This is a great tutorial but man I wish I was as fast as you with the various tools. I guess it just takes time and practice! It’s especially helpful when you demonstrate warp and distort to create the organic look of flowing fabric. Beautiful!
@@alexdouglasnewtonart Wow just watching another one of your videos, I have been able to improve already. Amazing, your from Tasmania living in the UK. I'm from Melbourne living in California!
Oh man. St. Kilda. I’m south east suburbs as well. I’ve done a bunch of things overtime. Right now I am getting back into fashion and thinking to develop my own brand. Crazy as well - your affection for kimonos. I’ve spent a ton of time in Japan, and when I was there for an extended period in Kyoto, I had a kimono teacher instruct me on making one, which I still have, 35 years later. Such a beautiful country.
Oh that is amazing! I have another channel on youtube called “house of kimono” i make kimono on there! Living in Kyoto!?!? That must have been a wondrous thing!
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial! I am a seasoned designer and have only recently started to play around illustrating with Procreate. You have inspired me a lot with your videos and your beautiful work and this tutorial is very helpful! love the dress and the combination of a bold stripe with a lace! 💖
Oohhh thank you so much!! Isnt it fun?! I love procreate! That means so much to me! Let me know if there is anything specific you would like demonstrated!!
Thank you so much for this video! I am very interested in studying fashion design at university (applying through UCAS as we speak), and so I am building up my portfolio. I get quite scared with using traditional colouring methods like paints and colours pencils, as I don't have a lot of time before my portfolio is due, and so this clipping mask method seems to be quite a good quick fix for my designs and croquis.
Oh Im so glad I could help in any way! How exciting to be applying right now, my fingers and toes are crossed for you. Clipping masks changed my life! Drawing on Procreate is amazing I wish I had it when I went to fashion school! You must be so excited! What do you want to do in fashion?
Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial . I am excited to try all these steps using the fabric I have . I hope the result is good. I'm hoping to learn more from you .. once I try all these steps I'll come back with a review. Also ,I believe it will take me a few days to master this..
Great great video…. Very clear instructions although did gave you at a slightly slower speed so it did found as though you were drinking a glass of G&T as you were doing it but great thanks again. Just dabble in fashion illustration but this helps a lot. And the brush you used for the shadows is which????
For the shadows I use the gloaming brush. It comes with @procreate and its really good for building shade because its opaque. Its a lot like using a copic marker on paper.
Thank you so much for explaining these tips. I have been trying to find a video that is clear enough and this was perfect. Only bit I struggled with is I can't seam to find the Gloaming brush which I wanted to try. I don't seem to have an Illustrations section under my pen library. Was wondering if you had a different procreate version to me or it's an extra brush I need to purchase somehow?
Ahhh perhaps its not there anymore or has changed names. I bought the iPad in 2018 and installed @procreate pretty soon after so I am probably working on a dinosaur version! That tab “illustrations” is one I created myself to easily find brushes from the other menus
