The ending of the Social Network was the highlight of that film for me, as "Baby, Your A Rich Man" played, while Mark continued to refresh the page. He had all the money in the world, and not a single true friend to share it with. That was the perfect song, for the perfect moment in the film, for sure deserved a spot on this list, at least IMO.

Some I expected like "Don't You Forget About Me"- Simple Minds - The Breakfast Club and some I didn't but were pleased like "Bittersweet Symphony"-The Verve - Cruel Intentions. Some I didn't see that I expected like, “My Heart Will Go” - Celine Dion - Titantic, “I Will Always Love You” - Whitney Houston The Bodyguard, and I Don't Want to Miss A Thing”- Aerosmith from Armageddon!
    Some personal favorites:
Is Your Love Strong Enough? - Bryan Ferry (Roxy Music) with in Legend
Heroes - The Wallflowers (version) in The Replacements
Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC A Knight’s Tale
Everybody Wants to Rule the World - Tears for Fears in Real Genius
I Want You to Want Me - (version) in 10 Things I Hate about You
Storybook Love - Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) & Willy DeVille in The Princess Bride
St. Elmo’s Fire - John Parr - St. Elmo’s Fire
With One Look- Cy Curnin (The Fixx) Better Off Dead
Xanadu - Olivia Newton John and ELO Xanadu
Sympathy for the Devil -The Rolling Stones in The Devil’s Advocate
Out On the Edge - Jon Fiore The Heavenly Kid
The Last Note of Freedom - David Coverdale (Whitesnake Written by Billy Idol) Days of Thunder
Goodbye, Goodbye - Oingo Boingo -Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Some Times the Good Guys Finish First - Pat Benatar The Secret of My Success
When the Night Comes Falling from the Sky -The Jeff Healey Band Road House
Up the Creek - Cheap Trick Up the Creek
If You Were Here -The Thompson Twins Sixteen Candles
Finale Theme- Jan Hammer / No Secrets - Van Stephenson Secret Admirer
Somewhere Over the Rainbow- IZ (Israel Kamakawiwo’ole) - 50 First Dates
People are Strange - Echo & The Bunnymen (version) in The Lost Boys
I’m sure there’s a lot more, but those are off the top of my head! Check them out and the movies and soundtracks as well!

While I do agree that "Heroes" by David Bowie makes a hell of a song to end a movie, and it fits "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" flawlessly, it is much better used in Taika Waititi's "Jojo Rabbit" (2019). The vibe when the song slowly begins during the liberation of the town, then kicks in, accompanying Roman Griffin Davis and Thomasin McKenzie's akward dance moves, until it fades out to a poignant and important quote by Rainer Maria Rilke, is incredible. The first time I saw that in the movie theater during a film festival, I was so moved that I led the entire sold out auditorium to a round of applause during the end credits. Such was the impression it had on me...
P.S.: "Where is My Mind" at #1 is spot on!

Why do the producers on this channel always MISS the obvious? I mean, clearly, the BEST ever moving ending song is INTO THE WEST from the 3rd Lord of the Rings film. It is perfect so several reasons. A) it uses words from the actual film as lyrics. B) just as it was climbing the charts Ronald Reagan died, and in the news footage when they were flying his body from DC back to CA, this song was playing on the radio and it matched up so perfectly with the images that it instantly brought back the film and so the film was relevant again, which is one of the hallmarks of a great song from a film.

Some songs I knew before seeing the films 8 Mile, Trainspotting, Stand By Me, The Graduate and The Breakfast Club, though Born Slippy and Don’t You Forget About Me I knew from tapes yeah the first one was in a tape compilation with film music and songs used in films.
The other was in a tape with a lot of 80’s songs. Lose Yourself I remember my first time listening to it on the radio. With Stand By Me Song I think I first knew it when Timon and Pumbaa spoofed it on the spin-off show they were in. The Sound Of Silence it was again a compilation of Simon and Garfunkel.
I didn’t notice the Mad World cover song in Donnie Darko first time I saw it then I was told Tears For Fears sang it and thought it was them probably, but yes I know original cover was Tears For Fears then Gary Jules did one for Donnie Darko.
Others I’d forgotten only realised a few years ago about the pixies song used in Fight Club.
