony Devil fight Polneraff was tied under the bed and needed to use the broken mirror shards for Silver Chariot to strike down Ebony Devil. Apparently, Stands cannot see on their own, without the User there to see the action.
That being said, there are times in which Stands can act and fight without needing the User to specifically see the action. White Snake being able to snatch Jotaro's memory & Stand operated without Pucci being there to see the action. Koichi's plan to dial a pay phone when he was kidnapped by Yukako would require Echoes Act 1 to see the keypad. Diver Down being able to go through walls but still operate without Anasui seeing what he is taking. There's probably a lot more.
It's even more confusing when some Stands, like Star Platinium, have advanced sight as shown in the older Darby gambling fight and that time Jotaro had it draw a fly in Dio's picture.
In one of the Part 7 chapters, it is said that D4C cant bring money in other worlds. However this seems to have been contradicted when Diego and Hot Pants used a plan to have 2 different bank notes from different worlds collide. Could you explain if this was a mistranslation or if not an Araki forgot

Jojo as a whole is a series that gives every scene an intense dramatic angle; which is actually the default for japanese storytelling (granted, jojo is over the top even for those standarts), but very much not the default for western stories (at least not for the popular modern media), so i can sorta understand thinking if an action is framed as a big deal, it must BE a big deal
But like, big deals can also just be character moments or narrativelly significant things, or just plain old cool shots, they don't need to all be supernatural.

I always see people saying that Notorious BIG in part 5 required the user to die to be active. Maybe it's anime only but when the user summons the stand it has a more humanoid appearance. On my first watch I thought the death aspect was actually unknown to the user and I like that idea
He does have a humanoid version of the stand briefly in the manga too. The power as its described by the graffiti in the plane is that the user bore a grudge against Team Bucciarati for killing him, and through the lingering hatred, BIG got more powerful. The graffiti does mention that the user wasn't aware that his stand reached its true power after being killed, so you are right about that. So since it supposedly works similarly to Ebony Devil, perhaps when he was alive, normally the humanoid version remained active even if the user is knocked out, but he was not expecting to be killed so quickly.

Notorious BIG most likely had the same ability when the user was alive, that being the ability to absorb kinetic energy. This is probably why Carne kept walking towards Miata, since he thought his ability would save him and underestimated Mista’s marksmanship.
Getting killed sent Notorious BIG on a rampage, and it basically became an automatic stand like Sheer Heart attack.
i always liked a theory I read that his true ability is that once notorious big kills whoever killed him and satisfies his grudge, the stand revives him. So basically his stand would be one where, if you kill him his stand will hunt you down, and then bring him back to life

However, I must stress that this is just a headcannon of mine. It is NEVER stated in the manga at all, nor do I think that it was Araki's intention in the first place. And no, it's not in an obscure interview either. Again, it's just a personal headcannon.
Jonathan was as reasonably angry at Dio as anyone would be at a mass murdering Vampire that killed his father, but in his final moments, he still loved him as his brother. I don't like the idea that Jonathan would be so vengeful that he reincarnates as a stand just to kill Dio again.
I had this same theory in mind because the way Jotaro defeats him is a lot like how Jonathan defeated DIO in his castle, in both ocassions he says how he's inmortal and he's supposed to never die while his body burns to a crisp.
Or maybe it's like a parallel between Jotaro and Jonathan, because Jonathan was pure at heart and used hamon to oppose Dio's powers, while Jotaro was pretty much like DIO in his youth, always starting shit w/ people and getting anything he wanted, they even share the same stand type to make that parallel more clear.

@@derpman702 good point, except it can still be logical. Hear me out, King Crimson distorts fate, it can actually go around fate. (Which is why fate decided to trap him in a looped death forever so that he couldn't be able to escape fate) you're missing the fact that stands have a higher and more personal purpose for all of their stand users. They represent their inner-most talents and desires. Diavolo's talent and desire isn't to see into the future jump 10 seconds ahead. His desire is to go around his fate. Keeping that in mind, the stand will have powers deliberately have abilities that would sort of reach that.
Let's put it into practice:
He thinks of a future where he captures Trish from bucciarati before bucciarati could react.
Possibility no1: buccoarati's fate doesn't react fast enough due to lack of focus or whatever. And since time skipped, he's even more confused of what happened. So even if he had reacted, he wouldn't have the memory of reacting, so it doesn't even matter.
Possibility no2: King Crimson has the ability to not be affected by fate during those 10 seconds of deletion. Bucciarati's reaction to King Crimson's is a negative fate against king Crimson. So it never occurs. Which is why the difference between time skip and time deletion is an important difference.
Possibility no3: same as no2 but the reason being that since the mind is an emergence in the universe, that means that one's mind isn't a deterministic function in the universe. But fate exists to correct that. So while people might think of something and do something against fate, they will be allowed to try, but will be corrected in the future, sooner or later. Meaning that the deletion of the time, which completely deletes the mind's potential memory that still hasn't occurred, causes the mind to not think of reacting. And that isn't against fate because it will be corrected in the future. And that would also explain why king Crimson goes around fate, but then will have to be correct later by fate

That really sounds good, but Epitaph will see fate making it inevitable, so it probably implies he's randomly using it with time skips. If he saw a vision of him stealing Trish, then he could've seen Bucciarati in view giving him a fixed place in fate. It honestly sounds like a good piece of character detail blindly and hasty taking chances while using a little fate to change the outcome of everything.
The only question left is what about blood in the anime it looks like he's doing it in time deletion and if done outside would've gave reaction time. If he could do that then why not knives

Regarding the “time stop puts strain on Jotaro’s heart” thing, I think it partially came from the idea that DIO can stop time much longer than Jotaro, and seems to be able to theoretically extend the ability with practice, while Jotaro’s never gone beyond 5 seconds. And people chalk this up to DIO being a vampire with an extremely durable, and regenerating body, which is why he can put more “strain” on himself. Recursively, people assume that time stop puts more strain on Jotaro which is why he can’t use it as long, and then they just assumed straining the heart made sense.
Did you ever cover why Jotaro couldn’t stop time for as long during Made in Heaven? I have seen a lot of confidently wrong misinformation about that one.

MiH accelerates time, but time stop halts acceleration and velocity of time entirely before releasing, at which point time resumes at the same acceleration (normally zero, but during MiH it’s obviously a positive number). I can buy Pucci moving his eyes in stopped time when Jotaro threw the harpoon, since Pucci had gravity and gravity and time are related, but I think the original question is a separate matter entirely.

I don't know if there is an official explanation, but i think it is because jotaro does not "stop time" with his power. He just accelerate itself to a point where the rest of the universe moves so slowly it looks like time stop (in phisic if you accelerate yourself to move at the speed of light, the rest of the world will appear as if time froze). So puccy accelarating time makes jotaro perceve his time stop as shorten.
"Except it was confirmed in the Part 6 manga." And thus nobody could ACTUALLY contradict the redditor, as every jojo fan has skipped Part 6 to read 7

It's so annoying to see people arguing that DIO would have had infinite time stop at some point once he fully assimilated Jonathan's body because he was a vampire and was immortal.
It's very likely Dio BELIEVES he could keep growing The World's ability forever, but there's no reason he couldn't be wrong. Time Stop seems to be tied to Stand development (seeing as Jotaro not using it diminished the time it lasts) and nothing body related.
This is also true when we consider (SPOILERS FOR PART 7) AU Diego with THE WORLD seems to be able to use a full five second time stop without any adverse health effects on display despite being fully human. Additionally, similar time-related stands like King Crimson also don't seem to have a harsh effect on the human body despite it making sense that it would take a similarly enormous amount of spiritual energy to do time shennanigans, but it does not. I think it's fairly safe to assume that time powers, unless specified, doesn't put the body through any significant appearing strain.
I always make a joke about how it looked like jotaro uses hamon in part 4 at the very end, and he took a deep breath like jonathan and joseph did, his hamon is stored in his stand.

In fairness, the kanji used for "Stand" literally uses the same characters as "Hamon" and translates to "Ghostly Ripple". The two are intrinsically linked as manifestations of life energy, just expressed in different ways.
When it comes to Esidesi copying Joseph's "Next you'll say..." you could have just said the Pillarmen have 300iq and Santana (the infant of the group) was intelligent enough to become fluent in English\Japanese\German phonetics after hearing 1 sentance, which is impossible.
So of course Esidesi would know how to do it and mock Joseph.

So, i will try to explain as simply as i can: King Crimson has the ability to skip up to 10 seconds of time. EVERYTHING that is fated to happen will happen. So, Diavolo would have killed Narancia anyway, but he skipped time so that nobody would know he was there. So, in simple terms: Diavolo would have been fated to kill Narancia, but he erased the time when he (Diavolo) killed Narancia so that nobody would have seen him, letting him remain hidden so that nobody would have known where he was in that moment. If it doesn't make sense, don't worry, King Crimson is kind of difficult to understand.
@@moodyjazz69 to add to that, the moment Epitaph shows him attacking/killing Narancia and once he uses the ability, he does not need to do anything for Narancia to die, he could teleport to Japan (only hypothetical, he cannot do that lol) during the ability and Narancia would still die as he does, it does not matter, if Epitaph predicts him killing/harming somebody, they are done for (unless you have GER), since only Diavolo can erase his fate of death/injury etc...this is what makes KC + Epitaph predicting him killing somebody so scary (I mean, he cannot interact, minus the blood from his body since it is not part of himself, nor be interacted with during the ability). But since Diavolo is still slave to Fate, he cannot control what Epitaph shows him, so showing him such a massive prediction almost does not happen.
It is essentially as if Narancia's own fate itself put him up there and why nobody noticed. Because effectively, Diavolo changed his fate and erased the action which was connected to them reacting to said Diavolo action and his own action that put Narancia there (furthemore Chariot Requiem greatly boosted Stand abilities, so it was possible for a Stand like King Crimson to do normally then), but when he used his ability and thus did not attack, their perception of this segment on top of that got erased, it sort of aligned with Diavolo not attacking because he instead used the ability, erasing his action that would attack and put Narancia onto the bars, and instead he did not move, changing this fate and thus their reaction to it since if Diavolo, the causer of the action does not do the action, there neither will be a reaction (why they are not suddenly in a battle stance, same as happened with Bruno, this is only if Diavolo is the causer of the action however, so it is a specific condition, not what every time happens).
All except for the main target of the prediction (Narancia here), which will retain their fated result that would be made by Diavolo always, since it was directly shown in the prediction, even if Diavolo just sits there during the ability and just watches, no matter what if it is predicted, the target will end up in their fated outcome on their own(after all Diavolo cannot interact during it, all he can do is to move around, he is outside of time and fate), unless you have GER that is.
Of course, we have to theorise a bit based on what we are shown and what we are not shown, since this scene is not shown from Diavolo's PoV, we must guess and use our imagination as per what King Crimson is and how it is presented, so there always will be some "plausible head-canon" since the scene is never shown.
So once diavolo decides he wants to kill you, he uses epitaph to find the most opportunities and king crimson to erase any trace of himself?

Its not a plot hole that Joseph didn't pass down any Hamon. It's a contrivance, definitely, but it aids the story (or, rather, them having Hamon wouldn't help the story and would just overcomplicate it). People complain about contrivances, but something they need to realize is that stories need occasional contrivances ti function at all. It's not deep, it's just "it could happen, statistically, but because it makes the story more interesting to not have it happen, it didn't." It's like asking "why didn't Jotaro die in a car crash before the events of part 3?" Because he didn't. If he did, the story would be less interesting. It's the same fundamental concept, though obviously to a different degree.

DIO would never be able to reach peace of mind without the Heaven Plan, because even if he beats the Crusaders and rises as the ruler of the world someone would eventually defy him and overthrow him, the Heaven Plan completely neutralizes any threat since DIO would be above the written fate itself, like Pucci was with Made in Heaven.
I know it was never confirmed but I do love the idea that Johnathan had influence on star platinum, nice little bookend to the first three parts

The idea that Joseph’s line reading is an enhancement/extension of Hermit Purple (or that it’s at the very least a natural talent of Joseph’s that is bolstered greatly by HP) and the inherent clairvoyant properties of Hamon is perfectly acceptable and doesn’t outright defy anything in canon.
It’s fan/head canon for absolute sure, but it’s an incredibly well-founded one with tons of evidence in support of it and very little that outright disproves it.
Even if this IS the case though, it doesn’t preclude other incredibly intelligent or observant characters from being able to do a similar trick.
Joseph just does it CONSTANTLY as a young man, when his Hamon is at peak strength, whereas he only does it once as an old man in Part 3 in the fight where he is MOST exercising his Hamon and HP. The fact that he almost never does it past Part 2 can easily be explained by Joseph neglecting his Hamon to the point where HP is too weak to almost ever let Joseph intuit this knowledge

At the very least that's what was done to the name, changing the kanji 森 into 木 by removing the bottom half. You can also see how the ink drifts off of the lottery ticket and how the 木 character is much smaller than the rest of the kanji in the name
The way I always saw Jotaro and time stop was basically it's a muscle he hasn't worked out in years. Which is why when he says he hasn't used it in 10 years he can barely use it.
Like a body builder who could bench a couple of hundred kg wouldn't be able to do that in 10 years if they didn't keep training and using those muscles. It's the same with Jotaro.

Dio Heaven's plan is interesting, because you have to remember Pucci DOESN'T think Dio is evil.
This is important, because just because Pucci THINKS Dio wanted to do what was right, and wanted people to live with peace of mind, doesn't mean that is actually what Dio wanted. For all we know Dio's version of heaven could be completely different than Pucci's.
In a way, it's somewhat sad since Pucci was probably just playing a game of telephone with himself with Dio's will.
We actually have no idea what Dio wouldn't have done if he got a stand similar to made in heaven, or if that stand would've even had the same abilities as made in heaven.
Hell, in Eyes of Heaven, Dio legit instantly tries to rule the world with similar power. So Pucci's and Dio's idea of heaven are probably just different. After all Peace of mind can come about in plenty of ways.

A lot of people ask why certain characters, be they villains or heroes, do things that are suboptimal that lead to their loss or total defeat. It's because they have fundamental character flaws. Why did a villain not do X, Y, and Z to ensure victory? Because the character just wouldn't do those things, which are the traits the writer is trying to highlight as bad and therefore leading to their defeat. This doesn't take a writer like Araki either, most writers implant traits they see as bad and therefore the people with those traits lose.

During the Pucci vs Jolyne fight in the swamp, after Pucci throws the disc in Anasui, he stated that discs are unbreakable. Which means that even if time accelerates, the Disc wouldn't be destroyed in the acceleration of time unlike any other non-living object.

Does anyone know how this idea became so popular?

If not fanfiction, it also could be from early bad translations of lists of plot points of the novels, there's a bunch of hoaxes on them that persist to this day even with solid full fan-translations, mainly with Jorge Joestar, there's a bunch of things on those old lists that made the rounds that never happened when you actually read the novels.
In Purple Haze Feedback, Stroheim is briefly mentioned by Vladmir Kocaqui that survived WWII, so I guess there could be where ppl picked that on, like "oh obviously this guy killed Stroheim in WWII!", logically it doesn't make sense as Kocaqui's backstory tell us that he was a teen on D-Day, obviously wasn't a stand user (at least not a conscious one) or that he encountered Stroheim personally.

Just wanted to point out about Young Joseph and Hermit Purple Statement.
I think people simply read the last line and assume it is on the literal sense, while missing the point that Araki was explaining how the process of making Hermit Purple comes about.
Which he both explained he wanted to give Joseph a guiding role and that he wanted to translate Hamon into Stand since they use similar concepts (Life Energy/Life Force), and then claims that if the Crusaders saw Young Joseph, they would MAYBE see something LIKE Hermit Purple around Joseph.
And since most people only watch the anime, they miss the point that Araki's Hamon is drawed in such a way that it looks like vines around the user, it even has little bits that look a lot like thorns.
He is not factually saying that they would see it, he is giving a example of his own process of translating Joseph's Hamon into a Stand, which also doesnt mean that every single Hamon User gets the same stand, simply that it was the process that Araki made for Joseph specifically

I think the pillar men are in the new continuity, they are the rock humans. They are a different species, but still similar to humans, who can turn to stone. They are different from the pillar men in that they dont have to fear the sun, but i view them as a further evolution of the concept behind the pillar men. Basically expanding newer ideas behind them Araki couldnt before because the initial limitations he placed on them. If Kars shows up in part 9 as a rock human leader, that will feel that will show the idea coming full circle.
Yeah, the thing is that they (Pillar Men) only really feared the sun because they used the Mask. The rest of their people were never once stated to suddenly die in sunlight, it was Kars' ambition to conquer the sun that led to him and his using the Mask and it backfiring due to its incomplete nature.

I believe Joseph predicting what someone's going to say is more that he's priming them to _want_ to say the things he's saying. By hearing what Joseph says, that line is put at the front of their minds, so, when they want to say a similar line, they say the line that Joseph "predicted".
Basically, Joseph accurately figures out the kind of line someone is about to say based on context, and then he pushes them to say the exact line that Joseph says instead of whatever they were going to think to say.

Soo how about the fact that Dio wasn't able to tell that Jotaro was alive with the whole Birthmark star connection when this is clearly contradicted in part 6 with not only Pucci, but anyone with the Joestar Star Birthmark. They are able to tell not only where others with the mark are, but even if they're alive. Therefore Dio should've known through this psychic connection that Jotaro was playing him and was indeed alive
