I wish to personally thank you for this fine instructional video. I just installed my new S&B cold air box and followed your video step by step and had no problems what so ever. Thank you again.
I installed this on my 2018 ZR2 diesel in Dec 2019, really improved power and MPG. Only complaint is that the auxiliary air scoop doesn’t mount flush to side wall, making intake sound very airy at acceleration. It’s annoying enough that I will probably remove the auxiliary later.
No, our intakes will not affect your warranty. You can check out our full million mile limited warranty here: www.sbfilters.com/million-mile-limited-warranty. We design our products to fit stock. I do apologize but the snorkel kit isn't compatible with our intake. You may be able to connect it to our fender piece, but the seal won't be 100% and any water taken in through the snorkel would go into the airbox. That would void the warranty of the intake.
I installed this kit on my 2017 Colorado Zr2. I noticed that my breather tube is kinked. I also noticed that the breather tube in this video is kinked as well. Should I cut the hose to remove the kink? The intake made a huge power and mpg gain. Thank you for your time. Jim
It depends on your vehicle. Improving the airflow to your engine has been shown to increase horsepower. That being said, we don't publish horsepower numbers because of the inaccurate and outlandish claims made by many of our competitors. Instead we test to the ISO 5011 Filtration Standard and publish the airflow, efficiency and capacity data on the product pages found on our website. This is the internationally accepted standard for testing filters and intake systems, so we can hold our competition accountable if they make an incorrect claim. This intake has a 16.2% increase in airflow over stock with a 99.24% efficiency rating.
