Posting video content on social media is a great way to market yourself or a brand. This is a super efficient way to reuse content instead of creating a whole new video from scratch. It's the same process! Just upload your photo and then choose the canvas size on the right side, then drag the purple dots to resize :)

Was hoping for a way to be able to crop it in and slowly move it myself to make sure the image stays centered where it needs to be! Having the hardest time finding an app that will help me do this without long editing in premiere pro
I mean if you are going to try to be prfessional, you really have to make a separate video for the format. Shrinking it down and having all that dead space doesn't really look that great, no?

So when you change the aspect ratio to 9:16 from a video that was previously 16:9 how do you get rid of the bars on top and bottom and fill that space with the actually video?

You can make a TikTok video for TH-cam format by selecting the 16:9 aspect ratio and resizing the TikTok video to fit within the height of the screen!

For TikTok you can choose the 9:16 ratio and then resize it to fit the screen or keep it with its original dimensions
@@Kapwing I guess if you want some of your video to cut off that works, but I know there has to be a way for this not to happen.
Does anyone have any idea why a 9:16 video would get cropped on the sides when uploaded? The screen size of most iphones is more like 9:19, but I've never seen anywhere where it says to upload videos with that aspect ratio...

This app is good, but i do one thing to my video and it gets stuck on 99 percent for hours
Sometimes the upload gets stuck if the network is interrupted. In this case, you may need to cancel the first upload and try again.

Make sure you aren't clicking on the picture, but off to the side on the canvas. In the Edit tab, you should see "Custom Size" under Canvas.

I need more help. This video did not solve my problem with re-sizing my video for Instagram. I make videos on TikTok, download them to my computer, then use Kapwing to re-size them for posting on Instagram. When I post it on Instagram, it looks like it's zoomed in on, and the text on the video at the top and bottom of the screen is cut off, and not visible. I tried re-sizing on Kapwing, and got it to be not zoomed in on, but then it was kind of skinny looking when I posted it to Insta. What do I need to do to fix this correctly?

This is outdated now, it simply cuts off corners when I try to change the ratio..
Ok turns out you can add 3 pads each to the top and bottom then fix the ratio into 1:1 for Instagram. Still easy enough, but cuts the corners just a little
It's too hard. People who are au fait with computers do this automatically but it's not easy for laypeople. :-(
I am a total beginner at this - just needed to resize a video of my granddaughter, which I was able to do. NOW Kapwing tells me that my video is PUBLIC and that I have to subscribe for $17/month to keep it private?????? Outraged....
Hi! Sorry you were taken by surprise! When you publish your video, it's public so that you can share the video with the link (like Google Docs with link sharing on). You have to have the unique URL to see the video -- it's not shared publicly on some "Discover" page.
Making your video totally private ensures that no one can find the link. It's useful for big brands/companies who want to go the extra mile to make sure NO ONE sees their content. That's why we made it a paid feature -- we've found that most people don't care much about this unless they're a really high end creator.
If you don't want anyone seeing your video, you can always delete the project off of Kapwing, for free.

honestly kawping just adds a kawping banner in a video which is annoying and you have to buy it to remove it.
Have tried using Photoshop premier elements!! Absolutely useless! Can't resize from 56mb to size for a phone-about 25mb!! I give up! Photoshop Premier elements is absolutely no help whatsoever!!!!

Sorry that you're having trouble! If you change the aspect ratio of the canvas in Kapwing, you should be able to resize your video on the canvas.
